Pretty well made puzzles. I liked that the level number was part of the environment. Very creative.
Thank you so much! I'm really glad you noticed that detail, I had a lot of fun trying to weave the level numbers into the environment design. It's awesome to hear that it stood out to you. Thanks for playing!
solid puzzle! i feel like the difficulty curves can be ramped up smoother, and some quality of life feature such as rotating in opposite direction or reset states. overall good head scratchers with mesmerizing visuals! (i especially liked when the lights are merged together making a very bright light)
Thanks for playing! I’ve had other players mention the difficulty curve as well it seems I still have a lot to learn about level design since this was my first time, so thanks for your patience!
Regarding the quality of life features, I actually have left and right mouse buttons set to rotate in opposite directions, but it sounds like I need to make that more obvious to the player. Adding a 'reset' feature is a great suggestion, too I’ll definitely add that in. I’m really glad you enjoyed the visuals and the light-merging effect!
Nicely made! Some cool puzzles. I got stuck at level 6. But good work, I had fun!
Thank you so much! Level 6 seems to be a real bottleneck for a lot of players, so you are definitely not alone there! I'm really glad you still had fun and enjoyed the puzzles. Thanks for playing and for the encouragement!
I really like the concept, which suits the theme very well! The sound and visuals are also well done.
My biggest problem is with the purple crystals. The first levels are very easily understandable and easy, maybe a bit too easy, but the player is able to plan the reaction perfectly. At least to me, the crystals are very unpredictable in terms of how they are going to influence the beam of light. This makes the later puzzles come down to trial and error instead of careful planning.
Either way it's a pretty enjoyable game, but the last levels feel too clutterd.
Thank you so much for the detailed feedback! I’m really glad the concept resonated with you and that you enjoyed the visuals and sound.
You’ve hit on exactly what a lot of other players are feeling regarding the purple crystals. I realize now that they lack the predictability needed for thoughtful planning, which unfortunately turns the later levels into a trial and error experience rather than a rewarding puzzle. I’m definitely going to work on making their behavior more intuitive. I also hear you on the clutter I’ll be looking at ways to streamline the late-game levels so they feel less overwhelming.
I really appreciate you taking the time to share your thoughts; it’s incredibly helpful for my learning process. Thanks for playing!
I don't know why, but the ear-piercing lazer sound and when it gets very bright tickles my mind in a way I can't explain... it's just good.
Yeah, at the last levels I kinda just bruteforced the puzzles, lol. Especially the final one, I have no idea how the hell did I even pass it. The puzzles are really complex, that's respectable, saying as a person who CAN'T construct puzzles.
Also I like how the numbers of the levels are used inside the level. Nice feature.
Haha, I’m so glad that the laser sound and the visuals hit that satisfying spot for you even if it's a bit of an ear piercing experience! That’s really cool to hear.
I definitely appreciate the honesty about brute-forcing the end, it sounds like we're in the same boat, as I’m still learning how to balance that complexity myself! I’m really glad you noticed the level numbers being integrated into the designs, that was a fun little detail to include, so I’m happy it didn't go unnoticed.
Thanks for the encouragement and for sticking with it all the way to the final level!
Level 6 was too tough for me! I tried for quite a while!
Everything is so polished and lovely, the music suits the visuals perfectly. I felt a little bit like I was brute forcing each puzzle by just trying out all the possibilities, but I don't have an easy solution for that problem 😅. I agree with stalemate below that the laser was a bit too piercing, especially against the rest of the rounded, soft and siney sounds.
Still, I enjoyed my time with it! High marks.
Thank you so much! I'm really happy you enjoyed the visuals and music getting that atmosphere right was a big goal for me. I hear you on the difficulty of Level 6 and the brute force feel, it's a great piece of feedback that helps me understand where the design needs to be clearer. I also completely agree about the laser sound it definitely clashes with the softer aesthetic. I'll be sure to adjust that and work on the puzzle pacing in the future. Thanks for playing and for the kind words!
I really like the aesthetic of the game.
The laser sound is a little bit too ear piercing for me, but it's an accurate laser sound xD.
