I think it is a really fun spin on the genre :)

I had a lot of fun with it, and enjoyed the chill music while playing it.

Will admit I think it got a little too slow at a few points, which made it hard to continue through those parts.

Overall I think it is a really good game! Just needs a little more balancing imo :)

Developer

Thank you for playing! Yea i admit the balacing is not my best skill lmao, especially in a jam without play testers lol.

Thanks for the review :)

nice! i'm a big fan of clicker and tycoon games, so this was right up my alley. i was only able to play for a little bit, but i'm going to come back and try to get further!

Developer(+1)

AHH thank you I'm glad you found it clickery-idly enough ! I wasn't sure the balancing was right!

Thank you for playing!

What I really like here is to be able to choose where to place the black hole! It is very satisfying to be able to go chase that hidden matter ^^

I loved the design of the black hole; I love the colors and the shape. However, I do feel like the matter particles are a bit too simple visually; I would have loved to have the same design style as the black hole one.

Developer

Eh i understand but i'm not the artist and she was overwhelmed but how much stuff there was to do lmao. We started a bit late and that's how it ended up looking like. Thank you for playing tho :)

I feel like I might be the bad guy in this story... nah, it's probably fine. All's fair in the name of making more paper clips.

I wish the matter spawned more frequently, it felt like I had too many black holes but no matter to eat.

Developer(+1)

HAHAHA yea i had Universal Paperclip in head while making the game lmao!

I also had the issue of matter not spawning frenquently enough but i'm not that good at balancing lmao, so i just said "mah, you consume the universe, it's bound to have less mater anyway"

Spoiler

On another note, when you finish the game you're faced with a choice : consume the black hole (quit the game) or Bigbang (restart, with a multiplier on spawn frenquency, spawn amount and hole force)

Submitted(+1)

Outer Wilds reference was not subtle, haha. Chill game!

Developer(+1)

I don't know what you mean it's only 1% chance to spawn lmao.

I like outer wilds very much and my game for the last year's jam was heavily inspired by outer wilds lmao

Submitted(+1)

I love an incremental game, and this definitely delivers. Very relaxing, great work!

Developer

Thank you so much! I felt like it was lacking fun but i guess not!

Thank you for playing :)

Submitted(+1)

OMG OUTER WILDS REFERENCE !!!!! I finshed the game in 24 min !!! It was very fun to play !!!

Developer

Hehe yea!! you finished it faster than be great job! i'm about 28 mins lmao !

If you like Outer wilds, may I interest you in my game made for the GMTK last year! It's called Outer Seasons and it's really *heavily* inspired by outer wilds (you are lost in a world with text of an ancient civilization and need to find an exit)!

Thank you so much for playing through all of it :)

From all the cookie clicker games I’ve played, this is the most creative one, the black hole contextualization matters a lot in the feel of the game and you nailed it, its really fun and pleasing, tackles the theme just right. Congrats!

Developer

Ooo thank you so much! I had a feeling my game was a bit lacking in content and feels but it's maybe because i was in it for 24h+ stragith lmao.

Thanks a lot for the review :)

A great cozy game! I liked the mechanic where the environment changes

Developer

Hehe yea i wanted to make the player feel that the blackhole was getting bigger and bigger!

Submitted(+2)

Excellent game! Really cozy! It seems like a mix between Little big planet and Cookie Clicker, which are amazing games! I do have one issue though, because I kept avoiding the cute bunnies and then one fell into the hole and I felt bad for it :(   (please consider adding a bunny-killing-free mode for us bunny enjoyers :D )

Developer

Bunny!HAHAHA yea i'll think of it for the v1.0.3 lmao i'm sorry!

I have the full bunny image if you want to it's so cute!!

This game was super nice and relaxing! First of all I love the music of the game it's super nice and chill. The idea itself fits the theme very well and I enjoyed playing this kind of game. Now this might just be me but because I haven't played these kinds of games a lot I did think the pacing was a bit slow, I thought for an actual game the pacing was fine but for a jam I think it'd benefit from having a bit faster pacing especially cause players usually play 5 to 10 minutes only. But other than that, everything else was executed very nicely! So good job and overall a really good game jam entry :D

Developer(+1)

Thanks a lot for playing my game!

