I love the classic WIndows look and feel - very well achieved. The in-game texts are witty and funny, even if I was looking endlessly for “home alone” before figuring out that you even invented the movies in this one. Cool job!
Really enjoyed this one! Excellent execution of the Win95 aesthetic and I was charmed by the dialogue (monologue? Haha) of each of the callers.
Super cool! Loved the movie covers.
Short but fun experience! Loved the funny writing and the references to real movies. Also really like the Windows 95 interface! Feels very nostalgic :)
The letters jumping up and down reminded me of old school runescape :D Overall it was very pleasant to play and I think the movie descriptions were very creative. The music is very well balanced and fits the game. Great job!
Loved this, found it really fun! I thought the writing was really creative for the callers and for the movie titles/descriptions (I think it's pretty funny that both of our games used "Spectersmashers" as the parody title for Ghostbusters!). I also thought the use of the map was really inventive in this game.
Really liked the retro style of this genre of the game, got the windows xp vibes playin it. Overall experience was pretty good.
hell yeah, added this to my list of favorites as well. another retro fake desktop banger! I really enjoyed the goofy movie titles / descriptions (reminds me of that one south park episode where cartman needs to come up with stupid movie ideas (but all of them feature adam sandler)). anyways, really nice writing and presentation. I just played it in the morning drinking coffee and had a blast. thanks for the contribution!
A fellow movie renter! Loved the old Windows aesthetic, I think it was super well executed. I also really liked the "printing" receipt for the results score. I enjoyed the movie parody names and eccentric callers, it was fun to try and figure out exactly what they were looking for. And major props for all the accessibility options!
Thank you I am glad you enjoyed it and noticed the accessibility options. I wasn't sure if it would be worth the time but didn't want to turnoff potential players due to the CRT screen or font size
Now I know what I will never be able to do in real life ... be a pizza/movie rental manager. I was sooo slow =)
Nice game you have there. Really liked how I was just "in it" right from the start.
The old Windows desktop helped a lot with it. What about making the windows be able to leave the screen area? That way you could peek the information you are given in the background better.
Enjoyed it very much (but I will do it never again =)!
I didn't even think about not being able to see the transcript when viewing the movie list. Thanks for the feedback I will take it into account. I can probably make the windows moveable like that. The only reason I have them locked inbounds was to avoid some other potential issues I didn't want to waste time on. But I think I can do it.
I thought I had my own game open in the background at first. It's funny how we both used the same music track. This is one of a handful of games that I really enjoyed! The customers have a lot of character. The whole desktop interface was pretty neat. I don't usually like fully text-based games but this one had me hooked.
You did an excellent job with the visuals and all of the customizable menu items :) and the challenges were simple but interesting. This was really well done!
This was fun! I love how we both decided to recreate an old desktop environment (although yours clearly wins for having moveable windows). I really enjoyed how characterful each of the messages were, too, but unfortunately, I had to turn the audio off halfway through due to an inexplicable urge to listen to Soul Bossa Nova again.
I really liked your submission! It's a great take on the theme, and it fits perfectly.
I also love the movie look up system, and the fact that you clearly put time into making all the parody versions of so many different classic movies. Incorporating the map for delivery drivers was a great idea!
Super well done! Now I'm going to go get some pizza!
I like the vibes and its pretty cute, one small thing, the green section looks yellow on the map to me
Oh those movie names hahaha I think I've seen almost all of them. Very creative guys!
This game makes me nostalgic. True feeling of old days! Love the concept. Great game.
I did not expect that, quite a unique game, i liked the calls and the writing over all, it made it more immersive.
Really Cool Game! A Pizzeria and a Movie Rental store is really cool and with the windows 95/98 style of the games UI it REALLY makes this Fit The Theme so well.
This was such a good interpretation of the retro theme, what a shagadelic game!
