Would make an insane multiplayer game, although by itself I don't think it'll be enough, maybe in something like super mario party? It could also make sense in a warioware-like. The modifiers that you buy is really great to spice things up, although I think I like it more when I'm on the receiving end.
Someone else mentioned turning this into a board game of some kind, sound like a good direction for something like this! Good stuff!
This was really fun! It would make a great game to play with friends. There's a lot of potential for even more modifiers to make it more tactical and strategic too. Great job!
A simple concept, but surprisingly addictive! The cards add plenty of variety. Great work!
This was fun and more challenging than I thought it would be. The power ups really add a lot to the game. I think this could be a fun local multiplayer game with controllers.
I enjoyed playing your game! The idea of push your luck with count down timers is very creative, and has a lot of depth. I also enjoyed the drafting as a reward for pushing your luck, it gave the game a strategical edge. I think this game would be awesome with multiplayer, since you could see your friends react to the cards. Also I found a bug, you can still draft cards when it is not your turn. Congrats on submitting!
Woah, I haven't seen that bug! Thanks for letting me know and thank you for playing and providing feedback
You must be kidding my! What an great experience and surprise how exciting it was. Awesome entry! And I won so...
Nice! I could see this being a super popular mobile-assisted board game, where everyone downloads an app and connects to a shared session, and then they can see their timer on their phones along with the modifiers etc between rounds. There's potential there!!! Fun time.
That's a neat idea. I've wanted to do something in that vein for a while. Can't believe I didn't even consider this could be it! Thanks toadmaster :)
Wow wow wow! This would kill with friends! The sabotages really made it really interesting, although I think I accidentally burned myself a few times because I was in the lead!
You did a great job! Game feels polished and have smooth gameplay, idea with cards and four players on the table give nice alternate to "Buckshot Roulette", i think it can have good future. But i think u should add something strategic like it brings "Buckshot Roulette". For example, u could decrease time of the round and time-gap between players turns, so it will add more dynamic and intense for game. In addition, u can bring "reverse card" to reverse turns order, or "random turn" to add more adrenaline to players, that dont wait their turn will be next.
Really nice game, good luck with project!
Ooh I like both of those additions. Thanks for the suggestions and for playing! I haven't played Buckshot Roulette yet so I'll give that a go for more inspiration
Cool game. Looks very polished. Could be a good couch party game, when having friends over. Good work :)
Cheers! The graphics and art style still truly need figuring out but I tried to make it at least "neat" along the way, so I appreciate your comments.
Great game idea, the only things I'd really want to see would be someway to maybe play with friends, online or hotseat could be cool, and maybe a few extra cards in the deck as I never really felt the need to reroll what was in the shop
Thanks. The card system is fully setup and ready to throw loads in there. Ran out of time :(
Spent too long creating a system to cater for it rather than actually churning out cards. I'm still getting used to Game Jam mentality.
I completely get it, it's my first time doing a Game Jam so I'm also not used to the mentality, but you made a great game and I'd love to see where it goes from here if you do decide to develop it further
Easy and engaging concept, nice and tense gameplay loop. Will reiterate what another reviewer said in that the bots were a bit easy. I'm also not sure what the value of obscuring the timer/sound of a bot, who presumably runs on some other logic than interpreting audio/visual cues. Also also, even when I purchased protection from modifiers, I still got hit by clock obfuscation in the round immediately following the buying phase? Not sure if that's a bug or if I misunderstood its functionality.
Regardless, still enjoyed it quite a bit. I think the core concept of using random modifiers to confuse or misdirect someone in a relatively simple timing contest is a strong one. Good job!
Wow, thanks for playing and for the detailed feedback. Yes you hit the bug that I didn't notice before submitting to the game jam. I really wish I had turned the AI's difficulty back up after testing too!
The bots could be a bit smarter but otherwise this was so much fun! So simple but yet so effective! Great work!
Thanks, appreciate the feedback!
Ah, I had a feeling I'd find another game with this concept :D
The bots never last more than 2 or 3 seconds; it makes the game a bit too easy.
Thanks for playing! I gave yours ago and enjoyed it. Reached the end possibly after all the playtesting of my own game, and yeah thanks for that finale :D
I have the systems in place to make the bots harder and/or more risky but I left them in easy mode basically when I uploaded. My mistake. Thanks for the feedback
Such a smart way to utilize the mechanic! The AI is really well done, it doesn't feel cheaty or too dumb.
I actually whipped up the timer stopping game as a prototype early on in the ideas phase, then proceeded to spend too much time playing it!
I actually created a timer stopping game, and I'm looking for others like it !
Simple and great game, well polished. Great job!
A polished game that executes the theme in the best way possible. I wish the bots were stronger. Well done!
Simple yet fun game. The first gamble oriented game I have tried in the jam and loved it. The modifiers do add extra dimension to the game but was confused when some modifiers applied to myself instead of opponent turns out was bug but other than that enjoyed it.
Yeah, bug sorry. I think I would really highlight which player each modifier is going to target in future.
A simple but very effective and addictive concept! Buying buffs and debuffs at the end of each turn is really cool, and the whole system works well! And the 5-second timer is actually really well-balanced—it’s neither too long nor too short!
Also, it might be nice if the AI took a little more risk or was a bit more aggressive, since it’s maybe just a tiny bit too easy right now, but other than that, it’s excellent!
Thanks for playing and for the feedback! Admittedly I turned the difficulty down for testing and never actually put it back up or made one of the players particularly tough. All do-able though in a second iteration after the jam.
