Awesome game. Loved the aesthetic. It definitely feels like a game from the 90's. The controls I think could be improved a bit--maybe have right click to move instead of having to left click to select the ship then left click again to move? Though I recognize it's tricky with how unusual the grid is. It certainly took me a few runs to get used to! In any case, well done!

Developer

As a last second feature, we added double click as a fast travel mechanic. With the same code, we could've easily added left click... if only we had the idea

Oops, I seem to have misread that part of the game page. Please disregard my comment about the controls then. Double clicking is much quicker than what I've been doing 😅️

Nice game! Games in the ’90s looked exactly like this. It’s a really cool interpretation of the theme.

I wasn’t always sure what I was supposed to do or what the controls were, so a short tutorial or some on-screen instructions would help.

That said, the art style is impeccable. I really loved it!

Developer

Thank you for your kind words! I worked really hard on the alot of the art

11th place on the leaderboard, I'll take it!

Fun game! The concept, art, and music are all so cool.

Nice concept and graphics. I wasn’t exactly sure what I was supposed to do with all the organs. I read something about a black hole, but couldn’t find any on the map. The grid movement is very novel, but the exploration feels kind of weird when you reveal just the 3 tiles in a triangle.

Developer

How many tiles would be ideal to reveal?

Submitted

It’s weird that it reveals the diagonal tiles but not the adjacent tiles.

Developer

Maybe the whole "hexagon" should be revealed?

Submitted

Yeah, I think that would make more sense

Developer

Ironically this is actually one of the things the whole team talked about once or twice but never had time to implement a better alternative such as revealing the entire area a planet takes up when you move into a tile in that group

Loved the art, music and retro feel! Also very unique gameplay. Great job!!

Cool game, the art was great! I liked the tiling, I’ve never seen a hexgrid rendered like that. Looks like flower petals.

The different music tracks were a nice touch, it gave the game a different feel each run.

Developer

It took an hour for me to make the grid then it took the programmer an hour to figure out what the heck he was looking at lol

Not my usual genre, but I played longer than expected. A good sign =)

The art style is what I like most. But I also enjoyed figuring out the game itself.

I like the specially shaped grid, but some neighboring cells cannot be move to. Is this a design choice? And what about making the movement a single click on the target cell?

The click area of the GUI controls could also be a bit more forgiving ... I'm not a sharp-clicker =)

Nice game jam entry you have here!

Super cool vibe and art!

The art is really really cool and the audio fits the them so well I felt like I was playing the most immersive arcade game in the arcade with speakers all around you and just the game to play.

The art style here is fantastic. It really feels like a retro game. I definitely struggled with the game play and usually couldn't make it far. Is there a trick to know how much fuel you have when prompted? That one always got me.

Developer(+1)

damn i see what you mean, you can not know the fuel if it changes after you move, since when you arrive to the drone the ship menu is closed. thanks for letting us know.

really great visual style!

Nice theming with the map. I like the lore.  I like being quizzed on the game. Also, really nice art. Overall I liked a lot!
