Gwueble Jam
This game is peak!
I played it, but my score started going off-screen, so I couldn't even see how much I scored in rounds 35–45. One thing that isn't great is that during the first hour of the game, I couldn't understand the mechanic where picking more pieces at same time gives you more points.
Thanks for playing!
Wow! I've never made it past round 23! It's amazing that you got that far...
I didn't expect to reach those numbers. And sorry about my tutorial... I didn't have time, haha
U just upgrade corners pick upgrade for rook in same colum, then burn every piece that isn't rook then u try upgrading sides and u are just stacking this and dont waste too much money at the start to get interest.
how did you even come up with this bro
how did you even make this bro
ts js peak
my only complaint is the lack of perma upgrades (skissue from my end i know), but the game is still cinema
Thanks for playing!
There are permanent upgrades that can be stacked, but I forgot to make the stacking bonus visible.
I think this is the best game I have played in this jam. Its so good. The tutorial is convoluted and I dont 100% understand what is happening, but I manage to have fun purely by vibes alone.
Incredible game. Contender for the best on the jam in my list.
Simple yet engaging gameplay, really good sound and tastefull visuals.
One of not so many games i would consider playing outside of the confines of the game jam.
The only problem is that tutorial is too convoluted and requires a lot of reading. I think that majority of people either skip it or start to get bored while learning to play the game. An interactive step-by-step tutorial should take it's place.
Also the final level felt unfair because the whole game you use the whole board to get crazy amount of points and in the end you simply lose the ability to use the center without any prior warning. Not good.
Thanks for the feedback! I'm glad you think that about my game.
As for the tutorial, I agree it could have been much better—I was even thinking of making it interactive—but you know, one week isn't enough time to do all that, haha.
I understand. I myself couldn't find enough time to implement everything i wanted in my game. Just pointing that out so that you can consider updating the game later, because i genuinely believe it has potential for more.
perfectly AWESOME game, i was confused with controls for a bit but evenutally figured it out mostly, VERY AWESOME!!!
Completely missed that you could collect multiple pieces at once for bonus. Once I figured out that, it was a joy to play. Great stuff. 5 stars across the board.
I am so sorry for not playing this game before. All fives <3
the music fading when you die is so good and sfx in general is awesome, gamplay is really cool nice job!
This reminds me of Balatro. This game had such nice art and so much great polish; I loved the aesthetic! The game premise is interesting, and I love anything chess-themed. I was kinda stuck on level 1 and made it to level 2 out of pure luck, I think. Nonetheless, it had a great feel. Good job!
Nice game! But i found that the game is really vague about its mechanics I got stuck in the first round for a couple minutes just because the game didnt tell me that I could collect multiple pieces at once. The game also doesnt really state how exactly sensitivity and durability works. I wish that the game was more clear on these mechanics.
