Felt really nice to navigate and dodge the tentacles, good job!

The controls page kinda bonked out on me, I couldn't see the instructions properly. Sailing the ship was good and responsive, but yes, would've been good if you managed to implement the "zeroing" for the wheel. Otherwise good and simple fun!

I delivered all the parcels! As a long-time sailor, I really enjoyed this game here. I even shouted "Hard to Starboard!" at one point, not joking. One thing that might make the wheel more readable at a glance is a "top knot", a knot on one spoke or handle of the wheel that indicates the "center" position, a bit easier then to track your wheel rotations. I like your bold music choice, and the water shader looks great too. Nice work!

Developer

tysm for the kind words^^ the team tried their best :)

The controls felt very responsive and the Kraken quick-time-events felt just the right amount of challenging! It took me a while to figure out where to do orders, but I enjoyed that time a lot ^^

Developer

tysm man this comment makes me so happy^^

Its a really cool visual game. Gives old Dragon ball vibes but well the objectives could be a little cooler. Overall 10/10

Developer(+1)

ty ty ty ^^! yeah we did have better objectives but the time wasn't with us

I really liked the vibes but I wanted to see more of the ship! it looked so good when it was sinking when i crashed lol! but great game but the out of bounds dome was a bit distracting it made the island docking lareas look far away.

Had some trouble with the steering at first, but quickly got used to it.  Also, it seems like the game crashes when you hit the tentacles, so had to restart a couple of times. I initially also crashed into the island since the arrow pointed directly to it, after which I noticed the blue zones.

But, fun vibe overall. I really liked steering the boat around once I got used to it.

Developer

tysm for the kind reply i also like your yoyo game so so so much defo my fav

I'm surprised people had trouble with the steering, did you fix it maybe ? It felt nice and okay for me at least.

I'm always amazed by people going 3D for a jam, great job ! Everything went according to plan and I delivered the 3 parcels. Maybe instead of doing 3 times the same thing I would rather have had a bit of lore or something. I don't know. Wind implementation would be unrealistic I understand that for a jam :D

Great job anyway, great feeling and was a nice little experience !

Developer

tysm ^^ we didn't have much time to improve and polish the game but we're happy with the result!

I think it would have been nice for there to be a bit more of a challenge, but all the other comments seem to think the steering was tricky so maybe not.. but I had fun with this, it’s a nice idea and I like the art style you’ve put together.

Developer(+1)

oh yeah there was gonna be much more challenging but the time wasn't on our side

The deliberately “goofy and late to react” steering is such a smart choice, makes it actually feel like sailing instead of just driving with extra friction. Cute art too, a great little sim.

Interesting concept and looks totally adorable!

It is however very hard to control and extremely unforgiving when failing (aka no extra lives or anything) The artstyle made me expect something peacefull but instead I got hammered by kraken arms :P perhaps though with less tentacles popping up the vibe would be more peacefull but that would change the direction of the game of course.

also idk if this was intended or not but I love that when the tentacles pop up they bounce out of the water a little bit and you can see that it's cut off hahaha.

Developer

tysm i'll try to improve it a little in the bug fix time

I love the audio and art and the overall concept, but the steering feels very unresponsive and it makes it really hard to progress. I'd often try to go left or right to avoid a tentacle and accidentally do a full 180 and crash into something else. I also had a bit of difficulty at the start trying to figure out how to control the ship, so maybe some icons or indicators could help in that regard.

Other than that, it's a great game!

Art is cute and interesting, the gameplay is good. I like that the steering feels a bit goofy and late to react, makes it feel a bit more like a sailboat! It could be cool if you could steer the ship in third person also, first person is a bit desorienting. But anyway, well done!
