fun game and creative idea, i felt like the timer could’ve been a bit more forgiving in the later levels and i think if the camera was more zoomed out it would make the core gameplay even better, as it’d let you aim ahead! i also think the hook hitbox could’ve been more forgiving, as it’s especially hard to aim while you’re swinging around
all that said, great job!!!
Neat little game! I think some music to get you pumped up would really add to the game, and the first brain eating amoeba level was really annoying, but other than that great game!
Yeah, I definitely think we should've toned down that level. As for music, our thought process was that if we're submitting something for a game jam, it's better to have a game with no music than music with no game. But I'm glad you liked it though!
fair enough
Haha that was my level my bad
i really love the style of this, though some of the levels felt annoyingly difficult near the end, i think a big part of it is the hook's hitboxes being unforgiving
such an amzing game had so much fun playing this hard but not to hard to be super fun.
Would be amazing if you made this in to a bigger game!
Nice game, gets difficult quick so I appreciate an easy mode button. The art is very strong and stylish. The setting is super interesting. The main mechanic of grappling stuff is really fun. But I often found myself getting thrown beyond the next grapple point, that often ruined the rhythm. But it still does scratch the itch of wanting to redo a level as fast as possible. Great job!
So much creative style, even the main menu is inspired. Controls are great, challenge is good. I could definitly see a longer form of this game with more varied attachement points to grapple onto.
Awesome work.
This game is so stylish! Even the quit game button had some love put into it!
I love how clean the movement mechanic is here, it feels so good to chain a bunch of grabs a get through the levels quickly!
My biggest criticism is I don't like the big red brain worms you can't grapple onto. Aiming shots so that your body hits specific things isn't exactly easy with this control scheme without holding the button to slow down, which gets in the way of the fun of going fast, so having to do it a bunch got a little tiring. I didn't mind it for the enzymes since they're supposed to be a punishment for taking too long.
But it honestly wasn't that big of a deal, I'm just reaching for anything critical to say. The sounds, visuals, everything was super good. Oh and I guess some music aside from when you're quitting would have been nice.
this was cool. I dunno if you all were inspired by pathogenic or not. it’s very hard to play on a touch pad haha. I appreciated that you added an easy mode so I could actually advance some. the grappling hook through the body is pretty cool
Really like the way this looks. And a very satisfying gameplay loop. I like the grace period after countdown reaches zero.
I think that WASD could be replaced with a second mouse/controller interaction, to keep things a bit purer and more focused.
Nice work team!
Not my kind of game at all. Definite skill issue on my part :D I really liked the mechanics and the slingshot feel. Very cool!
Genuinely so sick. Reminds me a little of SUPERHOT. I love that when the timer ends, you don't just immediately lose. Makes narrow escapes feel really cool.
Thanks! I personally really enjoy the excitotoxicity mechanic. Maybe it's just my autism, but having the HORDE descend upon you is thrilling to me.
