This was a visually lush game with a very earnest narrative. I had trouble with the second photo for quite a while, though, and I'm really not sure you needed the picture taking minigame - the ever-looming countdown to grandma's operation haunted the game and was more than sufficient, I think. But wow, man, the final conversation between the two characters was a very deft way to cap off the story. Now, why is someone chopping onions next to me?

It was nice to see a contemplative game with a pretty atmosphere like this one. I couldn't help but find myself rooting for the characters to find whatever peace they could.
One thing I wasn't sure about: The framing of the second photo seemed very different from the memory. I ended up finding the right angle mostly by luck. Was there an extra clue I was missing?
This was a really pretty game, and the narrative and art direction are top notch! You really managed to capture the tone you were after, and the whole thing feels really cohesive. Nicely done!
2 minor things:
- I don’t know if the game needs the QTE for the camera shutter. There’s not really a narrative reason for it; and when I missed it, it kind of messed up the momentum of the story. Not a dealbreaker, but I would at least consider making it more forgiving so it doesn’t pull focus (haha) from the main story beats.
- For the flower picking section, I think the arrows may be backwards? The left arrows increase the number of flowers and the right arrows decrease, which is a bit counterintuitive.
All in all, very nice work!
Beautiful story. Brought back memories of my grandfather. I had a great time, but the second level was a little frustrating with the flowers and the position for the photo. I'm a sucker for narratives like this.
An incredibly well executed artstyle for a game jam.
I’m always impressed at people tackling serious narrative games for jams, since the inherent scrappyness of jam-projects makes going for atmossphere such a gambit. You really pulled it off, though - great work!
Really beautiful work! I absolutely loved the art style, and the artwork is gorgeous. Every scene feels carefully crafted and gives the game a very strong visual identity.
The art team truly created a work of art with the visuals in this game. Everything comes together beautifully and makes the whole experience even more memorable. Great job!
This game really looks incredible. It's not my genre, but surely well done. Good job!
Wow. I have no words. This game is incredibly made, and the balance between gameplay and storytelling is absolute perfection.
The whole game felt incredibly personal, and I felt that I could relate with everyone in the game. As I find myself in a similar position, this was a very emotional game for me to play, and even if it were short, it felt like I had played through the last days of someone precious.
Incredibly beautiful and the music only heightened the experience, wonderful job to the whole team.
A bittersweet story!! It was impressive you guys were able to create a game of this depth with all these mechanics in such a short span of time! Gameplay wise, I found myself often trying to interact with objects before they became interacteable, such as the coin (which was clearly going in the vending machine)- perhaps moving them a bit out of sight or reach would make it feel more coherent? Had a great time, thanks for sharing this!
Lovely thoughtful idea for a game! It took me a little while to realize that I needed to match the photo of the bench to move the story along, but after that I liked trying to line up the perspectives just right.
Absoloutely wonderful story, I'm so glad I got to play this! Thanks viho for submitting. The artwork is amazing too!
This was a nice narrative experience. It's a tad bit dialogue-heavy for a jam game, but the story was still nice and heartfelt. I like the variety in tasks from just taking pictures to picking up trash and arranging flowers. The art is also really nice and the piano sets the right mood. Probably my biggest suggestion if you try to make a full release out of this is to be careful with the use of billboard sprites as it makes it feel weird to try lining-up pictures.
Love the art style and premise. I admit I got stuck very early; I tried to snap pictures of the benches to match the photo in the upper right and tried to interact with the things in the park by pressing E but nothing seemed to progress the story. I'll try again after the jam.
