Very emotional and well thought, it reminded me in some way of What Remains of Edith Finch.
Great job!

Developer

Thanks for your feedback! Some members of our team have pointed out the similarities as well, lol

I loved the art and narrative! Also the depiction of each person’s death through items found in their home is a very cool concept. I wish you could find some other items while still cleaning (or even reading some notes from the papers on the ground) that tell you something about the person before completing it and seeing the death replay. Very good game overall, congrats!

Thanks for the feedback! Your suggestions sound really cool and we will consider implementing them!

The visuals are great, sound effects and gameplay are really cool too. What maybe bothered me a little bit was that the parallax effect was pixel aligned. It might look worse if it weren’t, I am not sure about that, but the way it is it shifts around a lot, which looks a bit weird, but maybe there is no better way to do that or I’m just not used to it. Regardless, it still looked awesome and was a nice experience! :)

Developer

Thanks for the feedback! Yeah, the pixel-perfect parallax was maybe a bad choice but while working on the game my laptop's graphics drivers were corrupted and whenever I would run the game, it would heat up like crazy. The only way out I have found at that point was to render the game at a low resolution and upscale it. Doesn't make the jitter less ugly ofc, but at least you know the reason now. I've actually fixed the drivers yesterday so maybe with the post-jam updates a new smooth parallax will come :3

Loved the art and the concept! The twist is pretty cool too :)

Positive points:

- Pretty pixel art.
- Cool history.

Negative points:

- Too short, but it's a jam, right?

Nice game, congrats!!!

Thanks for your review! We actually plan on updating the game after the jam to extend the story up to the scale it was originally planned to be!

I love the art you made for the game, it really got its own vibe!
I was also stuck after the first scene because I didn't know I had to press F, but then I saw it in the comment section, so all good :>

Developer

Thanks for your feedback! Our artist really appreciates your words. Sorry to hear that you've encountered the bug as well

The art looks great and the concept was interesting, but some kind of notification that the dialogue is progressed with the F key would have been helpful. I thought that the dialogue was broken until I just started pressing random keys trying to keep moving.

Developer

Thanks for your feedback! I've actually added the "press F to progress dialogue" hint at some point, but later on I messed up some things on github and had to reimplement a couple of scenes. Long story short, I forgot about the hint and decided to add it to my game description

The game looks stunning. Unfortunately I don't seem to get the control over the player back after the first death/arrest scene. But the first stuff that I saw looked very promising

Developer

Thanks for the feedback! That's a known bug and after a short rest I will look into it. Right now I can suggest that you skip the entire first monologue using F before entering the first house. Maybe I should just prevent the player from moving unless they listen to it lol

Wow! This game looks absolutely beautiful! Personally I think more games need a smoking button.

Developer

Thanks for your words, I'm sure that our artist was pleased to hear that. As the creator of the smoking button, I am pleased for sure

The contrast between the calm music and the death recap song is great!

Did not see the ending coming lmao.

Also, cool dragging physics!

Thanks for your review, the sound guy had a lot of fun with that amen break. I will definitely play your game too once I'm back at my PC, because the screenshots look super cool.
