Congrats on your submission! It’s not my type of game, but it looks pretty good! And some people seem to enjoy it. Good job!

Developer

Thank you for trying my game! I'm sorry it wasn't for you, one day I hope I am able to make a game that you might enjoy more haha!

This game is chaotic fun! It's like a bullet hell but the goal is the hit the enemies faster than they hit you. Wish there is a more responsive/precise control of the player though, so the deaths would feel more fair.

Developer

Thank you for trying out my game, and I'm glad you enjoyed the chaos! Yeah, if i had more time I definitely would have done more fair boss attack patterns that better utilized the movement.

Submitted(+2)

Yeah this came together pretty nicely, art with the music is really good. I had the same thing as the other commentor, wouldve liked to have been able to the grappling hook more freely. Awesome job tho!

Developer(+1)

thank you for your feedback and I'm glad you had a good time! I'm really glad people liked the grapple, definitely wish I had done more with it now haha

clever setup

Developer

thanks!

The background clouds are really nice looking!

Developer

thank you!

The art was great but wow, if this doesn't get first place for audio i would be surprised, the music is actually so good. The game was also pretty fun, I couldn't make it past stage 6 unfortunately, it got a little too chaotic for me around then, but the music kept me going up to that point. I think it would feel a little better if the character switched directions based on w/s instead of a/d, but once i got used to it it wasn't too bad.

Developer(+1)

Thank you so much for your feedback! I did notice the direction switching thing but not until it was maybe a little too late for me to do anything about it, i think when I was playtesting I got used to the movement and had a bit of a blind spot for that issue. I'm really grateful that I was able to get so many musicians on board from the GMTK discord to make the game such an exhilarating experience. And as far as the chaos goes... yeah haha i definitely may have gone overboard, but I was having so much fun with level 7 that I couldn't help but leave it chaotic and crazy. If I had more development time I definitely would have gone for better, more predictable attack patterns instead of increasing speed and such.

really nice game! it's creative where you attack the boss to get time and stuff. Music is amazing, art is cool, the movement is kind of unresponsive to my liking though it makes sense since you're falling. all in all good job!

Developer

Thank you for your feedback! I'm glad you had fun with it! I will definitely work a bit more on the movement next time I do something like this!

Very fun game accompanied by great visuals and music. I was sure you were using copyright free music but no, you've got 8 composers on the team including the lead dev!

I would've liked to be able to aim my attacks & grappling hook in any direction. It was a bit awkward trying to hit the boss from the left or right.

Great job!

Thank you so much for playing my game, and I'm very glad you had a good time with it! I was able to get so many composers working by continuously posting in the "last minute team finder" on the GMTK discord until I had enough people to help out, and I asked them each to contribute 1 song under two minutes.

I definitely wish I could have spent more time on the fight mechanics to make them more interesting, but was torn between that, the time limit creeping up on me, and a desire to keep the player controls simple, in retrospect though I definitely should have at least included 4 directional sword slashes. Thank you for your feedback!

Really killed the artwork <3

Developer

The artists all did an incredible job and I'm glad you enjoyed it! Thank you for trying my game!

Great concept, the art is very nice (especially the backgrounds!), but the music is the absolute centerpiece. Getting a new track to vibe to is definitely a big reason to push as far as you can.

I do wish there was an option to lower the volume (because boy I was not expecting to get my ears blasted, and I was scrambling to find a volume slider until I just decided to lower the system volume) and at least accelerate the intro (since it felt like old Dark Souls runbacks where you had to spend too long to get back in the action).

Regardless, a very enjoyable experience overall.

Developer(+2)

Thank you so much for your feedback, and I'm really glad you enjoyed the game! The music is definitely the centerpiece, and I was very proud to have been given such great tracks to string together to make a cohesive experience! Sorry about the volume slider haha! It was something on my radar that needed to happen but you know how the time limits are lol! And as for the intros being a bit long, that's fair criticism, I thought the player might need some time to relax between attempts or they might get frustrated, but I received mixed reactions about it, so in the future I will keep this in mind!

Thank you! Glad you enjoyed the background art, I poured my all into it!

That was so fun ! The art and everything was so on point, love itt

Developer(+2)

thank you so much!

The art is really crazy! A really cool concept!

Developer(+1)

thank you so much! I'm glad you enjoyed it!

the background art is absolutely insane!!!!! i love how the clouds roll up

(+2)

Thank you so much! The background art took many hours for me to make  but it was definitely worth it! The cloud effect in the foreground is actually a pre-made effect from GameMaker and it absolutely ties everything together!

Developer(+1)

thank you so much!

woaw love your style and the screen was moving everywhere it felt very polished! i love that you're running down instead of typically on the ground. makes a very unique look into your game! love it ! also the intro was very neat!

Developer(+1)

Thank you so much for playing my game, and I'm glad you enjoyed it! I put a lot of particle effects and visual effects in, really adds that extra layer of oopmh for relatively little effort on my end as the dev!

Submitted(+2)

Stylistically really good, the colour palettes were really good, and hits felt quite satisfying.  The sword was nice and large to use, which is good.

My main problem was that the movement felt very floaty and hard to control.

Thank you for the feedback! The inspiration for the color palette actually came from a Drawfee video where they used the same color palette. It was very fun to work with that restriction and try and figure out how to make the colors work!

Developer

Thank you for your feedback! I thought the sword was pretty good, if anything I probably should have made it a bit bigger. The movement is definitely floaty and I'll keep that in mind if I ever do another game like this, probably should have put a dash in or something like that!

Submitted(+2)

love the game, movement felt a little goofy but i think it fits since youre falling

Developer

haha the movement was definitely goofy, I heard that from a few people lool! Thank you so much for trying my game and I'm glad you enjoyed it!

Fascinating game for all the artworks and the gameplay i like it very much! really cool style and i played it for many times haha

ʕ•̀ ω • ʔ. Feel free to rate and test our game thanks a lot!

Developer

Thank you so much for trying my game, I'm glad you enjoyed it and yes, the artists did an incredible job and I'm so grateful for their effort, I'll be playing and rating games all week so keep an eye out for my name on your page when they fix the "too much comments" glitch haha.

The restart intro was long but overall a very enjoyable game, controls were amazing!

Developer(+2)

I'm glad you had a good experience with the game! I'm also pretty happy with how the movement felt, though I have had some mixed reactions to them. I was definitely thinking the restart intro's were a bit long, but also thought the player might need a short breather between attempts, to help mitigate frustration. Thank you for your feedback!

Submitted(+2)

Amazing music, however, the enemies and blockers around level 6/7 was almost unbearable. solid 5 stars across the board

Developer(+2)

Haha, I'm glad you had a good experience with the game despite the extremely unfair last few levels! Thank you for giving it a chance! And yeah the musicians went sooooo hard and I'm soooo grateful for their work!

Submitted(+1)

ooof I wish I produced music for my gamejam entry, but instead I had to go overboard on coding and art for mine as those areas were lacking. Thanks for giving me ideas for the next game jam. :D

Developer(+1)

Absolutely! I used the "Last minute Team finder" in the discord channel to find all the musicians, that channel SAVED ME.

Submitted(+2)

Super cool, great music! Only feedback is that the intros was a tad bit long, dying felt really punishing. And great music!

Developer

I'm glad you had a good time playing the game! I was wondering if the intros were too long between deaths, but I felt like the player might need a break between attempts because of how crazy the later levels were. Thank you so much for your feedback!
