This is one of the most creative concepts I've seen in this jam. Spinning a web and tying it into the mobility of the player spider gives it a lot of depth! However, I feel as if the levels (at least the ones I played) were slightly too easy. If you could add a twist to the enemies that would require the player to think about how they used their webs and how to navigate the level it would improve the game a lot. Great job overall!

Surprising cover arts, what even more surprising was the gameplay. Those insects were so clever, they even learn invisibility(or camouflage) and moved away from the screen.
this is like the animal jam minigames where you had to play as a bug and do some puzzle thing. if you havent played animal jam, then it means that ur game is really cool :D. the game is sometimes buggy (no pun intended) but its still playable. the platforming in some levels is pretty fun
Played through all levels, really fun puzzle game :D
Music is good, visuals are good and consistent with the theme. The controls are simple altough there was an initial learning curve where I had to figure out what to do exactly.
The web-building is a bit glitchy and buggy sometimes but managable. The level selection doesn't list the last 1-2 levels.
Nice take on the theme. There were a few times where the web didn't stick to the branch then the spider fell to it's death.
I like your take on the theme with spiders spinning webs, and that you included it into your UI design with the mouse and web tracker. I enjoyed the game, but after a while it felt that the main goal was to cover as much of the horizontal distance of the screen with web. The leaves did provide a step up of difficulty, but I would like another level of difficulty if you decide to make more levels. Overall, good job!
I think I don't need to mention the controls, as others already have (sometimes spinning the web doesn't work), but I also saw, that the pause menu was on the bottom left screen only partly visible.
Except for that, I love the art and the cozy music. Great idea and well executed!
I really like this take on the theme! The controls take a little bit of getting used to, but once you have them down, it's pretty fun. I do think there are some glitches with, for example, bugs being counted multiple times so that the counter quickly jumps up to 10 and the level ends really fast, and bug bodies disappearing. My spider also spent a lot of time twitching around while building its web. But I like the core idea a lot. The levels have a little bit of a difficulty ramp, but never overwhelming. The art was also good, and the background music was nice.
There are some good bones here. I had fun with the game in its current state, and I think with the glitches ironed out and maybe some additional variety/challenge, it could be even better. Nice work!
Very cute game, the visuals are definitely the best aspect of it. Playing as a devious spider was definitely fun!
Although I've encountered some bugs, mainly that after death the game was most likely still going because I was able to win if I waited on a death screen for a bit, which led to the next level starting with me not being able to move. That's also how I discovered that the restart button doesn't work...
Regardless of that this is a really fun game!
Keep up the good work!
Love your interpretation of the theme, one of the most unique ones I have seen yet. Art and sound are super cute, just wish there was something that broke the web or something to add an extra layer of pressure to each level
The artwork was quite nice although the controls were quite confusing and I couldn't figure out how catching the bugs worked. Eventually I fell of the branch and died. The overall incentive structure of the game was confusing as well, and I'm not even sure why falling is a thing. I'm not sure if the pause menu is supposed to pop up in the bottom left of the screen but it looked glitched out. The rest of the visuals look pretty good. I didn't notice much sound besides the music which was fairly calming, at least. I think the overall idea of this game is good but it could be executed a lot better.
As others have said, the controls are a bit glitchy, but I enjoyed the core mechanic.
Nice submission.
The web-shooting mechanic occasionally gets stuck and feels a bit jittery, but overall the game's art style and sound design are very relaxing.
At first I didn't quite get that I was supposed to aim my cursor where the web would spin, but after I got that, I got really used to the controls and things became a lot clearer. And overall, I think this was very fun, and very unique. I also like the music a lot! Whole thing was very enjoyable :D
Very cute, but the controls were a little bit jittery for me.
Really nice game, I love the idea and really like the visuals, the sounds are also really nice. I do also like the gameplay, but I have some issues with the bug entering being random and you needing a specific amount, that could just lead people to build a small web and then just wait. (Yes, I did realize, that there was a fail screen, but It was still pretty easy to just build these webs) Instead you could maybe have the players build their web, then submit it to test it against a (not random) wave of bugs where all (or at least most of them have to get caught). I also encountered a few bugs (okay, actually no pun intended here i just realized after writing this, that that could be a pun) at least in the web version the movement of the spider is a bit jittery at times and the pause menu is in the bottom left and I can barley read, what the buttons say. (But Bugs are pretty much a given, especially in jam games and especially in web exports)
That being said I really like the idea and the execution, especially the art looks really nice, I like how the mousepointer is a cobweb. I also think it is quite nice, that the amount of string you have left is based on how long your web is and not on how long you have been holding down space.
Thank you for playing and the comment! Yes, the web version is broken :,D I was the one who pushed the web version and only realized it was broken when it was too late to change it. Rest assured, it'll be part of the post-jam update. And thank you for noticing how the silk meter works, I was the one who programmed that and it took forever to work properly :,D Again, thank you for playing!
Great idea, and solid gameplay although the controls could be more optimized. This game also does not feel very serious. Overall solid.
what a lovely theme, and the game play is great as well I got quite far on my first try,
In terms of feedback, perhaps implement a modifier key to fall off off a branch. (I fell into the abyss quite often)
