show up immediately when I see this is a warioware style stuff, love every microgame collection but this is the most polished one of them so far in this jam I've played ;)

Very polished game, great visual and audio design as well. The concept was very creative and well executed. Overall excellent entry that used the theme well.

Very original take on the whole escape room concept. Racing against a flood has always kinda been a favorite of mine since those old connect the pipes games. Very polished and juicy too! Great job, I really enjoyed this.

There’s a lot of fun and puzzles in this game. It doesn’t hold your hand and lets you try and explore what we’re required to do. It is very exploratory in nature in this way. I think some of the puzzles achieve this better than others.

I think the buttons/question mark puzzle is the hardest of them all, and I wouldn’t say that it is in a good way, because the button you’re meant to click blinks once in “blue”, but then becomes the same color as the others. Also it blinks it a color that become duller, which means it’s harder to notice it when it does. For the first times I tried that puzzle, I didn’t even notice it was blinking, and even the following times, I didn’t always see it, or look at it in time. I think this puzzle could be improved by making it blink in a color that has more contrast instead of less contrast than the other yellow buttons. I also think it should blink a couple more times, if not even the whole time.

I think the traffic lights puzzle could also be improved. Although it has good sound effects to help us notice when the light has changed, you also should keep it in mind that 10% of men and a lower percentage of women are colorblind and can’t distinguish red from green, so as the puzzles require us to spin the traffic light around, they don’t get to see if the light is green or red by the usual standard of “red is the upper one, green is the bottom one”. So I think this could be helped with icons, like the pedestrian icon (walking vs waiting) and/or a continuous sound effect.

The snail puzzle is cute and the watering puzzle is also very cute. They have sound effects, as well, and I think they’re both well achieved, if a bit confusing at the first time we meet the watering puzzle because I didn’t know I could move the pot. But I think it has a good outline that gives you the information that you can interact with it, so it’s like the trial and error.

I think it would be nice to have a couple of “lives” so we can retry the same level we couldn’t do, instead of retrying since the beginning of the game (when we lose). I also think, for accessibility, it would greatly benefit from different levels of how many lives you have, up to infinite maybe, and also speed of the water rising.

This is a great game, if very hectic and hard, it’s really cool and one of the best I’ve played from the jam.

Thanks for the feedback! These are good points. I completely agree that the pedestrian icons for the traffic lights would've been a much better accessibility choice. It slipped our minds that red on top, green on bottom for the lights doesn't work while rotating. Good catch!

Developer

crazy we didn't catch that bc max is colourblind 😭

Wow. There is a LOT in this game and it's all executed so well. Great job!

the only thing I can point out is that it was a bit unclear if I was being successful on taking photos of the bird. I snapped it, received a photo but for some reason I was unsure if I "was done" with that doohickey.

Amazing work everyone!

Cheers

Very well made game! Here is my honest review:

Pros

  • Everything is executed on the highest level, audio, gameplay, puzzels. All are very good
  • I really liked your learning pace. You give player to try out new puzzles, then mix it with previous and then give player a new puzzle and so on. It looks really great
  • Nice combination of puzzles. One puzzles affect the others, really nice idea. And 4 puzzles at the same time is a really good number, not small and not big, just perfect
  • Puzzles are pretty intuitive

Cons

  • Of course, none :)

My suggestions/improvements

  • For first level, when monster (that becomes dizzy when rotating  fast) appears I would give level without button that swaps rotations in order to give player possibility to learn how he works. Because he is the least intuitive puzzle (as for me). It took me like 3-5 times to understand how he works. But it's your choice, it's not a critical issue.
  • Just more puzzles :)

In overall I really liked your game. I hope you will continue to manage it further and release a full game. If you didn't understand something from what I have said, feel free to ask me.

Fantastic! I can't really say much about this because I can't really find anything wrong with it!  Good work. Love the audio, visuals, and I found the increasing difficulty very fun.

One thing I would highly recommend is more keybindings and customizable keybinds.

Additionally, when introducing a new slot there should be some more time leniency to learn how the slot works.

Perhaps a level selector to go back to levels?

Also a level editor would be extremely cool!

There is some potential for expanding the game, but this existing product is already well polished and very fun.

Remarkable. One of the most creative ones I’ve seen so far.

Five stars across the board! Felt like a mix of bop-it, Keep Talking and Nobody Explodes, and Wario Ware, with how you're working against a timer to complete all these different mini games. Really love how charming each mini game is. I've seen variations of the snail puzzle tons of times but contextualizing as bringing food to a snail is so cute and the animations brought a smile to my face. Really impressive how quick it is to understand each puzzle and the way the complexity builds is cool. At it's heart the game is a very simple but clever idea executed extremely well.

Developer(+1)

Thank you so much! I'm so happy you mentioned those three games in particular since they are the exact games that were brought up during development as reference points. So cool that comes across :)

This is an excellent idea and masterful execution. Good job!!!

omg, where do I even start with this beast

ok, so first of all the idea itself. making it work based on tiny puzzles/minigames is genius, cause no matter how simple the minigame themselves are, there can be endless complexity based on what other minigames are on screen at the time, and having some of those be a balancing act or something similar is great for not overwhelming the player while still being challenging. the puzzles themselves are fun, but putting them all together in different ways is just, wow

I have to mention how phenomenal the art is, it's so full of charm and just plain looks good, and the animations on everything really push that charm even more, and the sounds and other effects on each interaction feels reaaaaally good. and the music, omg I'm such a fan of the music. I love how it's all the same track from start to finish with different layers based on whether you're in a cutscene or playing or on the game over screen etc. and I don't know if it was just me, but by the end I felt like it picked up with more instruments and I got goosebumps! and the sequence near the end where the water speeds up significantly and you only have to do one puzzle felt like such an amazing sendoff, like a showcase of each puzzle, really glad you included that

overall the game's just amazing, it didn't overstay its welcome, and it's without a doubt one of the highlights in this jam. 5 stars across the board from me, good luck :)

Developer(+2)

Hi, sound guy and also partial level design guy here :) glad you enjoyed the game so much!

The way that the music works is that it's technically divided into 8 different layers, with the first 6 being the ones that come in during the main gameplay and make up different elements of the song, and then layer 7 being a stripped down version of the piano, and layer 8 finally being a loop of rushing water that comes in when the timer's almost up. When the game is in the menu, just layers 1 and 7 play. In-game, another layer gets added incrementally every 10 rooms, so by the time you're at the evil plants, all layers kick in, including an accordion, some extra percussion, and layered clapping.

Thanks so much for playing and leaving such a glowing review! Everyone on the team was happy to see it :)

Submitted(+1)

oh wow, now I feel like playing through again and paying attention to each layer, that's amazing!! I always appreciate when music is used to tell part of the story or to show progression, you absolutely killed it! and so did the rest of the team, outstanding game all around
