you should defo win, this had a great story, had me engaged for hours, i loved the metroidvania feel, You genuinely had me captivated for hours, Yeah the clock could have been better, and the could have been a bigger level,BUT, this was only made in 4 days, and it is soooo cool, I would love to see a full release, and definitely play it

I would love to work on a full version, but tbh don't really know how the timer mechanic would translate too a way bigger game. I'm currently planning on making a more standart metroidvania with similar movement to this one, but that game won't even come out in the next few years. Btw I know I purposefully made multiple ways to beat the game and a quite complex movement system, but didn't think anyone would spend that much time playing it.

This had really nice game feel in my opinion. I know from experience that getting platformers to feel good is not easy and in my opinion, the jump, move speed, accel, decel and other parts of the controls and movement felt really really tuned and played well.

I also liked the premise – the count down to live. It felt cool to basically ahve a time limit to explore in different directions. If I had to leave one note of feedback, it would probably be that I would’ve liked a “time left” or some indicator of when I would die. But in some ways it was also nice that it was missing since it allowed me to do the platforming without pressure. The downside though is that when I did die, it was often frustrating since I was super close to getting something and just wanted to retry a few more times from the start of the room. The visibility of when you’ll die or even just hinting at it could sort of taper the expectations, since that is after all the intended design and hook of the game.

Anyways, really nice submission, I had fun with it and the controls were impressive. Nice work.

The early progression was well designed with when certain abilities were unlocked, and where that naturally then led the player. I'm not very good at these types of games, but that's a skill issue. Nice job!

I like the jump mechanic how long you hold the higher the jump is, I like it

Unfortunately I couldn't get very far, dash didn't seem to work for me and without it I couldn't get past the first spike pit.

Awesome game, love the Camelot character! There was a bug: when I died, it would respawn me in the same room.  And the hit boxes on some of the spikes felt off

It's a nice game, i did finish it but i think it's because at some point the timer broke. Also there is one room with a wrong transition, but the movement feels nice. I'd liked to see the time before the next death, but sometimes it's a neat feature. Good job!

Had an urge to finish it however there was a bug where i was stuck looking at a chest for some reason and I couldn't even die. I like the metroidvania concept playing with a death countdown, good job!

I had a really fun time playing this game! I actually really like how there's no on screen timer, as it makes moments where you're not sure you can make it even more tense. I think maybe a noise indicating you're near the end of your timer would have added to the game as well, as it makes those high-stress situations even more high-stress! Overall, this is a really fun, well made game!

Pretty fun. Would've loved an on screen timer.

Its cool to see a metroidvania when the theme was countdown did not expect that. Cool idea and nice attempt for a small story. I believe having a HUD of the timer before dying would be good though as it feels random if you are not counting yourself.

Nice short platformer. Because the theme is count down, I understand that there is a timer. However, I think the timer might not be required. Finishing each of the platform-sections once is satisfying enough, especially for a game jam game. I did not like spending my time walking back towards each challenge when the time is up. Another thing could be to change the "lives going from 10 to 0" to "attempts going from 0 to infinity". Good players will have a low number of attempts, other players can finish it without having to worry about their progress being reset.

Neat to see another Metroidvania here! Haven't seen that many other people with this take on the theme. Though, I think it needs a HUD, and the difficulty felt pretty overtuned. Sometimes it felt difficult to figure out if I have the upgrades needed to progress or not. Ultimately I didn't finish the game just because after you run out of enough lives, your run is basically toast since you just don't have enough time. This is pretty demoralizing, and then you just have to do the same things again to get back to where you were before in the next 10 lives. I think the premise is good though, sorry if I may have criticized too much. :)

I love how the jump animation is just the mc spinning around

I like the animations for the player!

Cool concept and fun platforming, although a few jumps felt particularly tight - I wonder if I missed an upgrade?

The gameplay is good, but there wasn't a way to see how much time was left (I know that a lot of other people said that already).

I liked the movement! The game felt a little hard and I would have loved an onscreen timer, but neat concept!
