This is way too deep a puzzle game for a random game jam, very well done indeed
Thank you! We plan to expand on the level design and mechanics after the jam!
Lovely game, cozy style and great puzzles!
Thank you for playing!
A really nice puzzle game, love the art and sound design!
Thank you! :)
This is a super interesting game and the art is wonderful. I really enjoyed playing. Well done.
Thank you so much! :)
I think the confusion while learning the game comes from 1.) Not explaining where the values are, 2.) Not realizing that there are multiple colors of ceramic tiles. Once I figured that out the puzzles were very fun. Also great audio design/music. The tile clacking sound is really satisfying.
Yeah, I think in the future we want to add more levels that reinforce each of the values on the tiles, and what each type of tile does. We didn't have enough time to really sit down and think about it during the jam, but we definitely want to add a more digestible tutorial that gradually gives the player information as they play through the opening levels. Thank you for playing and for your feedback!
That's an interesting game idea! The art is also wonderful, i love how these tiles look and sound. The palette is gorgeous too. I just wished there was a redo button, and sometimes selecting another tile feels a bit tedious. (Maybe dragging them would be easier? Just an idea.)
Anyways, a wonderful game. I look forward to the last two levels! :)
Yep, we plan to fix everything you mentioned after the jam! Dragging is a good idea for the movement too, I think it is definitely better than what we have currently. Thank you for playing and for the feedback!
Easily one of the best sound designs and music of the whole jam 5/5 on that. I also love the puertorican setting. Only critic is that this game doesnt really give me "countdown" vibes. Level design is also clever. Congrats!
Wow thank you so much, that's very kind! Gotcha yeah we interpreted and integrated the theme more into the mechanics, as you need to "count down" or decrease the value of the ceramic tiles as well as decrease the amount of tiles down to the final one to complete the levels. Thank you so much for playing and for commenting!
this game feels good with all the attention given to the tile behavior, sounds, etc. I am still confused though about what tiles can stack on what others... it seems like I get myself into situations where a tile should be able to move (or move back) but for some reason cannot.
Yeah, we could have done a better job with the onboarding and tutorial, and we plan to go back to revamp it after the jam! We also wanted to spend time on polish/juice because we had never really done that before, which maybe wasn't the smartest, but we learned a lot haha. Thank you for playing!
I enjoyed the game mechanism a lot, it's a style that I've never played before so I definitely needed some thinking but it was worth it! great game
Thank you for playing! We're glad you enjoyed it :)
Great puzzle game! Intuitive, beautiful and with a good cozy vibe.
Thank you thank you!
The game lacks a bit of friendly onboarding. Just dumping an instruction manual in the player's face makes it hard to get into, which can easily lead to frustration and a quick loss of patience.
THAT SAID, the level design is absolutely brilliant and super fun to play! The audio and art are top-tier, and I'd give the level of polish a solid 9/10. If you ever add more levels and a proper, gradual tutorial, I would gladly buy this on Steam! Great game!
Oh, by the way, it would be awesome if you could add a preferences setting for the mouse controls. The game automatically keeping the block selected after a move really bugged me. I prefer clicking to select the block every time I want to move it, as it makes me feel more in control. I bet I'm not the only one who feels this way, so having a toggle for this behavior would be hugely appreciated!
Yes we will definitely make it so the same tile is not selected automatically once you move it. I made that change towards the end of the game jam and didn't have enough time to playtest it fully, so that's on me haha. We also definitely want to make more levels and make the introduction of mechanics more gradual, we just didn't have enough time during the jam to fully think about it. Thank you so much for playing and for your feedback!
The connection with the game context to a piece of culture and patterns is really cool and worked into a great game design. The tile clinking sounds and the bgm add real flair to the game! Reading other comments, it seems that other people understood what to do, so I think it was just me, but I would have really liked if I could get an option for a mouseover tooltip to explain what number and what type each tile represents for the early levels. I somehow managed to get through the puzzles without having a single idea of what I was meant to be doing other than clicking around, and it was still fun!
We definitely plan to add a better tutorial and more easy levels at the beginning to help players understand the mechanics, and you definitely aren't alone with not totally understanding the rules. I really like the idea you mentioned of having something pop up on the UI when you hover over a tile to give you a bit more information about that type of tile, so we might add that after the jam! Thank you so much for playing!
Cool game. The only thing that I didn't appreciate is that I had to manually deselect the previous tile.
Other than that, the game is very polished. Good job!
Thanks! We will definitely be updating the selection/movement once the jam is completely over so it's more intuitive and less confusing/work for the player. Thanks for playing!
Love the art and the puzzle mechanics.
Thanks!
Okay, this game is so beautiful, I really really like the art style. Well done! I have just been a bit confused, because the help says: "Ceramic tiles can only be placed on tiles with equal or lesser values." But is the inverse? The ceramic tiles can only be placed on superior or equal tile values? (Otherwise, it would lead to negative values)
You are absolutely right ;-; Yeah we threw in the tutorial at the very end and didn't have time to check over it. We will change that in the future, thanks for playing!
Beautiful design, I really like the transitions between screens. I think an undo button would be a great improvement, I often ended up making an additional move when I wanted to select a tile and had to restart the level.
Yes, I agree an undo button would be a great addition haha. Definitely something we plan to do after the jam. Thank you for playing!
Really good game. The tiles look stunning. The rules are bit hard to get at first though.
Thanks for playing! We definitely want to add a better tutorial after the jam as well as more levels to more gradually introduce the mechanics :)
Quite hard to remember the rules at first but still a great game!
Thank you! We plan to add a more digestible tutorial after the jam to hopefully make it easier to understand at first!
I think that with a proper tutorial the game can shine even more!
My only "feedback" is that I don't feel the theme of the jam, but if you plan to continue the develpment it's not a big deal.
Thank you for playing! We definitely want to add a better tutorial in the future. We also want to make the theme of counting down even more prevalent in the game, possibly with adding different tiles that do different effects instead of a move counter.
Nice little puzzle, just add some sound effects and it will be even more enjoyable. Well done!
Were the sound effects not playing for you? We definitely had some for placing/moving tiles around the board! Were you playing the Windows or Web build of the game?
