very funny, i love the dark aspect LOL! i like that it's a quick minigame, it really feels like a full proper experience here. having starting tutorial slides were very welcoming, they give me a good idea of how to play the game.

i would like if the scenes had some indicator that they were going to swap, or the current time before swapping. ex. warioware minigames usually have a timebar on the bottom. it'd made me really feel like i gotta make the most of the time i've got haha!

i think the gameplay loop is good, all it really needs is more juice and quality of life things, and it'd be perfect!

i liked this game, very good work!

Developer

Thanks! I’m glad you enjoyed it and you’re right we definitely could’ve added a way to indicate the scenes were going to change, a time bar at the top that flashes as it’s getting lower could make you feel rushed and panic hehe

This is a very enjoyable game! I love the artwork and the story is quite clever with the play-on-words carrot/keratin.

The text at the beginning felt a little bit like an info dump, it could've been easier to read in a concise bullet point format.

The audio fits really well and I did giggle at the words in the 2nd stage. Having the gameplay loop split into 3 stages for different times kept it fresh and stopped it feeling repetitive.

A very good entry, well done!

Developer(+1)

Honestly the keratin into carrots idea came from our composer and was just randomly thrown out at the beginning as a joke but we built the whole game around it haha. Yea I agree the beginning is a bit of an info dump but I feel that the game wouldn’t make a lot of sense otherwise. I’ll have to look into other ways of providing info in the future. Thanks for the review and thanks for playing!!

super funny and neatly made! a nice quick play that i ended up playing multiple times to try for a better score (finished with $149). the tutorial and the mechanics are explained very well and i had no confusion on how to go on about a run. however, i did find the switch between scenes to be a little abrupt. although the tutorial does mention that each section lasts only 10 seconds, it'd be nice to have some sort of audio cue 3 or so seconds before the transition so that the switch in scene isn't too sudden, alongside some form of transition animation so that the player can better adjust to the next process. otherwise, it's a really cool entry overall and great work!

Developer

Thanks for the feedback! I also found myself trying to get the best score when playtesting but my wrists are shot now hahah. We keep getting a lot of feedback about the transitions and will fix it in the future! Thank you for playing!

Ah, finally, a game that makes you feel good after playing! This game reminds me a bit of "Can Your Pet" with sort of playful language over an ultimately dark game premise.

But seriously, great job! I was only able to get to $104 before I decided to spare the rest of the town. Surprisingly fun to try to master. The first time I played I only got like $20, but continually improved which was pretty satisfying.

I loved the text on the slides, and the Wood Chipper scratched out to instead say "Keratin Extractor" literally made me laugh out loud! Also, the pixel art was amazingly done, great job!

Only critique I have is that the wood chip---I mean Keratin Extractor did completely halt the game for a second or two at the start of the second station. Probably just a small optimization issue, but for a three day jam, this was a very polished experience. Overall, fun game about keratin, carrot in, carrots in keratin

Developer(+1)

Thanks for playing and the detailed feedback!

Developer(+1)

Thanks for the feedback! Everything that happened was completely above board and only done to willing participants I assure you! As for the wood chi - I mean keratin extractor it seems to be a problem with the shader used and will need to be optimized in the future but we are working on that haha.

Also, this is a little bit of “developer tech” but it’s super satisfying to do, spam click the heads of the people without dragging them on the conveyer level and throw them in as one massive group! Chefs kiss!

Submitted(+1)

OH WOW, that is amazing tech! I've exponentially increased the amount of people I shredd---I mean saved! I tried my best to get to $200, but this is the best I could do. Thank you friend for helping me save more people o7

Anything for the cause!

Developer(+1)

Submitted(+2)

the game was really funny and dark and chaotic I'm still not sure if anyone would do or if I was supposed to only put gingers in the meat grinder.

Developer(+1)

XD thanks for playing our game

Developer(+1)

HAHAHA my buddy thought that you ONLY put gingers into it so I get it

When I learned you have to rake in your volunteers, I was hooked, but when I saw my volunteers jump into my keratin extractor for my LLC, I was deeply touched. The things people do for money... brings a tear to my eye.

