Very interesting concept, a bit hard to parse how the mechanics work but that's what I love, an original game! Also, pretty graphics and endearing story, good work!
Thanks for playing :)
I agree with some others that it was a bit hard to get the hang of. I think the game is really strong, funny, and oddly relaxing and satisfying to play. It's just not communicating what's going on very well. Once I learned how to 'read' the game, everything came together and I really enjoyed it! A post-jam version with an improved UI could have a wider appeal.
Congratulations on the great submission!
Very similar to a game called Göby from this game jam as well
I feel like this one is a bit harder with hard hitting maluses (the one adding one hour omg)
Great experience overall, I like the light shading on the buttons and the characters coming up to give you maluses or bonuses.
Good job !
Thanks for playing !
Goby is one of the first games i tried of this jam, without knowing it was probably the only other game in the jam with the same main mechanics as our game XD. We dont have that level of polish, but we are happy with our game and is great to see a game so similar with that level of quality, there is a lot to learn from it.
Glad you enjoyed the game :)
Very cool narrative! Well done guys
Thanks for playing !
Getting hit with 60 minutes was pretty funny I won't lie xD
Good concept and execution!
We are glad you liked it :)
Thanks for playing !
The animations around the rocket were funny. Passive games aren't my thing, but you executed exactly as described lol
Thanks for playing :)
It just took me 5 minutes to need another 5 minutes to win the game :0 hahahaha. Loved the events outside
Im glad you liked it :)
Thanks for playing !
It did end taking about 5 minutes, I'm pretty sure I got some viruses but pretty fun.
Thanks for playing :)
Love the game, very well made! you guys should pursue polishing this game after the jam ends. One thing this game needs is a tutorial! Otherwise great job!
Thanks for playing :)
Haha, that was a fun bait and switch premise, 5 minutes, yeeeess, exactly.
The idea is fun and a very solid take on the theme. I really felt like I was doing well once I hit close to an hour on the countdown given so many games have conditioned me to anticipate that time running out is bad, fun twist to rather be chasing to reach that zero.
Had some issues with a lack of feedback when making choices between modifiers, that and the ability to affect the outcome is a bit limiting with just the modifier choice and then the switching between sets. I would had loved the ability to exchange modifiers out in some way rather than just swapping between the sets available or seen what clever ways this concept could had gone further.
The feeling during play definitely lined up with that IT guys, attempting to fix the problem, no success.
Thanks for you feedback :)
We will work on a post game jam update to improve the UI and make a tutorial so the game its more intutive and user-fiendly.
Awesome, will be fun to see what comes off this foundation. Seems like there is a lot of potential here for humorous scenarios given the premise. Good luck with the next steps 💪
I hate to say that, but implementation didn't deliver well. The idea is truly brilliant, fits the theme perfectly, it's funny and deep. The visuals, background gags, humor, atmosphere and story in general are great. But it's impossible to understand what to do. There's no differentiation between interactible and non-interactible UI elements. There's 2 sets of 3 sheets of 6 buffs each, all accessible through 3 buttons with no indication of transitions at all, for my first 10 mins of gameplay I thought all 3 buttons randomized the sheet, not transitioned it. Selecting a buff is done through same buttons, which I also understood after 20th buff or so. Cues for when a buff is triggered are too subtle, you easily miss it and then get surprised when suddenly find the timer to be 60mins. Surely big jumps in time must be heavily animated, and maybe each jump must be animated with at least green/blue tint for a moment. You did a great job and you're very creative, I recommend you playtest more and make that fun of yours more accessible by an average player. Overall a cool game, I enjoyed it a lot by the end!
Thanks for playing the game !
