This is a very cool mechanic, and I cannot wait to see more come from this tech demo. Although I do wish there was a goal or something to do, this was still cool nonetheless.

Developer(+1)

I wanted to make a goal, but I pushed it too close to the deadline making tools for building the city 😅

Completely understandable. Still really cool though and I hope to see more of it.

Need to add creepy ambience and it will rival Silent Hill. Who knows that Synty environment can be so creepy. Nice job! PS. If you press Esc and the game suddenly exit, it is not a crash.

Great horror scene!  nice idea!!

Cool environment, and I liked the idea of taking these creepy photos. Good job!

Had some issues with the client crashing, but what I saw had a nice vibe. Thanks for submitting!

Developer

When did you experience those crashes?

Submitted(+1)

Just kind of roaming the city, might have been when I right clicked to open the camera?

Submitted(+1)

I don't think it was working for me, didn't look at all like your videos on Discord. Having said that, I'll judge it by those - great work, super creepy :D

Developer

Can you explain what it looked like and the issues that you had?

Submitted(+1)

Sorry, was tired last night, I should have described it. it was in color, and lit, There was a bit of fog, but looked nothing like your video. I didn't find any rooms to go into, I just wandered around a city. The right button worked, but not left. I'm going to assume this is all because I'm on mac and using Bourbon 26 emulation (wine emulation), so I wouldn't read too much into it. If I get a chance I'll post a screenshot later.

I spent the first minute trying to figure out what was happening. Then accidentally became a paranormal photographer) The hidden shadows are a really cool idea. Bonus points for the wonderfully crooked road lines—they somehow add to the charm. Feels like a very ambitious project for a one-week jam!

Developer(+1)

it very much was so 😅

I was hoping to have an actual story and progression events but all the mechanics had to be made from scratch and were so complex, it ate all my time. Thank you for checking it out!

Whoa! This was like the Synty Silent Hill!

As a cameraman myself, I enjoyed taking pictures from low angles, the rule of thirds and all that...but, oh my, you sent a shiver down my spine when I saw what I saw. Firstly, I saw a glimpse and thought it might have been an anomaly, and then the spine tingling truth of what the player captures through the lens! Is it the place? The player? or the camera.

One tiny request would be an option to walk faster but this might have been a gameplay decision. A hugely atmospheric game, with the buildings stretching into the mist. Maybe 'developed' (no pun intended) so that the camera captures images from a list, or locations, points of interest? Very cool though. Thanks for the game.

great proof of concept. I could see a full horror game based on this.

This is really Creepy Vibes. and its very surprising... the more you do the thing. the creepier it feels.

there is some real legs to this!

Developer(+1)

Thank you so much! I noticed quite a bit that I'd get a pit in my stomach whenever I'd take a picture that not even knowing there was nothing there could remove

id love to see this implemented somehow for sure. Good Luck!
