Beautiful, and super fun!
Love the retro arcade style. Demon Robotron with upgrades.
One note: when there only 2 buttons (Buy/back), it can be difficult to tell which is highlited. Pulsing highlight or some other effect can be helpful.
Your MC is very cool. He fits the vibe of the game very well. Great game.
Very beautiful game, and I like the tune, I'd ramp up the enemies sooner it takes a while to even see the second enemy, and nothing creative was done with the theme. Overall its very enjoyable to play.
Good job Well done
please rate my game Flip it
Very cohesive and good looking artstyle. Feels nice to play! An improvement could be the shop navigation. I thought I would just click z when having selected the upgrade to buy it. Anyway, good job!
A very enjoyable game.
It's sort of in the style of older games, but more modern and beautiful.
I love pixel art, and I love Vampire Survivor.
That's why I give it a big like.
OMG someone made game with pico-8, that was unusual. And moreover game really enjoyable and have nice flow. GJ!
What a supercute way of bleeding out
Really cool entry! I loved the retro pixel art and vibes of this game. The weapon upgrades add a lot of juice to the gameplay and overall it didn't felt really repetitive
Cool survivor game, really brings the retro "Gameboy feel" with pico-8. I like the art style!
It's like... you're a vampire... surviving...
I've never used pico-8 but it's always lovely too see game made for it. The game is well balanced enough, but I found some upgrades to be unnecessary and even detrimental. For example the one that increases wave duration i found to be really detrimental, since you basically end up increasing your blood consumption by a whole lot. The damage increase is also overshadowed by the weapon upgrade, i found the weapon upgrade to be a better increase in damage rather than... the damage upgrade. I did manage to reach wave 30 and completed the game, mostly with weapon upgrades and decrease blood consumption upgrade. I also thought the refill all blood was a little overpowered, but since it increases in costs over time I thought it was fair. In conclusion, it's a game with really nice visuals, and also mechanically has a pretty solid foundation.
Interesting game. So this is the "survivor-like" genre of which I've heard so much. I really like the enemy art.
We both did one ticking clock to death that is accelerated by hits, and one that ends the level. Huh.
The art is great, but after a certain number of waves it would be nice to change the music.
Was glad to find a survivor game this jam, pretty fun gameplay/mechanic. The art, vfx and sfx were awesome as well. The music does not bother me too much but I do agree with the others’ point about it being repetitive.
Sadly I did not make it to the end (died on wave 21) since I was greeding a bit much :P. Again, the art is awesome.
Happy to see a Vampire Survivors kind of game. It was a bit unease to be stuck with horizontal attack for some time, but that's something I had to earn for, I always wished for many axes.
This game is a very nice 8-bit take on Vampire Survivors. The colours are really eye candy. HOWEVER , in my personal preference , the music was a little too repetitive and that got a little annoying.
Thanks! I’m glad you like the aesthetics. My bad for the OSTs, I’ll try to make them less repetitive as soon as I can. Thanks for the feedback! I really appreciate it.
Nice game, took me a few rounds to understand whats going on, but fun to play
Thanks for playing! We’re aware that some of the mechanics weren’t entirely clear, and we’re already working on improving a few of the dynamics. Thank you so much for the feedback!
Very cute game, could use a ranged enemy though.
A little clunky to control on PC without a controller.
Great are style though, the red pixel art makes the whole thing very cohesive.
Thank you for playing the game! There is a ranged enemy but it spawns after some waves. The game is also 100% playable on controller, as Pico-8 supports it. If it looked like it wasn't registering the inputs, it's probably because of Itch, as it does that very often, regardless of the engine used. Usually reloading the page and/or unplugging the controller and plugging it back works.
Great game! I love the artwork and retro style, espacially the animations! Sometimes it felt a bit overwhelming with a lot of stuff happening on screen at the same time. Nice work :)
Thank you, we made a lot of visual effects on purpose, but I see how they can feel too much
Fun classic game loop, great art, and very well polished. Awesome job!
Thank you, glad you liked it!