Developer

hahahaha glad you liked our game!

horrifyng mechanic, that extraction :)

loved it! :D

Developer(+1)

All willing participants I promise ☺️

Submitted(+1)

the game is really fun, and I love the keratin extractor

Developer

Thanks for playing and for the feedback, glad you enjoyed it!

Submitted(+1)

Funny concept, I'm not sure about the scientific accuracy of using keratin in carrots but it is the future I guess :)

Nice presentation and lovely art for the different scenes even if the gameplay is simple.

Developer

Thanks for trying the game out and the feedback! I really enjoyed your stealth game!

Submitted(+1)

It's awful, but funny and fast =)

Developer

Thanks for trying out the game and the feedback!

Submitted(+1)

Dark, very dark ahhaha but it was funny, i interpreted  it as ending global hunger by not having people with hunger  finding new ways to create food :)
The graphics at the beggining is something I might use in the future, really clever getting that from the start!

Developer

Thanks for playing the game and your nice feedback!

Submitted(+1)

Wow really dark and the extracting developing carrots part made me laugh from how graphic it was. Really nice submission, I wish there was a timer on every scene because sometimes it is missing.

Nice submission!

Developer

Thanks for feedback! Do you remember in which screens the timers were missing? I re-tested the current version and I see the timer in the top middle part of the screen, even after clicking "play again" at the end a few times

Submitted(+1)

The "extraction" part had no timer, maybe its mac weirdness? some other browser games in the jam worked weird for me too

Developer

Thanks for the quick response! I tested (and developed btw) from an M4 Mac Pro and I see the timer without issues in both Safari and Firefox (I'm on MacOS 26), sounds like you have some developer tools or plugins enabled (maybe an ad-bloc?) that could be causing issues with embeds (not sure if toggling full-screen would fix it, even if all games support it)

Overall nice game, the introduction slides are useful to clarify the dynamic.

The idea is very creative.

Thank you for playing our game!

but I found the dragging part a bit weird and clunky

The premise of the game was dark 💀 and i love it, though i wish the game where you drag the character into the shredder was a bit more responsive

Developer

Thanks for the feedback! For most of the programmers it was our first game jam ever (and first published game too) but maybe I'll look into some screen shake tutorials for that as a follow-up update

Submitted(+1)

For you first game ever, amazing, i'm sure you guys would be making indie hits with more experience

Developer

Thank you, can you please perhaps explain more why its not a bit more responsive? you can throw the humans actually, you dont need to drag them into the shredder, we might havent explained that fully, our bad on our side. Thanks for your feedback and for playing the game!

Submitted(+1)

I was trying to drag them and it was a bit slow, maybe if the character wobbles while your holding them it would feel a bit better cause it shows signs of struggle, or if they jolted towards your mouse position forcefully rather than staying on top of it, i mean like, how can i explain it?  ever played balatro? if you drag the cards in that game they sort of lag behind and then jolt towards you

what am i saying is mostly just game juice, good game jam can turn even breakout to the most high stakes bullet hell looking game ever but too much makes it too hard to focus and play and too little makes it stiff, but this is a 3 day jam, so its better to leave those things to the last rather than top, but great game

Developer(+1)

Oh yeah i get that, we really missed that part. Thank you so much for the feedback!!

Submitted(+2)

this game is so good, love the pixel art. also extra point for being against ai, everyone here uses so much ai... ;/ also i rated your game, can you rate our game pls?

Developer

Thank you!

Submitted(+2)

This game is decent. It's an interesting concept with a dark twist! I liked how each game-play section used the mouse differently, perhaps there could be more ways? The game-play itself is somewhat repetitive, it's fine for an arcade experience though. I liked the art and audio, it sounds like the background music changes between rounds? I think that's a nice detail! Overall, good work!

Developer

Thank you, we didnt have enough time sadly and have to limit the scope but overall it was a fun experience.
