This feels like a peek into a much larger world. There isn't a lot of information offered up front on the story which only makes me more curious to learn more about this dark, dystopian world.
Good mix of puzzle mechanics, enjoyed playing what levels were available and look forward to seeing more!
I appreciate your kind words!
The puzzle mechanics are pretty cool. I spent about 10 minutes playing, and I enjoyed all 10 of them. You should def do a full release. :)
We're actually working on it now!
The full release is here! https://pepperfaced.itch.io/carry-on
There seems to be a narrative here which I don't fully get, and I seem to be stuck at 5th level I think for now. I'll definitely come back to this game and finish. This feels mature and well thought out. Love the art also.
Thanks! There is a narrative that we hopefully get to explore in a full release!
This is really well designed for a puzzle game!! I'm a little slow so I could only make it up to the sixth level before I threw in the towel but especially in four days I can imagine the amount of care and effort that went into the design. The simple pixel art and fx were very charming as well and added to the experience - great work!!
Thank you so much for your kind words!
Great game but what really intrigued me was the vague narrative. Maybe I missed something, but why are corpse burners interested in attacking Noeh? Why does his cry activate hunters? Are we carrying an undead baby or something? Idk but it really drew me into a game where I was already enjoying the mechanics and vibe.
Oh, the concept is based on a short story that I'm writing! I originally wanted there to be dialogue in it but I got so hung up on the mechanics that I didn't get the chance. But to partially answer one of your questions, Noeh resembles a corpse when sedated, but I didn't want to deal with the gameplay ramifications of corpse burners not targeting you when Noeh was awake...
Very interesting idea, noah pissed me off sometimes, but nontheless, its a very great game!
He is a little rascal
noeh need more night night juice
Though puzzle games aren't my usual dive, I really liked how the game has taken into account the amount of turns it would take for Noah to go berserk into the level design itself. The last level was one hell of a headscratcher until I realized that I was meant to skirt the line of failure and ration the use of the sedatives. Short but fun, great job guys!
I appreciate the kind words, especially as someone who doesn't usually play puzzle games. I must have done something right!
I made it to level I believe the 5th level, is it not beatable or am I missing something? I haven't reviewed your game yet.
All 10 levels are beatable!
Yeeeeah, level 5 was the hardest for me lol. I finally beat the game, good music and graphics. I don't really understand the lore behind the game? Not sure if it was meant to be vague or if there was supposed to be more story, like who the characters are supposed to be and what's going on in this world. My main positive thing I'd say is, I like how it got multiple uses out of certain ideas...Like how some enemies would only react to the crying, and then the dogs would not.
There was meant to be some dialogue in the beginning but I didn't get the chance at add it. However, was meant to be vague, at least in the beginning.
Wow! Great job on this! Puzzle games specifically can be supppppper hard to make in 4 days! Incredible!
Thank you!
