How does your game fit the theme?
The player is racing against an ever-present countdown to their deadline. All but one of the threats in the game also act as countdown timers before they kill the player.

(Optional) Please credit all assets you've used
All Code, Sprites, 3D Models, Textures, and Sounds were created by me. With the exception of the cricket ambience and a cat scream from YouTube, but I don't think that's what you meant.

Maybe I am just a big baby but I found the game genuinely unnerving as early as the first interaction, the sounds of dialogue are awesome and a lot of the interactions with the antagonist are interesting!

This is my first horror game, so I was worried people would think it wasn't scary enough... so I may have gone a little overboard haha...

I hope you still found some enjoyment past the fear!

guess I over sold how I felt, my bad, what I ment was it instilled the same level of fear as a horror game made in more than 4 days. great work man.

Very spooky game! In fact this is the first game I've ever downloaded and played for a game-jam.

I have some complaints though. Firstly whenever I move the camera, it jitters back and forth for some reason which makes it really hard to turn. And secondly, I feel as though the game's slightly too difficult because the visitors show up too quickly ( or I just suck... )

Other than that, I liked the atmosphere, the art, and the computer was super cool!

Developer(+1)

I agree this version is too hard, the main thing I’ve changed for the build Ill release after the jam is making everything less difficult and more spaced out. Thank you for playing!

This has a potential to be featured in 8BitRyan's 3 Random Games or to become one of those horror game Let's Players play! It made me fuckin jumped, I don't even wanna touch it again. Great atmopshere, amazing concept and pretty much spooky. 😭

Heheh I got you! >:D

Very hard but very well made game! I got killed at like 12 compilations because I happened to step where the cat just spawned :(

Very bug free game and very stressful you nailed it!

Developer(+1)

Very well done getting to 12! I definitely think I made the game slightly too hard in this build, so that's a real achievement.

Hunter isn't able to spawn or move unless you're at the computer, did he get you immediately after leaving the computer? Or was there a bug allowing him to move around when he's not supposed to I need to fix?

Submitted

I left the computer to get clothes on the desk and he was there without making noises! no bug in sight just bad luck lmao

I’m not really into horror games, but the overall atmosphere and art style are truly fantastic

Developer

I appreciate you giving it a try in spite of it not being your genre

Submitted(+1)

It is SO scary. I think it's the point of an horror game, to make you forget it's one, and then it goes for the kill (litteraly in here ^^)

Well done for a great immesion!

Developer

That's right! The computer tasks were made to be engrossing enough you might not notice the threats incoming.

I’m not a fan of horror games, but this is a fun game. I appreciate that.

Okay yeah, I love this so far.

I'm not into horror games, and I get spooked so easily. But with the gameplay I've managed to do before straight up Alt F4 - noping once the delivery for paper didnt come in time, the gameplay loop is really well made. Everything has a count down, the closest lady the guy who eats. And I just love how you incorporated the game dev tasks into well tasks in the game while the timer ticks down... (I assume the tutorial lady is gonna be angry if I didnt make it in time). I may or may not continue, but I can see the soul this game has.

The sprites are also cool and just... I like the vibe here... it reminds me of Baldi's Basics, and the general atmosphere is well made. The audio is succinct as well.

It's a good game, and I related a bit to the character, to develop a game you kinda have to dedicate time. Man... mr mc. get some new friends that wouldn't wanna kill ya if you organized your closest incorrectly would ya? Procastination is such a struggle, I'm just lucky it didn't hit me for this game jam.

Anyways, thank you for submitting in the game jam!

Developer(+1)

I'm glad you liked it! I worked hard on making sure no enemies made any others impossible to deal with (there's a few more that get added later on in the night, not sure if you saw them). And this is my first time trying to make a horror game, which I thought would be really tough with only pixel art skills, so I'm glad someone else thinks it's scary!

I'm gonna be updating this game a bunch after the jam ends, and I hope you'll come back to see what else is getting cooked up!

This game is cool,  I like the idea behind it and all the art is pretty neat, and the gameplay is pretty fun, tho the mouse sensitivity is horrible even after tweaking it in the settings. A bit rough around the edges, but it's a clever game that's pretty fun, tho I never got really far because I'm horrible at games like this,

Developer

YEAH so the mouse sensitivity in the Unity editor seems to be treated differently than in the .exe version. That unfortunately wasn't noticed by me until after submission. The new build I'll be uploading after the jam ends has the sensitivity cranked WAY down from what it is here!

wow we had similar ideas !!!

phenomenal game btw and i love the art style :D

The build I released for the jam is bugged, in that Sonny will not play crying sounds after the first time he spawns, I have a build fixing the issue, I just unfortunately didn't get that in on time. Just know this game isn't feasible to complete in it's current state, but you can still get the picture of what it's about as is!
