How does your game fit the theme?
Clock Out is a one-minute boxing showdown where time is your greatest enemy. The champion wins if the bell rings. Your only hope is to make him miss, freeze the clock with perfectly timed counters, and knock him out before time expires.

Very nice art. Fun mechanic. Would be fun to see this developed further.

the animations in this are crazy smooth! dodging and landing hits feels super satisfying and the art style is really well done. it would've been cool to have some background music to hype up the fights and maybe a bigger twist on the jam theme but honestly the core boxing gameplay is really solid. awesome work!

The animations and the feelin of this game is great, honestly really enjoyed just ducking about and watching how smooth it all looked

First of all, huge congratulations on the 2D animations, they're incredibly well done! The animation quality is excellent, and the timing of each frame matches the hit feedback perfectly, making every punch feel really satisfying.

The only thing I probably would have added is a twist to the core boxing gameplay, perhaps something tied to the Countdown theme to make it feel a bit more unique.

Overall, it's a simple game, but it's executed really well, especially considering it was made during such a short game jam. Great job!

Pretty simple but well done, I wish there were more of a twist on the boxing theme that incorporated the jam theme in a clever way, but the gameplay was pretty fun and engaging all the same. Nice entry!

Love the simplicty of the mechanic with the theme! Great game!!

beautiful animations and styling on the characters, the game feel is very nice when you land punches !

Developer

Thank you for playing! Very proud of the animations, it was one of the major reasons for me to picking this idea. Would love to have dialled up the hit effects.

good job on this jam, reminds me of mike tysons punch out

Developer

Thank you for playing! I had never played them, but watched a few play throughs to get inspired. Feel like I could take it and make it my own in the future.

The moves were beautifully animated!

Developer

Thank you for playing! I'm very proud of how swaying from left to right quickly looked lol

Gorgeous visuals, would have been epic with a stirring soundtrack behind it.

Developer

Thank you for playing it. The whole time I'm developing it I'm singing the Rocky themes thinking if only I could write something close to this haha

Submitted

I'd be happy to contribute some music after the jam if you wanted to develop it a little further, just give me a shout.

10/10 game. Short, challenging and fun. Great job

Developer

Thank you for playing! Was the first jam I've done where I had an idea I liked and stuck to it haha

Submitted(+1)

The boxing is pretty fun! It's just the right amount of challenge and once you get the hang of it, it's nice

Developer

Thank you for playing! I had tested it so much that it became very easy to win even on the harder variation.. But I think I just managed to find that balance with the time I had.. there was another "3rd phase" where he feinted but had to cut it.

Wow the art looks so cool, very satisfying when you land a punch!

Developer

Thank you! I added the comic effect last minute just to give it something of a unique identity that was quick to do. But was very proud of the game feel in general.. So much more I could've done to push it further

Ridiculously polished art and style. How do you even pull this off within a few days!!

Developer (1 edit)

Thank you for playing! It's my "specialty" I feel and picked the idea where I can really do something quick and effective lol The characters are the same 3d model that ive modelled and textured to look flat to give the "hand drawn" look. More prep time BUT the speed at which I can do animations that look "good" is alot faster.

Cool Visuals I love smear and the shaders!

Developer(+1)

Thank you for playing! It's just a 3d model I've rendered off and textured it to look flat with outlines. I really wanted to push the smears further but because I rigged him quickly, I couldn't get it to look any better haha The punch smears work really well though, theyre just 1 sprite I used a warp on

Crazy good! Perspective is a bit hard to get used to though

Developer

Thank you for playing! I wanted something a little different and more cinematic, but agree it made the readability of the attacks a little harder.  Have some ideas on how I could adjust it to make it better, especially as I loved the game feeling at higher speeds.

This game felt amazing to play, it reminded me of my ufc days, maybe it could have used some faint soundtrack but I dont even know how useful it would actually be, the animations and sfx were very satisfying too

Developer

Thank you for playing! Music wouldve added so much to game especially if it built up as you got close to the end. It's missing some crowd interaction too which wouldve pushed it further..but very proud of it in the end.

Bro! I loved it, remind me of the dodge system in Godhand, gave me nostalgia, hope you continue developing this game whatever the gamejam result be, looking forward!

Cheers!

Developer

Thank you for playing! There were definitely alot of ideas I had that I cut, but might develop it further later on.
