The concept is pretty cool and the bones of the game are there, but I think it could use some more iteration on the basic mechanic of 'reveal new tile' and 'go to tile', maybe a better control scheme like clicking around the player and if there isn't a tile then spawn one of a certain type there (based on player selection), otherwise go there, I think that could be a much more natural-feeling movement system. Otherwise really well done on the tutorial and the basic mechanics, the roguelite genre fits a game like this with potentially really difficult enemies, although its not explained where the people are coming from or how they get to keep their relics, but overall its a good game!
This one's pretty neat. I clicked on it right away because I thought the art in the capsule was cool. I definitely like the idea of a more turn based board game like feel of this, which is something new (to me) to see in this jam. I kept getting bad rolls and dying, so if you work on this after the jam I hope you can do something with a bit more player agency for combat. Other than that, keep up the good work!
Interesting concept, was fun to play. Nice work!
Same as previous comment : "I didn't discover placing level 2 and level 3 tiles for far too long"
It's impressive to have achieved such a high level of polish on your own in such a short time! Well done!
I really enjoyed this game! I felt like the progression was really nice, and although I didn't discover placing level 2 and level 3 tiles for far too long (maybe I just didn't go to the right hex or click on the right thing? I'm still not sure why I got the popup explaining it when I did...) once I did things really took off. I enjoyed the risk/reward of fighting the stronger enemies, although I do wish there was some kind of retreat option for when fights started going sideways. There were enough learning moments to keep me engaged and the art/sound design were fabulous. Really, really polished entry, major kudos.
A few issues. When you start a new expedition, your placement progress stays. Idk if thats intentional or not but I feel like if you die, the whole game should reset. Second, I didnt like how you could die from pure propability and you have no way to control it or not. Other than that, its really cool and impressive for your first solo jam!!! This is only my third and I think yours is better than mine. The art and audio is cool and I like the ambiance and the story! Good job!!!
Nice idea with rolling the dice. Good work considering it was your first solo jam
Please play and rate my game as well.
Great concept ! i like the fact you can get back your relics with the next expedition. I would suggest to add some binding to move and place it can be a bit boring when travelling far :)
Pretty cool spin on the idea!
very fun concept and nice way of "how to express it". and very easy to know to how to play
Cool game. I had luck with my first guy and thought that I am imortal bs I had full hp.
This is awesome for a first time solo jam! I got really sucked in, the atmosphere is super awesome and unsettling. I got stuck at the boar which seems to be impossible to beat
