Sweet story, very nice. I also really like your sprite work, especially on plant lady.

How does your game fit the theme?
The forest spirit has limited time left before she perishes. How much can she help a family before her time runs out?

Nice start to what could be a very satisfying narrative experience, and congrats completing what you did! Taking on all of the art and music in a solo jam is hard! I would love to learn more about the forest character and why she's giving her life for the family, and what's happening in the world they're living in. There's a lot to build on here, keep going with it!
I like the story, it's cute! I think it would feel more natural if you could see the plant lady get weaker every time she uses her power, I thought she was just going to use it infinitely until I saw the ending. Either way nice game! (Also I like the human aqua)
Haven't seen a ton of narrative games during this jam so that's a nice change of pace from all the stressful countdown games x)
When writing a narrative, be careful to not fall into the trap of directly telling the reader what is happening on screen all the time !
(spoilers for the story below)
The limited time the forest spirit has left isn't really shown/explained well inside of the story itself, the only part where that spirit actually shows that its time is coming to an end is at the VEEEERY end of the story after it "spends" all of its energy fighting the monster offscreen !
To really reinforce the idea of the forest spirit having limited time/getting weaker as the time goes, instead of directly telling the reader that "she must have used up all her power to defeat that thing" and going from seemingly being completely fine to dead right at the end, try to show her powers gradually weakening as the time goes on from the start!
Make it so it sprouts less trees/flowers with each scene that passes, make her slowly lose her colors after each scenes, SHOW us what the narrative is without directly telling the viewer what happened/is happening !

This is a cute game ! The narrative work needs a better structure but i'm impressed by the effort you gave into this ! Well done ^v^
I like this, its simple and very reminiscent of undertale. you could definitely expand on this give it tons of lore !!
Story games are really hard to do during these jams and I really appreciate the effort put in. The art compliments the story well enough and the systems you built work well for the type of game this is. I just think that its important for future jams to add gameplay even if its just 'Walk from A to B'. I think things like that really help with the story telling and allows players to put themselves in the shoes of the characters. Either way really impressive and good effort!
I liked the story, also the art and music was pretty impressive for this.
I haven't seen much or really any story games in a jam before, it was really cool and ambitious for you to pull something like that off.
Cool art and story! I like the way you implemented the theme into the story. Overall a good submission 👍
