How does your game fit the theme?
Each step builds charge, but every split turns that stored charge into a countdown: the two eggs travel one tile for each charge point until it runs out. Where the countdown ends determines the possible rebirth positions—the chosen egg becomes the creature, while the other calcifies into a permanent block. The puzzles are about deciding when to begin that countdown and planning for where it will end.

really good idea and implementation.
the pixelart also looks very nice
What a cool idea! Also beautiful art and sound design. Most levels were on the easier side, but I think that makes sense. I feel like you could build some very challenging puzzles with this mechanic if you went back to it. Very well done!
Also having settings menu in a jam is just a massive flex, but good on you :D
Love the artwork it reminded me of pokemon mystery dungeon kinda was super nice, I found the egg mechanic a little confusing at first but definitely some real potential with some more levels and more twists :)
Cool game, unfortunately the game would only open in a tiny little window for me and wouldn't load full screen so I couldn't play past about level 4 because I couldn't see what was going on. I rated anyway but will definitely revisit this at some point.
Thank you for the feedback!
May I ask whether you were playing the WebGL version in your browser or the downloaded version of the game?
If it's not too much trouble, could you also share a screenshot of the issue? I'd really appreciate it, as it would help me investigate what's causing it.
I downloaded it within the itch.io app
It looks like there is an incompatibility between Unity’s WebGL template and the way the itch.io app runs browser builds. I have a few ideas for fixing it, but since the GMTK jam is currently in its voting period, I’m afraid we aren’t allowed to upload updated files.
In the meantime, this issue should not affect the native Windows version or the browser version played directly from the itch.io page. If possible, please try one of those instead.
I’ll investigate the problem further and publish a fix after the voting period ends. Thank you again for reporting it!
No worries, I gave you a good rating anyway
Really good! Super original idea and nice art. You were really alone??
Thank you! Yes, I was the solo dev on this one.
A very cute and beautiful game.
It's quite simple, or is it just me? Maybe that's a plus.
I already reviewed a similar game, but I liked yours better because of the graphics, music, characters, and environments.
You're amazing! Good luck with the jam!
Thank you for your kind words!
Yes, the current levels are fairly simple. If I continue working on the game after the jam, I'll definitely design more challenging ones.
You mentioned playing a similar game. May I ask which one it was? I thought the core mechanic was quite unique, so I'm curious. Hopefully it's not too similar. 😅
The puzzles are fairly simple and easy, but they stay interesting and engaging for the whole game. But the real highlight is the amazing pixel art and relaxing vibe.
Great job!
good game
I really liked this little puzzle game! The splitting mechanic is an interesting one and allows for some great puzzles. For the time limit of the jam, this game is really great, but I think if you wanted to expand it to a full release, some of the early puzzles can be cut or reworked. Most of the early levels feel too open-ended, like I don't really have to time the splits that carefully because I can walk my way out of most situations. Around the last quarter of the levels I think they start getting into a more appealing difficulty range where I actually have to plan out my steps. Overall, I thought it was great! There's a lot of really good potential here in the mechanics! Great work!
Wow! The splitting causing you to block off paths is a great puzzle mechanic. How do you come up with puzzles/puzzle mechanics? That's something I've been wanting to get better at.
Thank you for your kind words, I really appreciate it!
Honestly, I've spent most of my life chasing unique ideas, and I guess that eventually became my signature in game design as well. At this point, I'm not even sure I know exactly what I do to come up with them, haha!
If I had to give one piece of advice, it'd be to consume a lot of creative content—games especially, but also movies, anime, books, comics, and anything else that sparks your imagination. I also spend a lot of time thinking about why certain mechanics work, what makes them fun, and how ideas from completely different games or even different media could be combined in new ways.
That's what I've always done, at least.
Took me a while to realise I could choose when to split, but I love the sound design and the art direction too. The art reminds me of the pokemon mystery dungeon games :)
I forgot I could press space and tried to do a tonne of levels before I realised. But once I figured out what was going on, it was actually a pretty fun and novel puzzle game! Great job :D
Neat idea! I didn’t realize you could choose when to split off until level 17, which seems to be the first place where it is a hard requirement. I felt like some of the puzzles could probably be culled in order distill things down to new mechanics and new ways to use them. As others have said, the art here is really beautiful. It definitely carried the vibe of a strange creature that splits into different eggies.
Really interesting puzzle mechanics, not to mention the wonderful art and polish. Overall, great game!
Extremely polished in the art department, I will slide in this in my "hidden gems" folder
Creativity 5/5
Very clever idea. The eggs hatching it the countdown creates a lot of funny puzzles!
Gameplay 5/5
The pacing is very cool, the puzzles are very funny.
Audio 3/5
It is cool at the first time but after a while Its a bit repetitive and monotonous. Of course with more time this could be worked!
Graphics 5/5
Very cute graphics! With more variety through the time, it has a lot of potential!
Overall 5/5
I reallty enjoyed it!
really creative and fun game idea! the gameplay is intuitive and the artwork is pretty nice!
