Really well done, i enjoyed that mini timer shotting around!!
This game was not at all what i was expecting it to be, and I'm glad it wasn't, because what I ended playing was honestly really fun!
Side note: I accidentally ended up minmaxing (cranking the timer to rank requirement) for half the game. Would not recommend unless you're looking for a neat challenge
fantastic title 11/10 no notes. Also, really cute and fun game, I found myself laughing out loud to the dialogue and I enjoyed the gameplay a lot. Very very well done! Major kudos!
Very fun.
I love how you have to manually spin the timer to reload (technecally not a reload but yea).
I'll be waiting for the anime adaptation.
First it's got to get its web novel adapted into a manga but then the anime won't be far behind
Thank you for giving it a play!
Such a fantastic concept, and I absolutely love the art style Great job
Love the theme interpretation, having the countdown be a literal ammo timer is a fun twist.
It's a great game, well scoped and amusing. I love the quirky weird setting and story ! The gameplay of turning the timer to be able to shoot is smart and engaging. And the visuals are nice and cute. Great work !
Haha. This is funny and stupid and great. Really well done all around.
Little sad i wasnt hit by a truck at the start but i guess a roast makes a little more sense.
Honestly maybe my favourite game of the jam so far. The balance between wanting a long timer so i could shoot but not wanting to over do it so i could get my bacon shield back was a very smart design choice. Dialog was eggcelent (I'm also here!). Very well done, great job!
"Oh my"
Ahahaha I wanted to start with a short manga style cutscene with the protag getting hit by a truck transporting egg timers, but ran out of time for more art by the time I started writing the dialogue and made it the pot roast instead. Thanks for giving it a play!
Such an awesome usage of the countdown theme! Tying your ammo to how long you wind the egg timer is brilliant, and the isekai presentation is very charming and perfectly egg-xecuted :).
Once I got the hang of rotating the dial, it was all gucci. I don't know if the camera zooming in during the wind-up/reload is deliberate or not, but it narrowed the FOV quite a bit during a moment when we are already at a disadvantage of the reloading.
My only actual problem with the game was that it couldn't be fullscreened. Since we have to do a lot of dragging and rotating, I kept accidentally clicking outside the game screen and selected the game iframe accidentally couple of times, I also clicked a link once and lost my progress :(. By the way, you can enable the fullscreen button directly from your Itch page settings without needing to rebuild the game.
Overall, fantastic work!
It can be fullscreened now! I think! I tried to make it be fullscreened at least lol
Yeah, i went back and forth on keeping the FOV restriction on rewind. Thinking about it more, I wonder if it would have been better reversed so you zoom out on rewinding instead of zooming in. Too late now lol!\
Thanks for the feedback!
My many questions about how does one come up with this idea specifically will likely remain unanswered forever. Also the dialogue is way better than what I expected from an... egg timer?! Great work guys
I too have no idea how I came up with this concept lmao
Thank you for giving it a play!
Love the mechanics! Could you please enable the fullscreen mode (check box in "Edit Game" on itch.io; is also allowed during the rating period)? Had the problem that mouse input was not recogniced when moving away from the kind of small game field. A online leadbord at the end would give extra motivation to replay again and again. Great game!
Aaaaaa a few people now wanted me to give it fullscreen mode but I didn't actually test the UI to work on different aspect ratios. I will go ahead and enable it anyway and hope there are no problems because I do agree it will play better without having a small screen. Thanks for the feedback!
Absolutely unhinged idea, loved it
Incredible game! Just incredible, the title definitely gave me anime vibes lol
The narrative consists entirely of my favorite type of humor and I love the game because of that (also maaaaybe due to how great the spritework is along with the very fun gameplay, even if the final boss did feel a bit too easy).
Thank you for the feedback! Yeeeaah I made the final boss fight in the last hour of the jam so i did not have time to balance it, but I'm glad the art and story help make up for the poor difficulty curve!
Fantastic game!! Just as it started to get stale, my unfortunate character flaw of ignoring dialogue truly betrayed me and got hit by a rad boss battle with a KILLER soundtrack. As the music artist of my game I am very impressed, yours has so much OOMPH which is so nice. I liked how the boss battle added a different style of combat: having multiple objectives (not just live + wind) would add a lot if you decided to expand on this cinematic masterpiece. sugoi desu. but not like i liked it or anything uwu
Thank you for giving the game a play! I can't take credit for the soundtrack as it's various royalty free kevin macleod tracks, but I'm glad you enjoyed the dialogues haha!
oh and thank you for the feedback about different play styles as well!
This game made me laugh a handful of times and I really enjoyed following the story :D! Pulling the timer felt a little awkward at times and I thought the abilities did not add very much to gameplay (in terms of decisions / my behaviour). I still had good fun though, thanks a lot for making it :)!
Thank you for the feedback! I would have liked to add some more power up types with different strats but of the 4 I coded, I only liked the feel of eggs and bacon and ended up scrapping the other two entirely and ran out of time before adding more. I'll think on ways that the weapon types could have changed player behavior though for next time because you are 100% right about that!
I really love this one. My favorite so far. The idea to use the countdown as an attack window, and to chain it with special abilities is genius, and I think by adding a bit more depth (Special ammo types depending on the number you set? Pick ups that prolong the timer? Ability that work when you are setting up the countdown?), you would have material for a bigger game.
I also loved the visuals, they were pretty cute, and the story was funny.
This is high praise, thank you! The ammo types actually are dependent on the number (1 extra egg every 30 minutes and 1 extra bacon every 50), but I agree it would have been neat to have it more explicitly dependent! That was actually an initial plan of mine and I even have some of the UI assets to go with it, but ended up scrapping it for time. Thanks for the feedback!
This dialogue and characters are interesting and really funny, the timer and score mechanic was a bit confusing, but it was fun after I figured it out
I love the narrative and the whole concept! Quirky and lovely! The only thing gameplay wise is its a little jarring when the camera zooms in as I rotate the timer, especially when my cursor goes out of bounds because there is no fullscreen option for in browser (you can still enable it tho ;) )
All in all, wonderful experience!
Thank you for the feedback! Unfortunately in this case, I did not build the UI to work with fullscreen scaling, but I've gotten other feedback to this effect so I will definitely try to make future games work in fullscreen.
