wow it got me invested for a long while

you know a game is good when you forget about the time while playing it

surprised theres so much content for a 2 week game jam by a solo dev

Submitted

lowkey MIGHT be peak (ill play some more later)

Submitted

aaaaa its soo goooodddd!!! a bit difficult to understand at first but i could play this for hours 😭

This is peak. I love how you switch from the idle incremental preparation stage to the battle stage using all your hammies. And how the battles require a surprising amount of strategy with how you choose what time to send hammies out, whether to stack them ontop of each (which I love) whether to save some of your stronger units till later, etc. I spent a long time playing this but still didn't get very far; I had 5 windmills 3 gatling gun buildings and 1 missile building by the time I quit.

I think in its current state the game takes a little too long for me personally; maybe a good benefit would be to add upgrade trees to existing buildings + let us upgrade how many cows / how fast the farmer generates money. Also as a minor nitpick I think it's odd how buildings continue to visually create hammies even when you've reached me max capacity. I was gonna criticise the art for being... interesting to say the least. But I do recognise that it fits the shitpost nature of the game so maybe it's perfect the way it is lol

Developer(+1)

Thanks for the feedback! Just a few things to clarify. So the cow building doesn’t produce the cash, it’s actually 10$ for each rat you kill. And I know the game takes a while, but that is on purpose as the game does save between sessions, and I made it with massive progression so that if the game rates well in the end of the jam, I could turn it into a full game. But thanks for the upgrade idea, that’s great! I’m happy you enjoyed the game!

Submitted(+1)

Ah okay that clarifies a lot. I will likely return at some point to my save because it's a damn good game and I do hope you continue development.

This game has so much meme potential. It has so many small details I love. The main menu. The tutorial text. The combat segment's silliness (The cow flips LMAO). The unserious music.

A bit too slow for me, but this is insane polish for 14 days. With more content you can probably put this up on Steam as a mini cozy game or time waster. (Is calling a game a time waster insulting? I hope not, I didn't mean it like that.)

THIS IS SO GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOD!

Cool game! I really like the music and goofy pixel art!

A small problem when the little guys go off screen and fighting when spawning to many but other than that all good :)

Submitted(+1)

This is such a crazy game love it hahahah.
AND OMG THE MENU

It goes so HARD!!!!
Nice job ;)

Very fun!

Great game! I like the gunner but a lot of gunners making the game lag.

you should’ve seen them when the bullets pierced 💀

Very fun to play, well done!

Great game, I liked the variety of characters and their abilities. I wanted to play for like 10 minutes and ended up stuck for 50, it's addictive. But there are some issues:

  1. Sometimes rats glitch between colliders and pass through all my units, and I instantly lose.
  2. Sometimes you lose not because your units die, but simply because they push you with endless bodies.
  3. I think when I speed up time, mice become much, much tankier.
  4. The game is great, but it feels too large for a jam. I probably grinded for 30 minutes just to get the final mecha unit. You did great, but I think you tried to add too much content in such a short time—I'm talking about the day/night cycle and units not in battle behavior. I'm sure you lost a lot of sleep over this. Impressive work, anyway!

Thanks for the feedback. Here’s what I want to clarify about the issues you faced.

1.rat collision

- when you say the rats glitch past, do they seem on top of the rats? If so that is intentional as they climb on top of each other to get past the hamtehs. Spam spawning the hamtehs makes a wall, countering the rats. If they weren’t going on top of the hamteh and were going through it. Then I will look into it.

2.rats pushing the hamteh back.

- This is intentional because as much as it’s a battle of health and damage, it’s also a battle of mass and force, imagine two opposing power beams with one having more force pushing back the other.

3.Rats appearing tanker.

- I am aware of a bug in which it looks like rats aren’t dying in the sped up modes. This is because the frame rate of the game can’t render the new rats replacing the old ones which bodies fade into the red mush.

4.concerns over game taking too long.

- While I understand the game can’t be beat in a few minutes like most game jam games, I made it this way so that if it does well in the game jam ranking. I might consider turning it into a full game that’s marketed. And I appreciate you being concerned about my sleep lol. Surprisingly I only used 6-8 hours per day on it and spent no all nighters.

I apologise for not making it clear in the current version. I will definitely make it more clear in a new version if it does good in the jam. Thanks for the feedback!

Really fun game, easy to pick and great tutorial!

A cute, relaxing game! An extra bonus point for the "pico park" when you click too fast to spawn them in a sliding column. It would be even better to have a clicker or a puzzle game with rewards to keep me busy while waiting for them at home. Overall, it's a good experience!

I love the cute artstyle, especially the hamsters! It's also very easy to pick up and I enjoyed playing this game especially watching the hamsters go ham against the rats (I don't have a hate for rats). Overall I really love this game, good job!!

This game is absolutely BONKERS!
It takes a little while at first but once that army is ready it's ready.
Really good sense in balance and fun ;D  5/5 Enjoyment!

Awesome, I want to know if theres anything I could improve on, and what sits right with you in the current games state so I dont accidently kill anything good. I thought about adding a mage hamteh or different regions that unlock when you kill each current region boss but I ran out of time. But yeah, let me know what I could improve on. The feedback means a lot!

Submitted (1 edit)

This is less of an idea but more on balance, It took long between each new building type to build and for me to see how the new unit acts, i would consider changing the cost of buildings to start cheaper but gets more expensive by each building built in the same category, So the initial 3000 + 40 cost of machine gun hamtah felt steep at start even for incremental games, maybe starting at 1500/2000+25 blocks then going higher in price each time built would urge the player to stick around to see the next building!

Another thing is maybe an "end run" button that lets you keep whatever hamtahs you didn't use yet in the run and take them home if you felt the run isn't going well.

Developer(+1)

That sounds great! I’m looking forward to working on this game further if it ranks well in the jam. Thanks for the feedback!

Great approach! i'm doing the same thing ;D although i'm not happy with my current game even for the jam but that very same plan is what i'm going by.
I'm curious what top% vote result for your game would you consider as a good indicator to continue working on it? i know this varries from person to person but really curious !

Nice holistic game with silly graphics and text and clear goals! The overarching loop is a bit on the slow side, but it's fun time. Nice job!
