How does your game fit the theme?
The game is about counting down in 3 ways: first, it's about the way time counts down as we age, and the feeling of running out of time. Second, it takes place during a literal countdown to blow out the candles at a birthday party. Third, the main mechanic of the game is a step counter for the level that counts down until they can't keep moving. The player then must go back and try a different path, all in pursuit of their character's self-discovery.

I’ll turn 30 in 4 months and I’m also lost in life, this is good stuff :’)
I would love more content and have more time to wander around and regret all my moves.
Nice game! Nothing bad to say about it.
I would love to get your feedback on our game too! :)
Wow, what a beautiful game! The narrative, the art, the sound, the gameplay... everything draws you in and fits the game's theme perfectly.
Really nice game and concept overall! I feel it's a bit short but I understand that given the limited time range!
Really enjoyed the symbolism of taking the less obvious path. Thanks for the touching narrative.
The birthday count down was used quite creatively for a retro-inspired puzzle game. I really liked it.
Only issue was text wrapping around the screen in the intro, otherwise works well in the web.
Cool concept and loving the two-tone pixel graphics!
Very cool game, love the way the narration is done with le little intro and when you run out of steps. It's polished, it's cute, and you did everything yourself, great job ! Wouldn't have say no to slightly more complex puzzles to solve.
The main gameplay is pretty unique and cool to play, can't say I've seen a puzzle mechanic like it before. It could probably be made more clear what controls to use, and the intro text is a tad too long, but with some more levels and stuff I could totally see this fleshed out to be a cool game. I like it, for a jam game it's pretty good, if a bit incomplete (But I guess that's the nature of game jams lol).
I loved the cake ending and the whole narrative! A birthday as a countdown is a very interesting take on the theme.
The intro was a bit long and almost lost me. Once the game started it was pretty cool. Took me a moment to understand I was spending a resource with every step. The back button was not immediately clear that it was backspace either. Love the simple art style, the visuals are great. The combination of humor and the serious atmosphere was a little strange. Overall a good time though, well done!
How should I feel about this I'm 36 😂
I loved it tho! The overall vibe and music is nice