When the laser bounce into each other, it gets really bright. I like that interaction.
The puzzle gets really complicated towards the end, but I appreciate it. Though I'm too stupid to finish the game.
Thank you so much for playing and for the feedback! I’d love to improve those things in a later update. Please don't think you're bad at solving the puzzles I think my level design is still a work in progress. It was my first time doing a game jam, so please excuse the rough edges, haha!
Felt really well made and polished! Like some other commenter I didn't really get the refracting orbs, which made predicting the light's path a bit hard. For the last few levels I was really just going through the possible combinations until I found a viable one. Great work, nonetheless!
Thank you so much for playing! I see that other players have also been confused by the refracting orbs it's something I didn't fully consider during development, but I definitely want to find a solution to make them clearer. I really appreciate the feedback, and I hope you’ll check out the game again after I push some updates!
Nice work!
Pretty cool game! I do quite like it but truthfully in the later levels the puzzles became so tricky to figure out I sorta just gave up and just started rotating things until it worked. I never quite understood how the crystal orbs worked. 90% of the time they reflect the laser but every now and then it seemed that lasers when through them. I do really like the idea though and I did enjoy the moments i could figure out something, maybe I'm just dumb lol. Music and visuals are nice even if mostly assets, they're well used. As others have mentioned the sfx were a bit too loud. Overall a good game, but a bit hard to figure out in later levels, I wouldn't be able to tell someone the solution to a puzzle even though I completed it. Good work though, it was a fun time!
Thank you so much for the kind words! I’m really glad you enjoyed the music and visuals.
I totally hear you on the difficulty and the crystal orbs you aren't 'dumb' at all! Several players have pointed out that the logic for how those orbs refract vs. reflect is unclear, and that's definitely on me. It’s clear that I need to make the mechanics more intuitive so that players can actually solve the puzzles rather than having to guess.
I’m also taking note of the SFX volume I'll definitely look into balancing that in a future update. I really appreciate you sticking with it and sharing your thoughts, it’s incredibly helpful for me as a developer. Thanks for playing!
it was impressive, i used to play a similar game like this and it reminded me of that, the only thing is that the difficulty of levels seem to increase very quickly
Thank you so much! It’s cool to hear that it reminded you of a similar game you’ve played that’s a huge compliment. I definitely see what you mean about the difficulty spike, the levels get tougher quite fast. That’s great feedback for me to keep in mind for future balancing. Thanks for playing!
Ooooh this is pretty! Reminds me of a "Deflector" on Amiga. But this is super pretty and chill! Absolutely loving it!
Thank you so much! I'm so glad you're enjoying the aesthetic and the chill vibe, thanks for playing!
well made, good polish but really lacks a volume control. if you add sounds to your game, you must implement at least some form of control over its volume. art is good, cant really point out anything bad about it. Your puzzle design i think is good, but imo the idea itself is weak. But it is hard to make a good puzzle game, so dont worry about, just go on and make another game, you are capable of making a quality game, just make more games in different genres try to find what you like to make + what people like
Thanks for the honest feedback! You're spot on about the volume control, I definitely missed that. I really appreciate the advice on branching out and exploring new genres, too. Thanks for the encouragement!
Fun game. Love the art style and the music. I wasn't able to get past level 7 but still. Good concept with good execution
This was a fun little puzzle game (though I still haven't figured out level 10...).
I found it a little confusing that I got auditory feedback when the lasers were hitting mirrors and/or the target mid-rotation (but not where they would end up). It took me a while to figure out the details of how I could move and when the "you're hitting the target" sound actually meant that I was winning, versus just happening to hit it mid-rotation.
The music and graphics complement each other nicely. The sound effects are maybe a little bit loud compared to the music (a volume slider might be a nice addition).
Good level design, too, and it was fun to discover how things work through trial-and-error. Nice work!
Thanks so much for playing! I really appreciate your feedback it’s exactly the kind of insight I was missing while testing the game myself. I’ll definitely be working on these points for a future update. Thanks again for the support!
Really neat! I am too dumb to go past 6, but good job!
It’s a really cool game to play! I like the art.
Super cool !
