I love the mysterious atmosphere of this game! It reminds me of Inside. The clouds are a bit too subtle as a hint, but overall great job!

The graphics for this look really good! So far this is the first Unreal game I've seen. The gameplay is simple but it took me a bit to find the right path down. I do think that it could be improved with some more hints to the player as to what path is the right one with a visual or audio cue because right now its just trial and error. Might also be interesting if you created branching paths for if the player decided to drop more ballast to get down one path instead of gliding to a less intense drop or something similar. But really great idea, its got me excited thinking about how it could progress!

A really pretty game, and a creative mechanic! It felt like the aesthetic would work really well with calming music or a simple narration over top. The character falls really fast, so it’s hard to tell when a fall is deadly or not. Regardless, I enjoyed playing it. Great job!

I like the idea a lot this an interesting interpretation. I think sometimes when pressing the button once many balloons would drop, so this made the game quite difficult. I also think some more juice, like sounds and particles would really help the experience. I thought the visual style was awesome, nice work!

Great points, and the multiple balloon releases on one press if for sure a bug, if I develop out further I'll create a release limiter on a timer. Thanks!

im just a ballast for these balloons not letting them to fly faraway to heaven

This game looks STUNNING. The darker colour pallets with the orange lights feel so warm yet cold. I did get a bit stuck with the directions a bit but considering this was made in a day, this was really unique!

This game is awesome! I've been playing for a while now, but I don't know if the game is only the first jump and after that there are no more balloon drops. But even if it's just that first jump where you have to separate from one balloon, it's a very good and atmospheric game! I'd love to see it grow, but for just one day of work, it's crazy good. Already wishlisted Greenfield on Steam! :)

Developer

Thanks! you should be able to use all 10 balloons to reach the bottom. The key is using the glowing clouds to find your path, which could surely be more pronounced if I had more time.

Ok lemme try this

Yoo I did it! But about 10 minutes ago I thought I found the end, and if that had been it, it would’ve been a crazy good cinematic ending. But then I played it one more time because your comment said 'follow the glowing cloud'and then I found the REAL end! It was amazing!

But the other thing I found was also way too good to just be a bug. Let me explain: I was at the rock with the little crack in the wall, and when you press the left arrow there, you're able to move a little bit down so you're able to get through the crack. I was there twice and thought ending on the big rock was the actual ending. But no! The second time, I dropped down on the left side and managed to fall with 7 balloons into the depths. Then the background went completely black, and only my 7 glowing balloons and the wire were visible. It was SO cinematic!

The whole game was cinematic to begin with. Thanks for creating it! Some sad, atmospheric music would match this game crazy well. Maybe you could add my bug as a second ending, or maybe it's already a secret end? Either way, awesome game you created there!

Haha wow I didn't even know this bug existed, but I kind of love it as an easter egg or something! I'm going to work on the game for a week and polish it up / extend it a little bit. Thanks for the feedback, I'll def implement some of this!

Haha, love it! Can't wait to play the updated version!

Well done — especially for a first game jam!
I wasn't expecting to finish it at first, but I'm glad I stuck with it a bit longer and got there in the end.

Very pretty game, I like the visuals a lot and the way the balloons glow. I think this could have used some way of looking down below you, sometimes I felt like I was making decisions blind.

Submitted

I found the visuals very effective, and the ambient sound is a good fit (if subdued).

Indeed it's frustrating that there isn't more. The idea seems very nice and poetic, and the visuals are neat with this Inside-like look and the glowing balloons. Very poetic indeed ! I wish you could have done more !

Developer

Thanks so much! I'm thinking of spending a week to polish it up and extend the length a little. Unfortunately, I couldn't get you game to load, gets stuck on the loading bar (I'm on a Mac in Safari) but the screenshots look really cool!

It would be great to get to see what you had in mind originally !
As for my game, never mind, it's kind enough to have considered playing it :)
