What a fantastic little game you made, this is platforming done right! The controls are responsive and the levels are designed well with thought and care. Even little things down to the forgiveness of falling on to fire and spraying last minute or hugging the wall as you ascend and the fire on the floor above the wall you are ascending doesn’t hit you. You have taken a lot of care and understand what makes platformers like this work, especially with the restart button being also tied to the jump button, so no funky finger dancing around the keyboard. I would think the only improvement would be registering the next jump as you hit the floor, its like a pre jump before you land which helps register any jumps you may have pressed a little bit too soon (again more forgiveness but also feels great)

Good job with this one!

Thank you! I agree that a jump buffer would be a good feature. Might add in a post-jam update.

As polished as a gemstone!! 10/10 would not play again b/c I would get too frustrated and possibly explode
(I will be sending to friends to make their heads explode ty)

Music sounds fire. Whoever designed this game is an evil evil bad person that made me playtest a rage platformer for hours. I wonder if there's a lawyer I can contact about this injustice.

What I loved is that you made a genuinely challenging but fair game, but you put the thought and care into making death feel quick, painless, and actually really juicy and fun, so I kept wanting to try again and again. Reminded me of super meat boy or nitrome, and felt way too polished to be a gamejam game. This is a game I might actually come back to and play to completion.

Dying never felt like, "Augh, it's busted, they made it too hard" but always, "oohhh, ok, let me try it this way" and that's NOT an easy thing to achieve in a game.

The foam mechanic is especially clever since it challenges you to get close to the thing that will kill you, but only gives you a snap moment to hover there. Genuine tension.

Super Meat Boy was a big inspiration for the gameplay, and a comparison to Nitrome's library does my heart good. Thanks for playing!

Nice platformer, especially jetpack mechanic, love it, very solid game, well done

Developer

Thanks!

This was a really solid entry. I liked how the levels kept pushing me to improve instead of just handing everything over easily. It has that “one more try” feeling, especially with the harder collectibles — annoying in a good way lol.

The design is clean, the cover art looks great, and the whole game has a nice charm to it. I can see why people are talking about that last star, that thing is evil haha.

If you have time, could you rate my Mini Jam game too?

Annoying in a good way is a medal I shall wear with honor. I'll check your game out!

It was very fun overall, the jetpack felt nice to use and the level design was nice. Only issues were the slippery controls and also it didn't let me jump as soon as i hit the ground it feels like there is a cooldown to jumping and that breaks a lot of the momentum. But a charming game otherwise!

Developer

I see what you mean about the jumping. If I had the foresight, perhaps a jump buffer would have been a welcome addition. Thanks for playing!

Commenting here too, I have strong hate/love relationship with your game that made me wanna check out all of your other games too. It’s not a perfect limitation usage, but you’re the most time spent and fun I had playing an entry in the last 3 jams I did. Totally my kind of game, felt like the controls were just enough slippery to make it difficult but precise enough that all levels are great. That last star, though…

Excellent level design!!

Developer

Thanks a bunch! Yeah, that last star is definitely an evil one...

Good job! The only problem I had, was the thing with the drag in the movement, which others already commented about. Other than that,  nice solid game. Good job!

Developer

Thanks for playing!

I really like the idea!, its fun!, i do wish that the jetpack felt a lil less "slippery" but other then that its a great submission!

Developer

Thanks for playing! I'll have to check your submission out; it looks quite charming!

cover art is goated, movement fells like I'm on ice though. I can't tell if it's a precision platformer or speedrunning game.

Goated Game tho.

Developer

Perhaps it is a bit of both! Thanks for playing.

Very fun hardcore platformer type deal. I think the movement could be a touch more responsive, but still a banger. The music was pretty good too.

Also really nice cover art!

Developer

Thanks for playing and rating! Glad you had fun.
