This makes a pretty good concept for a game! But in practice it falls a bit flat. I only have two problems with this. 1 is that you can't string jumps together, which I assume is because your checking when w or space is initially pressed if the player is touching the floor and not if the player is touching the floor and w or space is pressed. 2 is that when ledge grabbing (I assume it's ledge grabbing) you can't go down, only up or to the left or right. But pretty good game otherwise.
Thank you so much for your feedback! I´ll keep this in mind if i decide to work on the game in the future!!
I really like the art , the background looks very nice ! Music works well with the style. Choosing which battery to go for is a bit of trial and error , but i don't mind it at all ,that's the challenge .
The controls seem a bit floaty , snappier movement would make it a bit easier to navigate.
Good job on your first GMTK ! 😁
Thank you soo much^^
I really like the theme of having to decide whether a battery is worth the time to collect or not! And the robot is soo cute. I didn't notice the battery in the top-right at first, I think changing its color might help with that! The slippery also makes the game really challenging. Good job on your first solo game jam!
Yess I wasn´t happy with the battery design, but the time was running and i couldn´t change it in time...Thank you so much for playing and your kind words<3
The art is nice. Not too sure about the design of having the player go to wrong batteries by trial and error and then slowly piecing together a route from that. I think the gameplay would also be better if the movement was a little tighter and the jump less floaty. Definitely making it so you can do short jumps by pressing the jump button quickly would have made a lot of sections less finicky. Still, it was satisfying to get further and further. I did get stuck at a certain point unfortunately. Congrats on your submission.
Thank you so much for your feedback! Yes I think i should either add more context or change the movements slightly^^
The robot was very slippery and the batteries at the dead-ends were a bit mean. But thankfully there weren't so much obstacles, I made it to the end in a couple of minutes. Good game.
Thank you for playing!!
Really lovely art, the background animation is a nice touch. Definitely a challenging platformer, I admittedly couldn't get very far. Nice work and keep it up!
Thank you so much!!
Cool! full screen doesn't render well though. i love the art.
Ohh you are right, i didn´t even noticed that! Thank you for pointing it out and for playing^^
Loved the artstyle and music. I don’ mind the slippery movement but sometimes it seemed there’s a little input lag. And as others suggested maybe it would have been better to make it a little easier. Another thing maybe, since if you make a little mistake you won’t be able to make it, maybe a quick restart level button would be handy. Anyway, overall i think the game has a very good direction
Yes that would be important and the next thing to implement! Thank you so much for your feedback and for playing
Not bad! Interesting visual style, I quite like it. Same for the music. The movement felt a bit unresponsive and slippery at times, though that could have been your intention, I don't know. Decent take on the theme with having those batteries increase the countdown. A pretty good attempt for your first jam! :)
Thank you very very much^^
Cool mechanic having the countdown increase when you take batteries! I would recommend having less slippery movement and also making the game a little easier - especially in the earlier levels where having to optimize your gameplay from the start can be a bit discouraging. That being said, great job!
Okay i´ll keep this in mind! Thank you for playing and for your feedback^^
The art and music are good. But it would be better if the movement was a little less slippery. Overall great game tho 👍
Thank you for your feedback! I think if i would continue working on this game, I would change the movement slightly..
The music and art are great. I think that the slipperiness of the movement adds to the game and something about the movement feels very satisfying to me.
Thank you so much for playing^^
Very nice art style and love the music !
Great job!
+ Hope to try our game
thank youu!!
love the music and the visuals! low gravity got me dead several times, but I got it!
yayy! thank you so much for playing^^
cute visuals!! I enjoyed the slippery mechanics :)
Everything fits the theme really well!
Thank youu<3
Very cute art <3 sadly for a little metal dude the character is incredibly floaty and slippery which makes the whole experience rather frustrating, also sometimes i got stuck at the edges of the plattforms. But I enjoyed the atmosphere and am always very smitten by parallax scrolling backgrounds. The character is very appealing and charming! Making this solo was probably super stressful so good job!
Thank you so much for your feedback! Yes, I was really thinking if I should change it, but in the end I think the game would be way too easy without it... Also I didn't have much time to implement a story, so that's something I really would like to work on. In my mind the ground was slippery and because the robot was already struggling with a defect battery it couldn't stabilize properly. But since I ran out of time I could really explain the story.
But I am so happy I could upload at least something, even if there's so much missing...Thank you so much again for playing and your feedback^^
Nice visuals. First I didn't like the slippery platforming, but after some time it was actually super fun.
Thank you!!
love the art style of the game, very cute! its a fun concept for the theme, i couldnt tell if my battery was draining or not but the platforming/jumping feels very clean and satisfying!
thank you so so much<3 basically if the timer runs out, the core battery breaks
