Even though GMTK doesn't provide an official overall score, most teams put effort into every category. We made this ranking by averaging each game's category scores so everyone can easily compare their overall performance.

The atmosphere was really well done, like the art u used from the start to the overall game. I really liked the concept, and the game was well made. Good game

A well-written narrative-driven story with very polished visuals and audio.

Even though I played through the game just twice, I did find the mini-game to be very challenging! I unfortunately couldn’t manage to recover the last file. Could be chalked up to a skill issue though!

Really cool game!

This is hidden GEM over here!!! This game is so criminally underrated and deserve more than just 20 rated.

I adore the art and animation, the game looks so well made visually

I do have some issues with the gameplay side of things tho, the whole maze thing feels slow and can get frustrating, wish you got like slightly more information on where you need to go because right now its just complete luck and I keep losing on the 4th day. I will say I like that you didnt do the regular chasing enemies, they seem to kind of chase you sometimes? Im not too sure but either way less frustrating to deal with.

I wish I was able to get the good ending but I just find the gameplay section a bit too frustrating to play over and over.

Sorry if the criticism sounds too harsh, I completely understand game jam games can have flaws, they always do, even mine but I really do like work you guys have put in here, hope you continue to do more game dev, this was one of the most polished looking games ive seen in the jam so far!

Completely understandable criticism, unfortunately the difficulty/inconsistency of finding the last tree was something we realized a little too late in development. We have a post-jam update planned that should make it easier + an option to start from any day once you've reached either ending.

I don't even know where to start here, just wow. I was pretty excited just from the thumbnail art alone, but I was not ready to get that invested. The art here is so good, and the sound design is very subtle, but so effective with how the ambience fades in and out locationally during the dives. The whole thing oozes with such a cohesive aesthetic. I do unfortunately feel like the primary countdown doesn't mesh in the best way with the rest of the game. It's great at adding tension and weight to what's happening, but I ran out of time on the final dive and it just felt a little anticlimactic. I just don't have the time to restart the whole game right now, which makes me really sad, cause I want to see the rest of the story so bad! I'm definitely coming back to this after rating is over to finish it.

Holy shit this is good

I loved literally everything about it. I can't even find the right words to say so i won't lmao

This was really really good, my nr1 pick for best GMTK game this year

Really cool game! I was sucked into the story immediately, and it always felt tense. I wish there was a way to redo levels, or at least save the game, as it sucks to have to replay the whole game to get the true ending if you fail to find one of the nodes. That being said, it's one of the most polished GMTK games I've played so far!

That atmosphere created a lot of interest and let me wanting to know more, great job!

amazing artstyle

Absolutely lovely game! I adore the way the story slowly unfolds, the graphics are wonderful, and the countdown was a great way to add tension. On the other hand I almost wish the game wasn't on a timer, if only so I could look through the environments slower! If i had any criticism, it would be: add a cue that you're at least near the tree. A simple audio cue fading in slowly could be a great way to let the player know they're on the right track. Great job!

Very atmospheric and liminal, an incredible vibe setting for such a short time to make.

Congrats!

Awesome! My highest rated game until now. The art direction goes hard, the animations are very well done, the blend of pixel art with higher resolution graphics and 3D. The story of course, is great. I wish I didn't fail one level tho, because now I couldn't get the true ending :( Idk if you already knew each others or created your team for the jam but as an artist and writer, I'd be delighted to work on something one day with you guys.

Incredibly meaningful take on the theme, great narrative, awesome visuals. It's my favorite game in the Jam for now !

Really awesome game, visuals are really awesome! I love how you did the side on perspective when in the real world. The animation for initiating the apnea dive is so cool. I really liked the story but unfortunately I don't think I got to see all of it, I just couldn't find the last tree at all. This happened on the second day but  on the third day it gave me a chance to still get the seconds day's tree which I liked, but unfortunately on the last day I couldn't find the tree either. Moving around in the apnea dive was fun, especially like the head tilt when moving sideways, the music was nice and there was some really cool looking rooms. But yeah, I could not find that tree for the life of me lol. I think it would be cool to have some spray paint  mechanic or a footstep sort of visual to see or mark where you've been. I did try to go to many new places as possible but I'm sure I went through many pits I had already fallen into. Really great game overall though, I really liked it despite not making it to the end. Loved the vibe, excellent work!

The art is insanely beautiful!! The Apnea Dive part feels like I'm in the backrooms of Chlorine's mind. I love the clicky sound effects. The story is amazing as well, incredible game!
