How does your game fit the theme?
A global 10-million countdown, with a combo bar that... has a countdown timer. And a 2 minute finger break countdown.

Simple idea, but the execution is stellar. If you're going to make an MMO in a game jam, I guess this is how you do it :-)
This is such a creative idea - I was confused about what to rate for narrative because the game has no story at all, but then I thought about the stories of all the people simultaneously clicking at the same time as me and how we were all clicking together to reach 0 and we could all see the progress of this collective goal at the same time. And its beautiful.
It's a bold yet fun concept to have one of these games in the game jam be a "everyone lend your support" kind of game for that sense of community, and the addition of the online leaderboards is a good touch to get people to actually want to click for them 10,000,000 clicks. Though the actual gameplay itself is pretty shallow and I can't say it's all that enjoyable to click mindlessly, but I understand the focus was more on the idea than the gameplay. Slick idea.
Hee-Ho. Interesting idea, nice vibe
that's creative , i hope it reachs 0
genius !
Always nice seeing multiplayer games in a jam! Very good job, the game feels very polished!
Eh, 272 I guess?
Really nice to have something using the community ! Wish there was a harder global objective but some items to help us. Curious to see what will happen after the countdown !
There might be not enough clicks for the whole rating period haha
I don't know how you managed to code this, it's pretty cool to have a global thing going on. Nice colour scheme as well. I am ashamed to admind I was pounding on my wireless keyboard for a while wondering why I wasn't doing well only to realised I had turned it off. So congrats on making a game that made me feel dumb lol
Finger Breaking Fun!
As a developer, I am curious how you designed this. Can you explain in few words how you built this?
The backend is mostly a single script (Lua in Valkey, driven by a Phoenix server) that processes every click one at a time. That means validating the round, rate-limiting, and decrementing the countdown, so there's exactly one winner and no lost or double-counted clicks! There's a bunch of extra stuff around stats, username moderation/autoclicker detection, that sort of thing, but the bulk of it is that one script. I wrote a full post about it here: https://wayfarer-games.com/blog/one-button-mmo/
Cool post. Thanks for the insight!
Really neat idea to make one of these but have everyone contribute. As dumb as it is too, but the combo mechanic definitely hooks you to keep playing more than just a standard click down. Cool idea and executed well.
I was told to give my fingies a break, but I'm using my fingies to write this comment so HA I WIN. Anyways, awesome idea to have a community game in this jam and a fun interpretation of the theme. There is definitely no other game like this here!
Really cool find! I was definitely not expecting this lol
Adding a community element into a community game jam is not the level of meta I was prepared for lmao. Good job!
Nice to see a multiplayer game for the jam! Not that big into clicker games tho..
Always open for a good clicker game, very neat work!
Wild concept, really interesting execution. I contributed a few hundred clicks and would like to be notified when it’s nearer the end though haha. Very curious to find out what the pay off is. Good job!
It's a fun little meta community activity, but I honestly struggle to call this a game. It's not even that creative. Guess I'm a grumpy old man for not getting the clicking hype.
No no I agree completely 😂 it was a fun technical challenge that seems to have taken off, I cannot explain it at all 🫠
Haha, fair enough. Good job on making it all work with the heavy load! This is a great stress test for your netcode 😂
