It’s a little bit unforgiving, but I had a lot of fun with some of the “outside the box” puzzles, it reminded me of the joys of finding the secret pipes in Mario!

good "outside the box" levels

I second the comment about not being able to get the key in that level. Good game up to that point.

Got stuck on the level where you have to spring off the right side of the screen.  Can't get the key.  The music was also super quiet/staticy for me.

Really good execution though.  Nice level build up to teach the mechanics.  Love that gorilla sprite.

It's a simple platforming game! I like the premise and theme of the game, it's a little absurd (it's a compliment, goofy but a good goofy) but also fits nicely with the theme of the jam! I like the effects on the numbers when counting down, it's pretty polished. The red effect is fine since it really happens only when I'm close to dying and by then I should be close to the door anyway, but keep it in mind if you plan to keep working on the game!

Some sound effects would've given the game a lot of polish though. Currently the audio is quite boring! I like the rising suspense in the background as the timer goes down, but more audio is needed! For example some audio for the last three seconds, audio for hitting the springs, getting the key, opening the door, etc etc. More audio like this and the game will be a lot more polished! I think that's the only key thing missing at this point.

Still it's a short and fun experience!

Simple and straightforward, but it works well. I agree with another comment about coyote time. Having the countdown in big red in the middle of the screen, in contrast with the rest in black and white, works really well. It's just missing some sound effects and a catchy tune — I think that could really add a sense of urgency for the player. Good job overall!

Cute lil game! Last level was pretty hard. Are you supposed to hit your head on the top spring?

I'm torn on the vignete at the end because on one hand it makes it feel epic, but on the other hand having it fully opaque means you really can't see yourself anymore which can completely screw you

Yeah, that was the solve. I definitely think I over engineered that one.  I think it was two interesting puzzles, in one pretty bad puzzle.

I feel like the vignette only kinda works because the game is so short.  Any longer and I’d be concerned my playtesters would strangle me 😂

Thanks for the feedback!  It’s very appreciated!!

nice stuff. the levels are very clever, and well polished. I whish there was a bit of coyote time on the jumps but that's a bit tricky to implement with only 4 days. the red vignette over the screen at the 3 second mark is very nice.

Developer

Yeah, you’re 100% right.  I watched a mate play test, and he was getting mad at a jumps, so I made that jump easier but thinking about it, that would have been a way better solution.

Thank you about the vignette. Please no one ever ask to show how sloppy the programming is, it’s embarrassing. 😂
