How does your game fit the theme?
In Hyperdriver, you are at the whim of your spaceship's hyperdrive that serves to both alter your defense systems and control your next hyperjump . It does all this by the use of uncontrollable countdowns!

Main menu be like:

Love the changing weapons, but the screen felt a little bit too zoomed in.

Haha! Thanks for playing! Nothing a quick variable tweak can't fix when it comes to the camera :) Glad you like the changing weapons idea (and the main menu)!

Cool game! Has nice incremental feel to it, enjoyed it much! Screen scaling was a bit off for me, but other than that - really good

Glad you enjoyed and thanks for playing!! (Apologies about the screen scaling...! A friend actually encountered this, too. In their case, they were zoomed in to the tab from when they were checking out other projects. If you're in the browser and the scaling is off, check if you're zoomed in by looking for a magnifying glass top right of your search bar (on Google))

This is really impressive to have made in such a short time! Fun to switch between weapons constantly, and there are a lot of upgrade options.

It does scale quite fast, suddenly you are overrun. And it would be fun to be limited in what upgrades you can pick, now you can just go the same build every run.

Developer

Thanks for the kind words and for playing! Interesting thought about upgrade limiting. Maybe the shop could randomize in upgrade stock? Maybe sectors could be bunched in groups that give different buffs for each of the defense systems? I appreciate the feedback! :D

Solid twin stick shooter. The idea of your attack type changing on a count down timer while also having an overall timer is a good use of the theme. I like the slow expansion of enemy types too. The camera did feel a bit too zoomed in and the playspace was pretty small but those are pretty minor things. Nicely done overall!

Love the vibe this game is giving me!

I really like the idea of different bullet types every 10 seconds! Interesting concept!

Congrats on your game! I enjoyed the cool modifiers and mechanics. Well done!

Really fun game. My window size was wrong for some reason, so parts of the screen were cut out. Could still play the game though. The music was good. Also liked how the ship changed colors when on a different mode. Great game!

I love this, it's very addictive, I played a little too much xD. But I really enjoyed exploring different strategies, I kind of forgot to upgrade my health though, which made me regret my decisions later xD

A fun game !However, would have liked to be able to change my resolution, i was not able to see the entire screen while playing, but still really fun

I liked the switching weapons concept, but I never really found what I was shooting, and it felt a but lackluster in my goal. Great concept though

Developer

I'm unsure of what you mean by "never found what you were shooting"... how many rounds in did you get? (Thanks for trying out the game in any case! And I like the cat pfp :D )

Overall, really fun game! I enjoyed playing it, though I wish the camera were zoomed out ever so slightly more.

Developer (1 edit)

Thanks for playing and for the feedback! I get what you mean about the camera.

Now that I think about it, it'd would be cool if the camera were to zoom out as you get more speed upgrades :)
