Cool game, well polished, but needs more symbols. There isn't much strategic depth currently, all you need is to pick the +2/+3 players and you win.
This is a pretty good recreation of Luck be a Landlord to have been made in only a week! That being said, I think in the future you should try to come up with your own idea or at least put your own spin (hah) on the game. Great job though!
Got to the endless mode! Pretty fun and not super complicated.. I had a good time playing :) Idk anything about soccer/football though
This was real fun and quirky, I didn't get most of the references but I still found it amusing overall. Great job!
The UI work is nice, and the sounds as well! It was a bit confusing for me to understand though, I think it could've used a better tutorial. But overall it feels quite good to play
This is a pretty good take on Luck be a Landlord. I’m not really familiar with soccer (or any sports) so I think all of the references went completely over my head. It was all pretty easy to understand, and I didn’t really have any trouble. It would be very cool I think to see more synergistic pieces - streakers seemed particularly risky as I only ever saw one thing come up that benefitted them.
I really liked the player art, and I could definitely see the Luck be a Landlord inspiration. It turned out to be really fun, and I think the way you tied the theme into the World Cup was very clever. Great job!
The slots is a decent take on the theme. The dialog was amusing. I'm not really a football/soccer fan so I'm sure I missed plenty of references in the game.
I played it pretty safe and just went with the highest straight points I could get. By the third match I started with more points than needed to win the round. Then I got a bonus for players next to other players. Since the board was pretty much filled, and mostly with players, that got a lot of points. I started Round of 16 with 685 and only needed 275, so that is where I stopped.
Very fitting audio for the entire experience!
The choices often felt very similar and with no ability to influence the drops to match the strategy, it felt very random at times. But the feeling of "numbers go up" was great nonetheless!
What a great concept, really fun and well thought through, you are a good designer my friend, great job. Love the graphics and all the little animation tweens are really tight, feels great and plays great too, I really enjoyed it.
This is a really polished experience! I had fun watching my score go up and seeing the neons trigger from certain builds! I will say that the only thing I'd suggest is that the game is too easy? I was well over the minimum with about 1500 points leftover when I won the game. I think it probably needs some negative slots included every now and then that removes points since I felt like I was just being easily rewarded on every spin. Regardless, this was really well made and the SFX + music choices were great! Awesome submission.
I beat Luck be a Landlord. I enjoyed your game a lot! I do miss being able to remove symbols but it's not too hard to build some synergies. I like the unique theme as well
It might be the most clever idea I have played so far. Really enjoyed build making but I feel it needs a little as winning feels very natural and easy or maybe its just me.
I enjoyed evolving my build as I progressed through the game and I really enjoyed the feedback when collecting balls.
Definitely hit the 'Addictive Slot Machine' vibe for me.
I think some more complex choices would have been nice. A lot of the time I was just picking the biggest number.
Maybe if you could trade balls to re-roll a lane, or exchange balls for temporary bonuses?
Anyway, lots of fun. I enjoyed collecting all the balls :D
Really into this sort of combo stacking game, plus I love the World Cup theme. The art and music were great and the writing was funny. Lots of inside jokes for soccer fans too which I enjoyed. Great job!
I don't understand football/soccer so I think the intricacies of the players/stats were lost on me a bit, that being said it was very easy to understand the gameplay loop. My favorite part was the dialogue in between matches and I liked the art style too, simple but effective! The humor of the game is a 10/10, and I'm not much for gambling but it was satisfying enough to play to win, it felt fairly easy to do so. I liked the sound design too, over all a good submission!
Pretty polished and seems like it has a lot of content.
But I stumbled into a strong build early and just pushed skip for like 50 rounds. I came into the finals with 4000 points in the bank. So probably some tuning would help. I also would question if carrying points between games makes sense or just causes unneeded snowballing, while potentially draining any drama from games (if you come in with enough points to win already). That made the late game a bit boring for me because I didn't feel like I needed to make any decisions.
I think the problem was the +1 point for player surrounded by players. I just only picked players and was getting like +100 per spin from just that.
Yeah the joga bonito + players is a broken strategy. I didn't have time to tune & tweak everything so it's a very unbalanced game.
I hadn't thought about not keeping the balls from the previous match, that makes more sense yes, thanks for the feedback. I had fun making this game so I'll probably keep working on it after the jam.
This was cool! I feel like there were a lot of interesting synergies I wasn't able to find. I was running duplicator + bribe as my main source of scaling. Good work :)
Thank you! The bribe can go a long way ^^ Did you make it far?
Excellent submission, the concept is cool, the satire is cool, and it's well-executed!
Thank you very much!
lol i liked how you made mbappe a turtle, its a nice game good job!
balance wise i think its very easy at start but suddenly gets harder or perhaps i played bad
Thank you! Yes, you're probably right. I also wanted to mimic the world cup format, like it's easier in the groups but the further you go the higher the stakes are. One "easy" winning strategy: France + only pick players symbols. And get the neons Joga Bonito and Allez les Bleus.