We are aware we made a game that isnt user-friendly, we playtested it only the developers (so as we know how its played we didnt thought about other players, big mistake, also no time to test it more). We will be making a post gamejam update trying to make the game more intutive and understandable and i would like to thank you for your honest feedback. Its super helpful to know accurately where the players are having trouble, and often when you try a game and what you have to comment its mostly negative sometimes its hard to write it and decide to post it. We knew we dont show the info effectively to the player, as other comments said, but we probably understimated that lack of the game. Now i will change the description of the game with all the info players need to know so some people will find a guide when lost and of course we will focus on the UI and the info we give to the player in the post game jam update.
And now i would like to thank you again for your feedback, im personally afraid in this cases where im going to comment negative things, cause i dont want to hurt anybody, everyone puts all his love into their games and sometimes its hard to critize. In my case, i love to receive this kind of comments (well it would be better if my game was perfect and there were no comments like this XD, but im still learning and that takes mistakes to do ), it hurts me nothing a bad comment, every feedback wheter its positive or negative its a gift people gives me to help me improve the game and offer the best possible experience. So, thanks for taking your time and writing this helpful comment!
THANKS :)
Glad I helped! Negative feedback tells a dev how to get better. If a dev wants their game to be better, they would appreciate such feedback. Personally I never met a person on itch who didn't appreciate honest feedback, so I'm not that scared to write it, based on my experience. Maybe they exist, but if so - they don't deserve to be supported with fake positive feedback anyways 😈
Wasn't sure what I was supposed to do. I see other comments describing visual gags, but I got the same dialogue box on repeat. Not sure if I missed something :/
Im sorry to hear that
Our game could be defined as an idle roguelike, where you choose buffs to counter the debuffs so the timer goes to 0. You should be able to complete the game and reach the end in like 5-10 minutes. With circle button you can look into your buffs and debuffs and dont forget to look the window sometimes, maybe something happens :)
We are aware its not as user-friendly as we wanted, but we are planning a post game jam update to solve that and make it more understandable.
Hope you try the game again and enjoy it now :)
Anyways thanks for playing, we apreciate it !
Cool concept and fun idea! It was good, congrats!
Thanks for playing :)
That's such a fun concept! I got really stuck on the window, LOL.
This game scared me because my 1 minute could turn into 59 minutes every second when the clock counted XD.
At the beginning, I wasn't really sure what the buttons did, but I eventually figured them out. It was a really fun experience, and I loved the game. Great job!
Thanks for playing ! Im glad you liked it :)
Pretty neat concept! I liked the little visual gags in the background. Feels like the kinda game you could put on your other monitor, or at the bottom of your main one as some kind of overlay.
I do with the buffs gave you more time to select, as I sometimes was reading through the text when it disappeared on me.
Loved the ending too. Good job!
Thanks for playing :)
We will be showing a timer when selecting buffs and we will increase the time you have in the post jam update, thanks for your feedback !
cool game!
At first I didn't understand anything, maybe some tutorial or guide would be helpfull! But once you understand how thing work , it becomes a rreally cool and interesting experience! great job!
Thanks for playing !
Making the game more understandable, intuitive and user-friendly its our number one goal, everyone seems to have a hard time to understand it at first, thanks for the feedback :)
Oh hey, this is really cute!
I love the little buffs and debuffs, though it took me a while to figure out how to actually select anything and how to switch screens. The description for some of the buffs was a little hard to parse as well.
Still, this was a really fun project, love the little easter eggs in the background too!
Thanks for playing !
We are trying to make everything more understandable for the player so thanks for the feedback :)
Just brilliant, making a countdown game with buffs and debuffs, the visual comedy was fantastic, and the ending was perfect! If you were to iterate on this I think making the UI on the monitors clearer would push this from a 9 to a 10. Overall love it!
Thanks for playing !
Im glad you liked it :)
We are working in making the game more user-friendly in a future update too.
What a very unique game we have here. Admittedly, yes.. it’s quite confusing initially playing, it does require some experimentation and a little tutorial for what the buttons do would be great but once you realise whats going on, its quite unique and clever. I think just a little bit more expanation will help new players.
Thanks for playing !
We are trying to make it more understandable to the player in a future update so thanks for the feedback :)
