How does your game incorporate the theme?
In AXIORA, you scale a purple cube to navigate each level, defeat monsters, and overcome obstacles. The game revolves around replaying levels, mastering their challenges, and learning when to scale up or down to succeed.

But not everything that scales is the cube. Some things are scaling beyond your view.

What bonus challenges did you complete?

Cross Dimensional

Did you use any sort of AI during the development of your submission?

No

Oh wow what a gem of a game. I did not expect this kind of adventure when you left a comment on my game. I really tried doing the safe thing and playing sparknoid but it's already 2am here. This sure was an experience

Developer(+1)

Thank you for playing it :D  I'm happy you liked it :)

How you can manage to do everything in 2 day? One of the weirdest(in a goodway) and unique artstyle I have ever seen it is like I am using durg or something lol. Really good work

Developer

Haha yeah that's sorta what I was going for :) I have a very quick and simple work flow, I'm a graphic designer for my day job and I use a very simple visual coding program called Construct 3 which I've been using for about 10 years now, so I'm very familiar with it :)

But I'm glad you liked it :D  thank you so much for taking the time to play it :)

Submitted(+1)

Awesome and very unique graphical style. The game feels like I'm stuck in the Matrix :) Nice puzzle elements!

Developer (1 edit)

Then mission accomplished, I wanted it to feel weird and crazy haha :) Thank you so much for playing it!

Submitted(+1)

This is absolutely insane. By far one of the best entries I've checked out!! I don't even understand how you came up with so much content, let alone built it all in such a short time! completely mind blown!

Developer

Haha, 100% Construct 3 and my work flow, I've been using the engine for over 10 years now and I'm a graphic designer at my day job :) The story I talked it out with my mom on the phone as I was making the game lol But I would credit mostly construct 3, its soooo quick to go from idea to gameplay :)

Thank you for taking the time to play and leave a comment :) I'm happy you liked it :D

The visuals are fantastic, and I love the mystery of it all. This is really on another level. Kudos.

Developer

Thank you so much! It's cool that people get it, I was worried haha :P

Submitted(+1)

I loved the art style of it! The entire surreal aesthetic of it reminds me of some obscure PSX games that you would stumble on once in a lifetime hahah. Nice entry :)

Developer

Thank you so much, that's really what I was going for something really weird, thank you so much for playing it :)

Art was amazing, music was amazing, the whole game was amazing. Great job!

Developer

Thank you!

And I can't say it enough, I recommend anyone who needs chiptunes music to go check out JetDarc, he's amazing at what he does :)

Submitted(+1)

Art is amazing! Incredible work

Developer(+1)

šŸ‘€ Oh! Thank you so much for taking the time to play it!

Submitted(+1)

Wow, beautiful!

Developer(+1)

Thank you so much šŸ™

was bit confused as i kept getting stuck in the room with nothing to do, but art is very cool! the best game so far!

Developer

Yeah, people get stuck on that, it's behind the bed :) then you use that on the broke part in the wall, it's  a tad obtuse.

Submitted

that part i figured out but then got stuck in the room with the cat lol i may be bad at games tho :D

Developer(+1)

haha yeah, so that one you have to look at the poster on the wall, all the puzzles in that game relate to my previous two game jam games, if you look at the wall you will get a prompt then it's easy, those are the only two puzzles :)

Submitted(+1)

omg i feel dum now, only think i did not consider! i played your other games, absolutel master class in game jam dev!

Developer (1 edit) (+1)

Thank you so much! I love making games man... It's crazy cause I almost didn't join in 2024 just cause of so much self doubt and not thinking I couldn't do anything cool, so many lessons in there. I just try to make things I think are cool :) Thank you so much for taking the time to play them, it means alot :)

PEAK

Developer

:D Thank you!!

