How does your game fit the theme?
You play as a robot that has assimilated another robot into itself. The latter is constantly losing oil. Should either ran out, both die.

I looove how fast pasted everything is.  Really well polished, but really needs more play testing by someone other than the devs lol
genuinely it hurts having to wrap my head around: Q, E, F. They all can be genuinely replaced by 2 keys or even 1 if you push it.

Too much to think about at once, especially while having to dodge stuff at the same time. I was stuck on the shield guys because I was pressing E to steal him as a gun like the first one and nothing happened, it's not intuitive that you have to throw stuff at him with F.

Developer

I guess I do overdo it sometimes with the controls xD

Thanks for the feedback!

I almost quit playing when i failed two times in a row the rocket launcher section. Im gald i didnt, the next run i won the game :D

Art is very nice, you have to get used to the controls but in a few runs you understand them. Audio is great too. Overall its a short and fun game, congrats!

If you want to polish the game my suggestions are: a progression bar in somewhere the HUD or when you die like (4 of 7 rooms cleared), cause the player doesnt know if its a shortt game or a long game, and spending 5-10 minutes and seeing you are near the end makes you want to continue. And instead of putting the controls and mechanics in the description of the itchio page where half theplayers dont see it, it would be nice to show it in the sky or background of the levels or rooms gradually when you need it, so the player understands what to do with the shield enemies for example.

Also, you can try my game if you want, it just takes 5 minutes ;)

Hee-Ho. Nice game, good speed. Very cool music. But Shield guy blocks with his shield like he's protecting the last cup of coffee on the Earth

Developer (1 edit)

hahaha xD

Were you able to beat him, at least? I'm asking because some people have encountered a bug of sorts.

Lotta juice here, really cool! I had some issues with the shield guy, despite chucking the count at him many times I couldn't stun him. Which is a shame cause as I say this is super cool otherwise.

Developer

I'm afraid that if there is a bug with the shield enemy I can't seem to be able to replicate it and it works fine on my end, but I will try to look further into it to see if there are any errors!

Thanks for playing!

Hi, same thing here. I also really enjoy the art, atmosphere, game mechanics... It's fun ! But same, I couldn't stun the shielded enemy either. Could it be related to the fact I'm playing on Linux and maybe the game runs slightly differently here ? But as it's in brower I'm not so sure. I don't know if you're also on a different OS @Tylobop ?

I was also playing on web linux (steam deck) maybe that is why it didn't work, weird

Really like the vibes from the artwork, also is the Count a robot too?

Developer(+1)

Yeah, he's a robot too!

Omg a 2D fast paced new wave boomer shooter.

Though honestly I really wish the game was better tutorialized, it took me ages to figure out how to get past the shield enemies

Man there's so much to like here! There's clearly a lot of features squeezed in, I just wish the game would help teach me a bit more about how to use them! I struggled a lot with the first shield guy, until I looked at the controls on itch to find that you could throw the count to stun them. I'd be nice to see the game introduce the other mechanics to you more slowly and deliberately.

I was going to add exposition at the start but sadly had to cut a boss from the end and without it it wouldn't make much sense, but the general idea is that you play as a rogue robot which has stolen an "oil drinker model" (Count) and thus can heal from killing other robots!

Thanks for playing!

I have no clue what's going on, but the vibes are wild and the gameplay is snappy and responsive, so I'm satisfied ;P. Could use a bit more explanation as to what's going on, though.

Developer

I was originally going to have some exposition at the start but I didn't add it because it would be incomplete without another enemy existing in the game which I cut for time management reasons!

Anyhow, thanks for playing my game!

Nice game! I think the idea of carrying around the count is a fun take on it :) I didnt manage to kill the guy with the shield, I even tried throwing the count at him and trying to make the chandelier fall onto him :/

I like the visuals, audio sfx and music. Couldn't figure out how to get past shield guy.

Developer(+1)

You have to throw Count at him by pressing "F," that stuns him and makes him able to be attacked.

Ah ok. Was able to make it as far as the room with all the explosions and then to the right and up but kept running out of time. One thing that could use improving is there is an issue if you throw the count and count lands on the border of the zone i've noticed it keeps getting stuck in a place i can't reach because screen will shift out of the zone before i can pick em um. Maybe could fix by allowing count to be picked up from a slight distance, or by tweaking how the zone shift works. Oh and also would be cool if you could lock the mouse inside of the game area. My mouse wandered out of place a couple of times.

Game is kind of difficult. Might consider adding a mercy mechanic that each time you lose grants slighty more time on the next run. Oh and maybe some kind of visual hit indicator for enemies that take multiple hits to defeat.
