Awsm, liked it a lot, quite a unique spin on the theme.
Very addictive once you get into it! Cloned myself and bent time and space to get that job XD Very well done!
Very interesting concept, I've found the base idea very creative. :) The upgrade system was nice, decided to max out everything before going for the last application, and this resulted in sending quite a lot of applications... 😂 Luckily I didn't get blocked by spam filters, and even landed a nice job, how convenient! Well done!
Very fun and polished game. I think it was very creative to have the minigames that earned you extra approvals, but I felt like I was almost never in need of them, only the applications, which is why I barely used the minigames. Maybe they could give some application bonus too somehow? I also think the animation for opening the letters could be a liiittle faster, it was a very satisfying tempo in the final upgrade, but personally I think I would have liked that moment to happen sooner (maybe its my fault for not upgrading that one fast enough). I think it would be nice if you could press the letter as soon as it appeared on screen maybe? Because right now you had to wait a bit before it landed on the table?
The slowmo ragebait of getting them all was hilarious, but I do think it was a little unnecessary to have it EVERY time because it slowed down the game quite a bit since it happened so often towards the end.
Other than that I think it was a perfect game and will definitely be in the top picks for me, good job!!
This game lowkey accurate to real life lol. Awesome game and great gameplay loop. Kinda reminds me of unfair flips but in a different format which is quite interesting. The visuals coudl use a bit more polish though but the audio was great in delivering that roulette feel. I would say its quite creative and quite serious as well! Overall, great game and I do encourage you to polish it up even more after the jam cos its great! Good work!
Maximum synergy!
Really fun little game. I'm glad I read the other comments to know it starts off slow so I didn't duck out too early. It ramps up well, but I agree with other reviewers that it takes a while to get to a more comfortable pace with the game. I also waited too long to check out the projects tab - if I had unlocked automation earlier, I might have played more there, but I only ended up getting a few of those spins in before I landed my shiny new role over in the NewJobThing industry.
If you continue to tinker with it, it would be nice to see some lowered requirements for some of the early experience levels, especially automation. Maybe also have the projects tab stand out a bit more (a different color? or even a little flash or highlight if the player hasn't clicked on it?) to try to draw their attention in so it stands out more than just the credits or settings.
Also, I never really understood what XP did. I figured out how applications and passing mattered, but I just kinda clicked the XP because it was there. Would be helpful if I knew why that mattered (was it raising one or both of those stats, or something else?).
Anyway, I had lots of fun completing this one - nice job!
Hey I am having a great time playing! I'm actually leaving this one running to passively play as I auto apply online. So I will continue until I max the things out. I get that the point here is to build up to a fever... and I am excited to play more of the projects! Job applications ae giving me anxiety... oof. Anyway Great incremental game!
Pretty addicting.
This was a really creative take on the theme! Very serious too- you're applying for a job, after all.
Its a little bit hard to get a lot of papers, but still the game is fun but please next time add an option to censor the J word, please
Thanks for making this game! I had a good time
Pretty interesting idea as an incremental game! I feel like trying to get the paper/application count up is a bit too slow, while you gain a lot of experience by completing projects, which made me just sit there with a whole bunch of experience while having to go through the
boringprocess of getting applications in (that might be how it works in real life, I guess). From the experience of playing a bunch of incremental games, I feel like having a quick and big dopamine boost at the beginning is quite important to get the player hooked to keep playing the game. The art style has some space for improvement, as currently the assets look a bit incoherent.
I do think this is a very interesting topic to make into an incremental game!
I think the xp was gained in a much quicker pace than the paper things, and the application sound was a bit annoying but other than that, it felt very well done, I'm impressed!
Bruh why did I have to get ragebaited so many times lol
It's just like real life (constant rejections), 10/10 seriousness.
Job application is indeed a very serious matter. The game is pretty good, I like it.
Very slow on start, the first upgrades need too many failures to get me hooked. With some tweaking it can become a great game in the current unemployment era, to blow off some steam :D
This game gave me a glimpse into the harsh realities of job hunting. I like how I can “upgrade” (gain experience) with each job-hunting attempt, making it easier to collect the necessary PASS. I found myself completely engrossed in this game! Good job!
Fun idle game! Enjoyed that you let me press space instead of left clicking every part of it!
Really polished and well-made game. But oh god, job applications, ugh, is such a nightmare to deal with.
And yes, applying for jobs is like luck, almost like a gacha game where you spend your time as currency to spin to win for a qualification. At least gacha games have a pity system.
Great job!
