How does your game fit the theme?
OMI - One More Island—is an incremental deck-building game where your ship's CORE is going to collapse at any second. Your goal is to reach an island to let it cool down before it happens. Or you can try to gain enough speed and accelerate even more. If the count comes to 0 and you are NOT safe on the ground of an island, the core is no more, and you lose.

Really cool concept and the color scheme and artstyle is awesome, but i believe the biggest thing holding it back is the UX and arrangement of elements on the screen. The UI for start ship, place cards and instructions is very oversized, and I didn't even notice where exactly is my ship for first 10 seconds of the game until i looked up. Also there isn't enough visual or audio feedback for using the cards such as when gaining time or speed or even earning coins, so that left a lot to be desired. Well done though, and good game!
Thanks!
Yeah, I do agree on all of your points ^^
I'm currently working on the animation so that, once a card is processed, you know right away what type of resource you gained.
Glad that you like the core concept and the visuals 💛💛💛
Loved the interesting concept and also the art reminded me of ultrakill a lil :3
You clearly put a lot of effort in the player's decision making process and made the game very well balanced :) In such a short amount of time, you guys came up with such a cool concept and it would be so perfect if it had more polished visuals (They are still good especially considering the fact that you are a solo dev). I love how you came up with so many mechanics and made the game have a diverse array of different interactions :)
Thanks!
I'm so glad that you liked the balance. I did not have a lot of time before the publication to try to find a perfect one, so I did my best.
And just so you know, I'm also the one doing the art ^^ (I'm assuming you thought I had a team since you said "you guys"? ^^)
Wow what an ambitious project!
Obviously there are lots of visual bugs but overall the core game is very interesting!
This is definitely the kind of game I would usually have on my Steam Wishlist, which is the best praise I can give.
So sorry for the bugs; I might have been a bit overambitious here, so in the end I was not able to test enough..
Whoaaa that's an amazing compliment! Thank you ever so much 💛💛
I think there is potential to do a full game here; I'm going to try a demo from here.
So that's so nice to know that there are players who could be into it ^^
The game is great! Visual and game design are very strong, you can feel the hand of the master.
The only thing is that it's a bit difficult to figure it out right away without first reading the tutorial. Plus, on the way I came across a couple of visual glitches: the cards were floating in the air, and the timer sometimes turned strangely. But these are trifles - the idea itself is fire, it was really cool to play!
Thank you very much for finding the time and playing our project - it's very valuable for us!
I'm so glad that you like the core concept of the game!
The fact that you still enjoyed it despite the rough start and visual bugs is such a relief for me.
I was so scared to have no one who would give a shot to the game after the first bug, and I could not blame them.
But to stay and find what the game is about does mean the world to me!
And if anyone is reading this, go check their game, we have very similar concept, and they DO have a nice learning curve there ^^
A lot of mechanics and concepts for such a short jam, impressive :)
I would've loved to have some sort of tutorial, I got quite lost for a while, still not sure I fully got everything. Congrats on a great entry!
This island jumping concept reminds me of a game I used to play a long time ago! The tutorial explained what would have been a complicated game pretty clearly and I was able to get the hang of it in no time! Unfortunately there were a couple bugs in the last hope islands where the cards were glitching and I was starting with different amounts of coins each time, but other than that, really well done for just 4 days as a solo dev!
If you ever remember what game it was, I would be curious to know ^^
So glad that the tutorial on the itch page helped you! I did try to make it as accessible and enjoyable as possible to compensate for the overwhelmingness of the game start.
Sorry for the bugs 🙏 Currently back on the game, and taking those one down ^^
This is a really cool concept ! I was a little bit lost at first, but it turned out to be very simple. I love the arstyle, the game is fun, and I could really see it being extended in a full version with more cards and deeper strategy. I hope to see more of this game in the future !
Really enjoyed the itch page, great presentation of the game! I read through it but I would still have loved a tutorial, there was quite a lot going on aha
The artstyle was really cool and i liked the introduction as well!
Congratulations on that game ;)
Incremental deck builder? Say no more, I'm in!
Very nice visual style. It would benefit a lot from a tutorial first, then the actual game. I think the UI is unfortunately not quite clear what is clickable and what is not, building a design system around that would really help. The music was very fitting, and your presentation is solid. I think a bit of a toned-down approach would really benefit in transporting your idea to your audience. I'm really impressed by your features and idea. I also read your itch page and think you really communicate very well throughout your whole page. Great job!
very cool visual effects. i do not paly card game a lot, but the stylish artstyle make me just wanna have a try.
The art style looks awesome and the concept is also great..
The graphic is really unique and adorable. As a card game player I do like this game, and maybe adding new types of cards might make the strategy deeper. I love the music btw! It truly fits your game. Nice job!
I didn't have a hard time understanding the game after reading the tutorial. The visuals looks amazing and matches with the music and UI. I could definitely see this get expanded into a game with more card types which can add many layers of gameplay. I did also ran into a few small visual bugs like my mouse moving off from the card while dragging and also card disappearing when dragged to the right side of the ship. But overall I think it's great what you have made in 4 days!
really cool art and concept, but the gameplay and the ui felt a bit overwhelming
I really loved checking out this game! Like some other comments, I unfortunately ran into a few bugs and also found the game pretty unintuitive at first; while the art is really nice, I think a clearer UI and tutorial system might have been helpful. The mechanics also felt a little incomplete; I really liked the idea of the card trader shop you mentioned in another part of this comment section!
All of that said, it's really hard to scope and polish a game in such a short amount of time, and putting a game this ambitious out the door in four days as a solo developer is an incredibly impressive feat within itself. I'm very excited to see your work on future projects!
interesting deck builder you made here would really love to see it built out more but enjoyed what you have here already! look, feel, and polish felt good though for a short game jam so well done!
It took me a second (and a proper read of the tutorial) to really understand this game, but once I did, I had a lot of fun. I'm not super familiar with SF, but the presentation definitely reminded me of one specific game I played on the Wii as a kid (can't for the life of me remember what it's called) :) I had an unfortunate bug where the card slot worth 15 gold wasn't clickable, but it didn't bother the gameplay too much. Good job!
I love SF and deckbuilders, so that one easily caught my attention.
I'm amazed by how many different mechanics you got time to implement. It's really impressive. Some of them are maybe not balanced right now (especially card generation system), but I see how it could be improved and expanded to a full release.
Also, great job on creating a wonderful SF atmosphere!
