It will be very interesting to see how your physical prototyping goes! I really like the lean into bioluminescence underground, I am very exciting to see how your final game will turn out. I am very interested in how you will convey what you've learned to the players over the course of the game. There is a lot of information to unpack so it will be interesting to see how it is tackled in the final product! Good luck and have fun!

I like the heavy political themes of this game and the TTRPG elements incorporated. I find it interesting how you guys are planning on doing physical work with this game. It seems as though you've thought it out and have a great production plan.

This concept is overall great!! I think that there could be a problem with scope and the amount of work that needs to get done. I also think that you need to be really intentional about what your making and the audience it is for.

This looks so unique, I'm really excited to see what yall have in store for this project. The scope looks a bit worrisome but yall have worked together and have done extensive planning so I think it should be fine. This looks like it could be a great method of calling for action and change, and I wish yall the best of luck!

  • -Concept – Is the idea engaging and compelling?
    • I am immediately hooked by the idea of the climate crisis being heavily influenced by the government and their shadowy agenda. Totally fantasy, guys. Seriously though, really cool concept.
  • -Theme – How effectively does the concept engage with the Climate Jam themes?
    • Government action and really big organization action is a huuuuge part in fighting climate change, and the immediate focus on the government’s involvement not against the climate crisis but for it really I think is a good way of showcasing that sort of interaction. Also the mention of the “cockroaches of the world” is a subtle but not-so-subtle way of tying how climate change can disproportionately affect marginalized communities into this game’s concept and I am in love with it. By the way, by the time I wrote this, I was only like two sentences in, so this can only get better from here.
  • -Impact – Does it include a meaningful, solution-focused call to action?
    • The call to action is literally written in the doc and imo it has the power to be super meaningful to a lot of people, especially with the idea of increasing climate literacy and decreasing individual guilt towards people in their shifting environments when they, say, may not have the resources to do more than they are now in terms of helping the environment. It also helps to showcase to people in ways that not necessarily shift the blame solely to “big business and government”, but showcase the level of impact they have, at least as I am reading it. Really cool stuff going on here.
  • -Audience – Is there a clear target audience for this project and its message?
    • Queer ecofeminism. In terms of target audience, I think the message could not be clearer imo. For me, at least, this feels specifically targeted to resonate with people who may be a part of one or more marginalized communities and to help ease their mind, at least a little, in terms of what they can do, and what they are doing, to help the environment.
  • -Aesthetic – Is there cohesive visual, audio, and/or narrative direction?
    • Tone is clear and concise and gives a very very very clear picture of what the player is going to see and feel while playing through both the physical and virtual aspects of this game. Love the mixed media idea, btw, absolute fire. Narrative also seems to heavily influence the art direction, which has great consonance as well. Due to the analog components of the game, I wouldn’t say that audio is necessary, but I think that if you could implement audio in a way that you think would enhance the playing and narrative experience (at least moreso than is shared on the doc that I can see idk if I’m just blind), I think that would be a huuuuge boon to this already wonderful game.
  • -Scope – Is it achievable within the duration of this jam?
    • I think that because, at least mechanically, this game is so heavily based in the micro-community that forms between the players and their choices in gameplay sessions, I think that this game seems very achievable over the course of the jam.
  • -Production Plan – Is there a clear path to completing the project?
    • (ngl I feel like I’m just glazing atp if y’all even read this far) The path from ideation to polish feels entirely complete and very detailed and I feel like I can know almost exactly what to expect from this team, and considering how much I already am excited for this project, that is just amazing, and I genuinely cannot wait to see even more from this team and this game. You WILL  be getting a follow from me.

I'm not really sure how this relates to the theme of the jam, but this is a great start with a very clear vision! You have an incredibly clear philosophy informing your design, a fully thought-out story, a good aesthetic, and a relatively clear production plan. My only problem right now is how large the scope is. I don't know if you will be able to get everything the way you want it within a month, but if you do, I think this has the chance to be a very impactful and thought-provoking game.

I like the concept of being effectively the settlers of a bunker, and the art style seems like it will be full of character (at least based on the references). Plus, I love a good rpg game, and the ensuing excuse to yell at your friends over minor issues. If it's a standard tabletop, setups, cards, and player discussion, the scope shouldn't be too tough to manage as long as you remember it needs managing. Although again, not entirely confident I understand the game's medium. I'm also not entirely sure how this will tie into queer ecofeminism, but I'm excited to find out, and the idea of losing skills or information over time is very cool.
The way it seems to be described, it might be good to look into (and maybe pull from) an rpg game named executive decision (https://www.gregstolze.com/execdecis.html).
Basically, it looks good :3

I think your idea is great! the concept is amazing and, as long as you can keep the scope reduced for the little time we all have, the game is going to turn out great!

good luck to everyone in the group!

Wow it sounds very fleshed out and it's very apparent that there is a collective clear vision for the project! As others in the comments mentioned, I think scope creep might be something to look out for, but I am looking very forward to seeing the end product!

this is  a super creative concept! it seems very well thought out and easy to follow the aesthetics of, but the scope seems very large.

I love this concept and I feel that the ecological literacy is a very powerful call to action. People need to learn things without the system punishing them if they get wrong answers. Games are one of the most powerful mediums to do that. I love the hopepunk themes here and I'm really excited to get to play this. My TTRPG group will love it (and better yet, there is no gm).

I don't really get how you play but it seems that you production plan is very clear and we will find out in no time through prototyping.

what a crazy concept! it sounds very detailed and complex. the scope does seem quite large, but it looks like you all have the advantage of having worked together before. excited to play!

The concept is Absolute Cinema. I appreciate the level of detail in the production plan and the innovative call to action. I really only have one criticism: there's a lack of detail in the game mechanics (cards, roles, resource management, distributed storytelling power), which makes it difficult to picture the moment-to-moment gameplay.

No notes! I am super excited to see more from this team, the only thing I can stress is to keep scope and playtesting in mind. Other than that this looks like an amazing project :)
