This game's core mechanics are one of the most unique I ever saw in this jam, using cards with dices and using them to attack is very cool and addictive idea, art and animations are very polished and beautiful. Overall, a great game, Keep up the good work (and consider trying my game on your way)
Wow this is a great battle system! And you made so many assets! I really enjoyed saving up a bunch of dice, doubling my 6s a couple times, then taking down the final boss in one single devastating turn. Definitely expand on this for a full release!
This was so fun and creative! The mechanics are really well made and I loved the way you used the theme
I'm blown away by this one, the mechanics are very well implemented. There is a good idea here with dice rolling and deckbuilding. You should continue this project!
Thanks for the kind words!
The deckbuilder mechanics are well implemented! In the future, it would be great to add more variety of cards, as well as a way to clear the deck of extra cards.
Thanks for the feedback!
Wow!! I can't believe you made such a polished and complex game in only four days. Congratulations!
I really enjoyed playing it, and it was a great experience from beginning to end. I especially loved the animation of the "2026" counting down year by year. That was a really nice detail.
Great job, and congratulations on an amazing submission!
Thank you very much for the kind words! Hope you had a great jam :)
Neat concept, but currently is very hard. Beat it in 4 or 5 attempts. Exact countdown should be significantly buffed, especialy as it's the only way to restore Energy.
Would love to see a further development of the concept, like Odd enemies, or enemies that switches between Odd/Even every turn, special types of dices, etc.
Also some QoL features to consider: make it possible to box select several dices and drag them all on enemies (also show the sum of the selected dices); add sorting button for dices so it's easier to evaluate your possibilities.
And keeping dices not only between turns, but between rooms as well would be cool. Maybe as a perk or something.
Art is great, though the final boss looks slightly offensive to me :)
Overall, great work!
Nice feedback! Thank you for checking out! :)
Very interesting idea and very well polished! Some great potential here.
Thanks!
Very fun rogue-like deckbuilder. The mechanic have some depths in it. Add some more enemy variation and more card and I think you can make full game out of this one.
Thank you, may be I'll do :)
looks very slick! well done.
Thanks!
Really cool game. It reminded me of Dice & Fold, you may want to check that.
Thanks! Haven't played that one, will check it out :)
Really nice deckbuilder! Had a lot of fun playing it. One small suggestion is maybe limiting the amount of cards you can play out because right now there is nothing to penalize playing every card you have. Other than that, I really liked the art, the number showing the total points in dice was a nice touch too. Very well done!
Thank you!
Really enjoyed this. Would have helped to have a "grab" for multiple dice to be applied to a certain enemy when you have lots of dice to play, would help with game speed.
Good feedback, thanks!
I really enjoyed this game, a very nice and cool little roguelike! Made me kinda feel like playing Slay the Spire but with dice rolls haha. Solid groundwork! :)
Thanks for playing! :)
I like it. Having to get the correct amount of damages is a nice touch. It's a pretty fun deckbuilder
Thanks!
I almost had the boss, gosh dangit! There's a lot of potentiel here. I really love the gameplay loop. The aesthetic though I'm not too sure about. Making the enemies' health tick down to fit the theme is a bit weak. Congratz!
This is so good! Really enjoyed my time with it. I lost to the boss the first time, but in my second run I managed to eke out a win with just a sliver of health left.
Drawing the dice cards (or rather, not drawing them) was sometimes a bit brutal. I wonder if having the dice roll automatically every round, and having only cards the modify (and then obviously also rebalancing) would feel nicer? You could have upgrades then that lets you roll more dice per round, etc.
Loved the shenanigans you could get up to with the x2 and +1 cards, and the restrictions on attacking certain enemies (e.g. only evens) was really fun as well!
Because the cards discard at the end of a turn, and there's no cost to playing a card, there was often not much incentive for me to not just play out everything every round. Might be interesting to see what a card playing cost does to the game (even if some cards are perhaps zero cost or whatever).
I also would have liked to have seen some way to heal a bit. I know that hitting the exact number heals you by 1, but that feels kind of meh (in fact, it does feel a bit bad for putting in the effort to get the exact value for such a paltry reward). Maybe skipping a card could heal you? Or it's a separate thing that only happens every X encounters ala Slay the Spire? Or maybe you can have cards that use dice values to heal rather than do damage?
On that same note, I kind of wished I could defend somehow. I.e. when you get to the boss at the end, you basically just have a countdown of how many turns you got to beat it (which is just HP/10). So on my first run, I had like 9 HP left, so the fight felt very futile, because no matter what I draw, I can't beat it.
Anyway, great game, great art, and nice mechanics. Bravo!
Thank you very much for such descriptive feedback! I can only give '+1' to almost everything you've said 🙂 I even had some improvements already done(autoplay dice cards and more heal from exact countdown) and committed to the repo, but at the end of the jam I was so cooked that I was afraid to publish it, as it could just break everything(balance and the game logic). And my brain refused to critically test the whole game again xD
Is this Dicewood? (the meme with the guy wearing glasses)
Is it? xD not sure if its good or bad though 🙂
Very fun game, and surprisingly well balanced. I failed the final boss four times and beat it the fifth.
nice game! very fun & easy to understand mechanics. Very addictive, good job!