Holy moly! This was a crazy experience haha your art direction ist super unique! Very good job! GGs

Developer

:D ooooh hoooo  Yeah it's a wild ride, I was worried it might be too much, so I had to..... keep it dialed in some.. :P

Thank you so much for taking the time to play it :)

Submitted (1 edit) (+1)

A real mindf*ck (compliment)! Definitely the best itch page of the jam

Developer(+1)

Hahaha :D yeah was my goal, just something crazy and obtuse, I finally felt like I had the knowledge to do something like that, which is cool :)

Thank yo so much for playing :)

Submitted(+1)

The way you've composed and used the visuals is really cool, and the story seems intriguing, can you give me a hint about how to get the power on in level 2? I was struggling

Developer

Yes so.... behind the bed headboard, there could be something to help you :)

It's obtuse because the puzzles are references to the past two Kenney jams, Power and Connect... they also use mechanics from both of those games.  You could also play those games, there could be something in those that I added... :P

But that is how you do it for sure :) Let me know if that helps and thank you so much for playing my game :)

Submitted(+1)

I don't really know what I am supposed to do in the 3D world once I get there.  The 2D gameplay is pretty simple and challenging to get the timing just right, managed to get to the end, but I found a bit annoying needing to restart the browser replay the game. Overall pretty cool concept and nice game.

Developer

Thank you for playing :) and you just explore around and try to escape, game has 5 different endings depending on what you do :)

Thank you so much for playing!!

Submitted(+1)

Took a while but I cracked the safe, and I agree this ā–‘ā–’ā–“ā–šā–žā–™ā–›ā–’ā–‘ā–œ seems suspicious when all the dots are connected...

Great job with the game was a lot of fun!

Developer(+1)

OOOh :) Wow that's some dedication right there, really awesome :D I'm happy someone did it, the whole time I was making it a little voice in my head kept saying, nobody is going to open this thing :D Really cool!

Thank you so much for playing my games :)

Submitted(+1)

Not a clue what I just played, but dang was it interesting! I feel like I got a bit lost some of the way through and then it just kinda ended eventually, felt like a feaver dream and you know what, sure, I'm here for it!

Developer(+1)

OOH, then you 100% get the game. Yeah, it's not for everyone, but I think it's a hell of a ride. Was fun to make, I wish I could see how people react live to stuff in it :)

Well, thank you for playing :)

Submitted(+1)

Such a crazy concept! Very nice! You cause me surprise when turns to 3d first person :D Because when you look at screenshots the game seems 2d! And was cool that you did a tribute to the winners of the previous Kenney Jams. Congrats!

Developer(+1)

Thank you so much for playing :D Yeah I started on the 2D game first and I didn't like it much then it just went off the rails. With tributes I'm a tad selfish there, those are my other two games Sparknoids and Nexify. Nexify came in 3rd in 2024, and Sparknoid came in 2nd :P I had to rebuild the certificates with Kenney assets though, which I thought was funny lol

Thank you for playing happy you liked it :D

Yeah, man! After, I realized you were one of the winners. I’m not really used to game jams. The last one I took part in was back during the pandemic, lol. I kind of jumped into this jam out of nowhere, so I just started developing right away and didn't really look at anything else. Now I’m finally taking the time to play the other games and check out the details of past competitions. Congrats for the past jams, and good look again! I think the most important is enjoy the process and to know that we did a great job! :D

Developer(+1)

Well when I started I had no idea it would be a 3 jam journey for me... I love making games but these jams do stress me out alot.. and also it brings out the best in my creative side, so I knew I had to go all out for this one :) Also playing other peoples games is one of the best things about this jam, getting to see so many cool ideas and things I would never think of. I really think the key is with these jams like you said is to enjoy the process :)

Thanks again for play and good luck on your future projects :D

Submitted(+1)

What an amazing game! Visually, it's stunning, and as for the gameplay... it's confusing, in a good way. Congratulations on the result!

Developer

Yeah, my plan was somewhere between fever dream and idk what is going on... :D lol Thank you for playing was really fun to make and great to see people having fun with it :)
