omg such a good idea ! The baby was so scary !!!
Ahh man, this was terrifying! I don't know what it is about a timer, but I think it makes my brain turn into mush! Haha very nice game, that required some clever problem solving, too. Agree with others that a way to quickly reset the level would be a nice addition
Awesome idea and well implemented. My only issue was getting stuck upside down in corners. Ran out of ideas with the locked pencil also. Not really sure what Im supposed to do with it.
Thank you for playing! For the locked pencil, if you are talking about the 3rd level, I recommend looking for other objects in the level to grab and place on it to move it. If you are talking about the other locked pencil, try grabbing and lifting the pencil that is pushing down on it. You can move objects that aren't locked by clicking and holding the right mouse button. I plan on making the mechanics for this game a lot more intuitive after the jam. Thank you for the feedback :)
I'll give it another shot for sure. Thanks for the help!
Really nice game. I loved the visuals and sounds, they fit really well togheter. The robot spin sound was very good. A creative take on the theme that was right on the spot. Great work!
Thank you for playing :)
great use of the theme, nice visuals and fun gameplay. great game.
if i was to give one piece of advice, it would be to add a "restart" button to the pause menu. thats it.
Thank you for playing! I will definitely be adding a reset button to the game after the jam. Thank you for the feedback :)
Love the implementation. I also thought about a wind-up toy, but couldn’t really concretize the idea in any specific way (I was also thinking a lot about sadder ways to include execute the idea jaja, nice to see a more cute approach). Love to see someone did it, and in such a complete way. Overall, it’s all pretty solid, the art style, the vibe, and the main gameplay. The only thing I’d say is that it would be a good feature to have a self-destruct button or something to quickly try again if you get stuck on a level. Many times I ended up in positions where I couldn’t win, so I had to wait for the baby to kill me or go to the menu and select the level again.
Love the illustration at the end. But rats make me crazy.
Thank you for playing! A self destruct button would be a great touch to improve the player experience. I will add it after the jam, for sure. Thank you for the feedback :)
We both have the same central mechanic but we used it in different ways!!!
Never have I felt so much fear this game is a horror game.
The art and sound design are just amazing (the music box was so terrifying)
My only problem was the difficult cause ma this game is difficult with time pressure, platforming and puzzle solving
I've played a good few submissions in this game jam and this is hands down my favourite one (5 stars in everything)
That's so kind of you! Thanks for stopping by :)
I hate that baby...
Oh sorry, now a serious comment, beatiful concept, thought that there being no limit for the turns on the robot was gonna be a problem (in the sense of not providing a challenge), but hell, did I tremble with the baby music.took me a while to crack some puzzles, and think I was only able to beat some of them thanks to a bug (or at least what looks to me like a bug), but at the end of the day, it was fun and intense having to problem solve on the clock trying to run from and eldritch abomination called brent.
Just in case, i'll say that the bug i think i found is that when you spam jump, sometimes you double jump in the air, and if you're on a wall and there are multiple blocks, you can still jump on their edges. Maybe this was intended, but just wanted to comment it.
ps. Still hate you brent...
Thank you for playing! The platforming physics can definitely be on the jankier side at times. I will likely over haul most of it because it could use some refinement. Thank you for the feedback!
really fun! the mechanics are interesting, the game feels polished, and I feel pressured to survive!
Appreciate you stopping by! Thanks for playing :)
Wow!! Amazing art and concept. The mechanics are a bit difficult and finicky but that's probably just a skill level issue on my end. Underrated entry for sure, hope you get more views and ratings!
Thank you! I've still got a lot to learn about handling Godot's physics, but things can only get better from here :)
Okay, baby brent will haunt my dreams and every time the music kicks in warning that he's coming, the game got so SERIOUS! This has a great implementation of the theme using the wind-up toy. Everything feels really polished and the music and SFX were very fitting. I will honestly say that the game is difficult, but it seems really manageable at the same time; I'm personally not huge on slower moving puzzle platformers like this only because I get too impatient. Great level design too btw. This game really deserves some more attention in this jam! Amazing teamwork! :)
Thank you for playing! I'm glad you liked it :)
The art was beautiful and animations and sound made the game. The gameplay was tough, but doable. Jumping and winding is the best speed running strat. The hearts made dying a little trivial on some levels as they respawned.
Thank you for playing! Sounds like you were pretty good at the game. Near the end of the jam, I was worried players wouldn't get to experience the full thing due to some of the more difficult levels so the life system was a last minute addition. There are definitely ways I plan on making dying feel less trivial. I plan on only awarding the extra life if they collect it and complete the level without dying (kind of like the strawberries in Celeste, if you know). Thank you for the feedback! :)
nobody prepared me for this intense horror game experience q.q
Seriously guys once the baby-music stops my hair begins to stand straight over my whole back. Amazing work, from whimsical to super serious very fast, unbelievable!
The baby is by far my favorite part! Thank you for playing! Glad you had fun :)
Cool art and game mechanics! Having to start the whole game from the beginning really sucks.
Thank you for playing! If you die and go back to the main menu, you can click the "level select" button and replay the level you died on with full health. You make a good point, though! I should have made the button available on the "game over" screen. I will keep that in mind :) Thanks again!
Couldn't complain! Everything is good as it is. The mechanics, physics, art style, and the element of getting chased by a giant baby just come straight out of a very serious action movie! Good luck on the voting!
Thank you so much! I'm glad you liked big baby Brent >:)
Seriously so creative and fun, everything works exactly how you expect it to and WOW the polish is off the charts. Amazing game you have created here and congrats on the great submission!!
One thing maybe I'd change is just adding a reset level button in the menu, when I knew I messed up I just wanted to restart right away but I had to wait for the baby to show up and lazer me in the face haha
Thank you for the kind words! I was thinking about adding a reset level button, but I kept wondering whether or not resetting should cost a life or whether there should be lives in the game at all. Before I knew it, the jam was over! It's a good note, will keep that in mind :) Thanks again!
Well the game is absolutely beautiful! You knocked it out of the park and the spinning mechanic was so interesting!! Seriously great job :)
A perfect 5* hidden jam. A shame not many seem to find this. The art is amazing and super polished with the circle transitions. The spinning feels amazing. Just well done overall.
Thank you so much! That means a lot to me :)
Reminds me a lot of Mario vs. Donkey Kong 2+; so much fun and love the physics mechanics as well!
Using physics mechanics this heavily was a first for me, but I am glad you had a good experience! Thanks for playing!
Very cool game! The art is great!
I can't thank the artist enough! Thank you for playing!
Very cute take on the them! I've never been chased by baby superman befor, it was a first xD
Well, there's a first time for everything! Thanks for playing!
