I really like the concept of this game! It took me a minute to grasp the gameloop but ultimately the simple but well done graphics and great implementation of the movement really won me over! Very well executed :D

How does your game fit the theme?
Low-Score is a classic arcade, bullet-hell, score attack game but instead of aiming for a high score each round you must score lower. Creating a countdown in your score. If you fail to countdown your score then you lose and must start a new run

This was fun. The idea is really great one trying to get a lower score than before. The modifier balls are also a fun idea. There are some performance issues in the shop screen but i don't really mind that.
Found your game from your link on the reddit post. Neat idea. I realize now that the good strategy is to go high initially then keep trying to do well but stop short of the previous score. That makes it require more thought.
This is a really unique take on the theme! You have a timer that counts down for each round and also you want your score to count down as well! Your game feels very cohesive and fun to play, and I like that you have to balance your points for the balls that can help you in the next round vs. the point cap you have to be under :0 Great game!!! :D My favorite ball is the pink one that increases your last round's score :)
Super creative idea! I love the shop and the sound effects. :) Great work!
Incredible concept. When I saw the theme, I had quite a few ideas where it was "what if you try to do poorly instead of well?" but it never really clicked. Your take on it really clicks. I think the progressive nature of it really helps--the goal is to do well, then less well, and so on and so on. The shop is also brilliant.
This is a really cool concept and well executed. The onboarding is clear and simple, the gameplay is also clear and simple. My only confusion is if you need points to buy things in the shop but you dont want points, which is it? Are points good or bad? Loved the inventory of collected balls in the shop. The upgrades were interesting. The shop was never a decision though since I could afford everything (my first round I picked up a bunch of points because the premise wasnt clear yet). Overall really strong submission here. Great job!
Thanks for playing! The aim is to score as many points as possible without beating your previous rounds score. I appreciate this isn't explained too clearly!
The idea behind the shop is that you can buy balls but the cost comes out of your last rounds points, meaning you have a lower threshold for the next round.
Ah that is a critical piece of information I was missing. With that in mind, what is the end goal? Accumulate all of the balls in the shop or something? The effective best play would be on round one collect everything, then each subsequent round get just one less point right. That seems like a long gameplay session, and the goal still seems a little unclear to me. Anyways, neat game!
This was a great Idea, and I'm so happy I could play it on laptop, I like the core concept of how the points work, but great game for only 4 days.
Good Idea, but when I get to 0 score it like there is a bug that make me can't buy item in the shop
The idea is you want to try score as many points as possible without ever beating your previous rounds score. This isn't explained too well though unfortunately.
You want to score as high as possible in the first round and then aim to score high but not quite as high in the next round. Then keep doing that until you eventually lose
Core idea is really freaking good. It is explained well and sterring is really nice. But the game is too easy, so its very easy to get 0 score and I dont think you can have minus score? so thats a bummer, but what there is really solid. Well done
Thanks! The idea is that on the first level you want to try get as high of a score as possible and then get lower every other round!
The aim is to get as high of a score as possible overall without ever beating your previous rounds score. Your high score is calculated by adding each of your rounds scores together at the end. I do think this could have been explained better!
Try playing like this where you aim to get as close to your previous score as possible without ever beating it.
