Really great game, super fun to play! The degree of polish is so high it's hard to believe this was put together in only 96 hours. Excellent work!

How does your game fit the theme?
You are a ninja falling through a pagoda, counting down the floors as you crash through them. Meanwhile your Sensei has told you to keep your bodycount down. You will definitely be counting bodies down.

Amazing game that already feels like paid realease.
The only nitpicks I have are that you can't pick your target when you have 2 or more enemies in range of your atack and that the enemy hp and preview of how much damage you are going to do to them should be displayed in a more readable way.
One of the greatest games on the jam i have seen.
The art was incredibly impressive and in combination of the music and sounds and the UI really made me feel like i'm a ninja somewhere in Japan.
I really liked the look of the UI and the transitions between levels. In my opinion the hand drawn UI edges really give into the vibe of the game! Good job
The game had tons of content which is insane to think it was made in just 4 days. It is almost a fully fledged game!
21 different levels with tons of different items and abilities. There is also tons of variety of gameplay due to the amount of different enemies you face. Even though i died a couple of times in the first 3 levels but kept going and got the hang of it. I loved the different combos you could make and the satisfaction they give you, specifically one that i personally liked was the dash cut and vital stab. Unfortunately i couldn't go past floor 13 (probably a skill issue on my side), but i will definitely come back when i have the time and play some more!
At first i came to the game page out of respect because of the detailed review you made on my game but then
played the game and liked it a lot!
Really great game and i strongly believe that it is worthy of a feature!
Currently best game on the Jam. There are some minor flaws but gameplay is smooth, abilites have synergies, upgrades are meaningful.
100% love it GJ and keep going, I want to play more!
I really like this one! The battle system is very engaging, I got super invested!
One gripe I do have is that sometimes enemies would hide behind the UI, but besides that, great job!
Really cool game! I enjoyed the game. Music / Theme well match!
I didn't understand about the dash and struggle a bit. Also in Safari it throws an error message.
However, this game is fun to play :)
Real cool concept and love the art. I will say I didn't know at first that for dash I had to pick a spot on the screen, and didn't notice dash had a range maybe those should be more obvious? Getting over that hump though I started having fun with it :)
The gameplay and mechanics has a lot of potential! The variety of items, obstacles, enemies, and mechanics… I can easily see this with some polish be a game on steam
AWESOME GAME! Really liked how you introduce the mechanics as it goes. The aesthetic is already the kind of thing I really enjoy personally but you also executed it very very well. Fun enemy types, interesting upgrade options. I could go on and on, but this is probably my fav game of the jam so far.
Really enjoyed this game and the combat! The intro was epic and did a great job setting the mood. The art style and UI design fit the ninja theme perfectly and make it feel unique. The music fits really well too and the whole game feels very polished. Well done! :)
I really love the mechanics, the game is super fun, and the universe feels very cohesive!
The step by step tutorial is a great touch, though I'll admit I was a bit confused at first about when damage was taken versus dealt. I really enjoyed the deckbuilding system, setting up a sequence of actions and watching your plan play out all at once is super satisfying. Introducing new elements gradually works really well too.
That said, the game feels quite demanding for a new player. I'd recommend slowing down the progression a bit to make it more accessible and give players more time to dive into the details. I couldn't finish it this time, but I'll definitely come back to give it another shot and finally reach the ground! Great job overall!
I will echo the other comments that stated that the cover art doesn't do the game justice. This game was very fun, and I could definitely see it expanding to something bigger! I'm not sure which of your artists did what but keeping the player and enemies in the style of woodcut art worked REALLY well and the UI artist did an amazing job. Everything meshes really really well together, and your sound design and choice really fit the theme as well. Great job!
The cover art and lack of screenshots both don't do this game justice, the gameplay is really refined and i really like how the combo system has been implemented !
Nitpicks !
- Enemies can end up hiding behind the healthbar if you throw them around (this made me lose a run so i'm salty about it lol)
- I would like a way to keep an enemy's attack radius highlighted even when i don't hover over them ! Kind of like the Fire Emblem games (or more recently, Mewgenics) or a ton of other tactics games, where MAJ + LeftClick for example makes their movement radius visible !
- The sound effects (and overall mixing) needs some work, the level transition (where you crash through the floor) is absurdly loud compared to the other sounds in the game, my ears have suffered and i must complain about it 😈
Lots of sounds could be refined to have variants other than just pitch-changing, different enemies could have distinct voice-tracks etc.
Basically, the gameplay is really good, like REALLY really good, it just needs a fine-tuning on the audio-side of things, and a better cover/some screnshots !
Good work ! As a semi-tryhard tactical game fan, you've got my seal of approval ✨
Although it's my personal taste that I don't like these types of games, I think the art and overall aesthetic of the game was enough to keep me around for longer. You did a great job explaining the mechanics and how to play. Overall, good quality game!
Honestly didn't know what I was getting into this with cover art, and then starting scene happened, I really didn't know what ride of quality I would be heading towards. I was relieved and constantly surprised how good and inuitive it felt. Super fun! I loved planning my actions, getting a succesful route that you planned feels great!
the hype is valid its a really really creative and well designed game maybe the text overcomplicates things but everything else is perfect