I had the same pacing issue last year (it was a game that i looooved making but was a puzzle that could take a while, it was outer wilds inspired) and i tried to do it better this time but did not succeed lmao.

I like kinda slow paced games and i felt like a black hole absorbing the universe should be kinda slow paced at the end to accentuate the void effect yk.

Thank you very much for playing hope you enjoyed it!

Submitted

It definetly makes sense the pacing if it were an actual game I'd get off steam! It's just that in a game jam you'd prob want ur game to be a bit faster so players can reach the end more
But I did enjoy it :D

This was such a chill and relaxing game to play. I really enjoyed watching the numbers get bigger and bigger. It took quite a while to progress, but it was really fun! Great job!

Developer(+1)

I may or may not have 1k+ hours on Cookie Clicker so yea i like chill idle games that takes some time lmao.

Glad you liked it!

Submitted(+1)

I love it!! So cozy and relaxing. The graphics are simple but get the job done. Great job!

Consider trying my game as well. Thank you!

Developer

Ooo thanks for trying out my game! I'm glad you enjoyed it and will try yours today!

Chill and relaxing game but I'm not sure what the countdown does at first.

Developer

Eh I especially put a very huge number to kinda lost the player, but I felt like it was obvious it was linked to the particles you absorbed, but I guess not! Thank you for your review, game design is not really my best skill so I'll work on that !

Submitted(+1)

I thought the concept was really cool! I'm not sure if I 100% understood how the mechanics of the game were working. I initially thought that clicking created  blackholes but it wasn't consistent so maybe it was on a timer or something and then I read the page and saw that you could choose to either go the matter or blackhole route... I think that's what I got from it. Maybe it's just feeding a black hole actually I'm not too sure i I was doing something really wrong but I did notice sort of this like duality of choices in the upgrade section. I think the game looked good though :) sorry I wasn't able to get it :(

Developer (1 edit)

Uhh ? I was so sure the mechanic were simple enough to be obvious lmao, I now know I need to work on that lol. Thanks for the review!

Clicking does spawn big black holes, but there is a cooldown (there is a slider in the bottom right of the screen and a sound effect for when the cooldown is done) ! The main mechanic is absorbing the matter and getting through different stages of size!

There is not really a "matter route". Every upgrade is towards a faster absorption of matter. The thing you saw in my page was certainly "But in the end.... The choice is yours" that...

Spoiler

...directly references the end, after you absorbed everything, where you can choose to either *consume the black hole* to quit the game, or *create a new big bang* to try again (with a multipler)

I'm thankful you played my game and hope you enjoyed it nonetheless:)

Thank you a lot! I'm glad you liked my game :)

very relaxing, I like the colors.

Developer

Thank you for trying my game ! I hope you enjoyed !

Very nice and chill incremental game. It gets repetitive near the end, but the "rare matter" were funny.

One or two other types of upgrades would have been really nice to avoid long stretches of just waiting.

Developer(+1)

Thanks a lot for trying my game !

Yea I figured I needed more upgrades but I had issue with balancing since I had no playtesters :(. The other motivation to not add new upgrades is that it's mostly in end game, and I wanted to enforce the fact that you consume the universe, and have a bit of a retrospection and void effect.

Unfortunately I started developing pretty late in the weekend so I couldn't really play on the "different gameplay" side and I went to the "big numbers go brrr"

Submitted(+1)

I really like the game’s music and graphics, the organization, and it’s also nice! It’s a very fun game to play that is finished and bug-free! Top!

Developer(+1)

Thanks you a lot for testing my game ! I hope you enjoyed it and imma be trying your game a bit later tomorrow! I pulled an all nighter so I'm EXHAUSTED lmao

Submitted(+1)

I’m also so exhausted, rest well! And I think I’d play your game a bit more, it’s much worse for me!
