cool game. easy rules, but requires a lot of counting to perfectly solve. Can you complete the game or is it just a test how far you can take it?

Developer

Currently there is no ending, its just infinite. Thank you very much for playing.

I really like games like these! The concept is unique because its simple enough to play, but obviously there is a strategy that requires alot to think about. the artwork is very cute, and the game as a whole is very re-playable!

Developer

Thank you I'm glad you enjoyed it.

It's pretty fun to move around the queen and i like how quick you can move her, it's also quite satisfying when you take a piece. Pretty nice music and art to go alongside it too. I just think it gets a bit unfair later when you simply just can't collect all the pieces in the amount of moves you have left. Also maybe if some of the pieces you collect are moving around like chess pieces it could be fun? Just anything to spice up the gameplay. Cool game though!

Developer

Thank you for playing and the feedback.

Nice little spin on chess, satisfying to clean the board!

Developer

Thank you very much.

It was satisfying and intuitive to play! I kept expecting the other pieces to fight back, and I think maybe the blue tiles could be located at the tiles that enemy pieces are attacking? So attacking a bishop diagonally or a rook horizontally/vertically would be more expensive than avoiding their lines of sight? Just a thought!

I really liked playing, though. Something about it was calming. It felt like doing the chess.com puzzles, but lower stress, with each level having more than 1 correct answer. Not that the levels were easy, but because saving a few moves each round could really add up and save you later -- it was more like a marathon of puzzles.

Developer

Oh yeah I really like the idea with the pieces attacking, it would definitely add more difficulty and strategy. Im glad the chill vibes also came through. Marathon of puzzles is also such a good way to describe it, thats like the exact vision I had but thats a great name for it. Thank you so much for playing and your feedback.

I love it! I just confused that why isn't there a main menu and a level restart (maybe its about the game's genre idk)?

Developer

Kinda time kinda seemed good this way, maybe should have done it differently. Thanks for playing though.

I don't know how to play chess, but as soon as I opened the game, I knew what to do. The UI guidance is fantastic!

Developer

Thank you, I'm glad it was intuitive.

Really fun to play ! Could have been great for different pieces  to have their own little mechanic.
Little issue : I got an impossible level cause of a complete wall in the middle which force me to re-roll the map

Developer(+1)

Ah yeah, unfortunately couldn't really figure out a quick way to check if a board is valid/solvable so I tried making the chances of something being fully blocked of low but well. Anyway, thank you very much for playing.

A cute chess puzzle game, might've been a little more dynamic with moving pieces or something, since it felt weird having multiple pieces that didn't really make much difference from each other, but I really like the premise! Being able to reroll also made a lot of interesting decisions, and the extra tile types were a nice touch.

Developer

Initially I had some idea for the other pieces like at first there was a king and you would need to take out all the other pieces before taking out the king but I ended up not implementing it (half cause of time, half cause of it felt good without it). Anyway, thank you very much for the feedback and playing.

Nice simple game, cute art and nice music. Are the blue squares doing something?

Submitted(+1)

Oooh i see it in the description sorry

Developer

Thank you very much.

Cute concept and well polished! Would like to see how it would work with other playable pieces too.

Developer

Thank you very much.

I made it to board 12, Great game!

Developer

Thank you.

I like the idea of needing to zoom around and take pieces quickly, but perhaps some kind of extra threat could be  cool like a King piece constantly chasing you location. Great game though!

Developer

Ohhhh I liked that idea, might need to think about that if I ever come back to this game to develop it further.  Thank you very much for playing.

Very cool idea! It feels like blues are water so because they are difficult terrain takes more action like dnd. It was very fun! Great game :)

Developer(+1)

Thank you very much for playing. I like the water interpretation, I kind of had a couple idea for what else they could be but all of them looked kinda bad lol so ended up on the blue/water.

I enjoyed playing your game! It was fun to move through the different levels with the chill music playing. I was in a bit a flow state for a minute.  Also the goofy looks on the chest pieces were cute. I do think that charging less for tiles crossed in one movement would be good, since as it stands right now you mind as well be the king. there no reason to take advantage of the queens slide moves. Congrats on submitting!

Developer

Thank you, Im glad you enjoyed it. I was actually thinking about making two modes, one where it counts the spaces moved (like it is right now) and a second where it would count whole moves. Unfortunately didn't have time to add that and already had the balancing down for what there is right now soooo went with that lol.

Submitted(+1)

This was fun, well done! I love the drawings of all the pieces so much I wish I could get them on chess.com lol

Developer

Time for me to write some emails lol. Thank you very much for playing and Im glad it was fun.

I saw your embed didnt work and played out of curiosity, I love chess!! This is such a cute take on the game i love the art especially since you were on a time crunch, 10/10 queen is terrifying

Developer(+1)

Thank you very much. I was very happy that I managed to draw the pieces in time lol. The ones I had before were fineee but I'm way more happy with these. But yeah, thank you for playing and I'm glad you liked it.

Submitted(+1)

Very cool concept. I found myself calculating and trying to find the optimal path, but then also wondering if it's worth re-rolling the board...
So it felt like the mechanics of the game worked well together.

Developer

Oh that makes me so happy, I was really hoping people were gonna need to think about those things and make those consideration. Im glad you liked it.

I'm not great at chess, but it is a fun and challenging (while still accessible) game to solve! I didn't understand what blue squares do?

Developer(+1)

Im glad you enjoyed it. The blue squares take 3 move points to go over. I was struggling to communicate that through the game (and unfortunately blue was the color that looked the best sighhhh)
