Once it clicked for me, it became a very clever puzzle game.
The sound effects and music were great too.
Nice one!

How does your game fit the theme?
The game involves a clock that you have to manipulate every level to count down slightly further than before. In the meantime, various apocalyptic scenes play out in the background.

Nice one!
Definitely one of the most unique and fun games in the jam. I love when puzzle games make me feel like a genius for figuring out really simple stuff, and this one certainly accomplished that! I love how many different mechanics and twists you were able to use on such a seemingly simple idea, and this game also has a really cool vibe with the dotted art and what I'm pretty sure is adaptive music. Great work on this!
Really cool game! quite a unique puzzle mechanic at least to me it is!! really awesome work!!
Such an interesting game! The art, sound, story, and concepts were all fantastic. However, it was a bit too difficult for me, so I’m sad I couldn’t experience everything it had to offer
I was so bad at it but I had a go and the gameplay seems so clever. I really love that despite my skill issue. The theme is fantastic, the visuals are amazing with the clock but the background help the narrative and complement the gameplay very nicely. The music was also a good fit. Great job! :)
Love this, the game is really challenging but feels satisfying once you figure it out. The artwork is incredible and the audio is fitting and not disruptive to the gameplay. Just some notes below
2 Overlapping audio tracks on the transition from 2nd -> 3rd stage and 4th -> 5th
Even with the visuals on the actions it took a bit to figure out how they function as it was not clear to me (tutorialization would be nice)
Would like for the revert previous action to show if possible what the previous action actually was, sometimes it's pretty easy to get lost in the sauce if you need to revert several actions in a row
The play button looks cool. Didn't realize it was a puzzle game.
Took me a while to understand the game, once I did and it clicks it's very satisfying to solve these puzzles.
Love the game. Great choice of art style.
My game has the similar 7 segment digit mechanism but I took a different aproach. You can check it out.
I read others' comments and I also found the half lit segment confusing. Understand your intention to help player identify the segment to work on to achieve the goal, but I feel it creats more confusion than help, especially when player trying to feagure out the action on their first turn (player see different result when applying same action on the same number but different digit). Personally I feel you can remove the half lit hint, make the action consistant so that player feagure out the action faster. After that it's their job to compare the current state with the goal, no need to give them hint.
So happy to hear that you enjoyed!
You're just right about the half lit segments. It was intended to be a tool to help players parse the game state, but our inexperience with shaders in Unity sort of cooked us on that front and we didn't have enough time to really polish there. If we take this game to full status we'll absolutely want to do more with this aspect of the game.
Really cool game. Figuring out what all the symbols do and learning how to manipulate the clock is very rewarding. Also loved the audio. Great work
this game is really fun! i went in expecting a game much different than what i got, and im very thankful for that admittedly! such a soothing, relaxing little puzzler that caught my attention way longer than id like to admit. my one critique is the half-lit segments, i didnt quite understand they were intended to represent untili checked the comments. otherwise, really amazing work for all involved!! genuine 5 stars on all fronts with this one.
Yeah none of know how to use shaders, and we definitely screwed it up. Every one of us agrees with you, we are sorry about that, it's one of the first things we would change if we could. (I was actually trying to solve that issue at the end of the last day and we couldn't figure out how to apply our changes to 22 levels in time due to how the segments were built).
Thanks so much for the kind words and the review!
This was super cool! I had trouble figuring out exactly what to do at first, but once I started to understand the symbols, I really started moving. It kind of reminded me of Arrival if you've seen that movie.
Amazing concept and execution! I loved the pointillism art and the overall tone.
It can be tricky to figure out (easier if you ever took any electronics class and had to code one of these), but I disagree with many of the comments, perhaps it only needed a first stage with 2 choices instead of 3. The only think that really annoyed me are the half-lit segments, not sure if it's an stylistic choice but made the game unnecessarily harder, for the wrong reasons.
Really nice game!
Thank you for your interest and kind words!
It's a very valid point about the darker clock segments. We were new to Unity's shader functionality, and some of this is a side effect of our ignorance. If we were to bring this to a full length game, customization for the way segments display would be an excellent feature to add--let the players decide how they want it to look so they can better focus on the puzzles! :D
Yeah that's a super fair critique. I think everyone on the team agrees with you as well, we just ran out of time. We also want to have differences between unlit segments that are supposed to be lit vs unit, and emphasing the voids of the unlits. We all actually don't have to most experience with shaders, and some last minute colour adjustments to fix something else caused this issue.
Thanks so much for playing, and the kind words.
The design of this is so beautiful and cohesive. I definitely found myself brute forcing the puzzles in the beginning but I slowly began to understand and with that understanding came a hard headed need to solve them. Really well done guys!
wow!! extremely creative, i really wonder what inspired this! I'd love to see this expanded upon more narratively, great work!
If this game grows into a full release, I'd personally love to build a more cohesive narrative. We started growing something with complex tone and overall theme, but much of this the player needs to infer from the interplay of images and text. With more time and effort we could reveal more and hopefully make something really satisfying.
A beautiful style, simple yet elegant. It took me a little while to understand it; some of the puzzles are really difficult.
It's awesome, the feel is really good. Took me a bit to realize what I need to do.
