Really cool idea and very tightly executed I feel! I wish that the monsters would surviave a little longer, I was filling out the board of the zombie and the Round dude, excited to see them work in tandem by breaking graves and collecting the loot, but they seemed to die to quick to get real use out of it.
Still though I had a good time with this, it was fast paced and hurt my hand to click a lot so you know the countdown theme was incorporated well. The art is lovely, all around a great entry, nice one!
Hi, thanks so much for playing! ❤️
We really appreciate the feedback! Unfortunately, there was a small bug with the zombie health bars, so they didn't match the actual health; since we want to keep working on the project, we’ll fix that and, as planned, there will be lots of new features in the next demo!
this game is so beautiful! i mean this paticles and glowy effects an absolute dream! this is a baanger! GGs
This is fantastic! The visuals are all extremely polished, down to little VFX animations that make putting together the monsters all the more satisfying. All the pixel art, from the tetris-like organs to the backgrounds and the thumbnail looks great. I will say, the game is a bit difficult: I was only able to get about 3 perfect monsters before I hit the end, I simply didn't have enough parts most of the time. I also found myself confused as to what the different monsters did. The traditional Frankenstein's Monster guys seemed to be digging, but the spiders just sort of... sat around? Not sure. The bit of progression hinting at a larger version has me excited though. I'm interested to see how this plays with more content, since the core gameplay loop has already proven to be quite fun!
Thank you so much for playing and for the detailed feedback! 😊
Yeah, the game definitely needs some balancing and tuning. The spider monsters actually collect the dropped items. The idea was to first automate the digging with the zombies and then the collecting with the spiders, encouraging the player to switch between different molds to keep the automation going. I'm really glad you enjoyed it!
Wow I really liked this one – the vibe, the lighting, the polish was all really good. I loved the pixel art and the execution of all the vfx and sounds was really on point.
I think the pixel art and art itself is a really solid point as well – this is insane for 4 days of work, so really nice job.
Nice work! I really appreciate all the effort put into the sprite work, animations, and game juice. I will say however, I found some of the text hard to read because of all the bloom and moving around. The M and W characters look kinda like blobs. So I’d improve the way you text in this game
Overall, I think the mechanics were really fun! The core gameplay loop is pretty unique and fits well with the theme. I honestly can’t believe you guys did all this in the limited time. Great work!
Nice demo! It was really fun and engaging, and I found myself getting invested in the progression much faster than I expected. The demo ended right when I was ready to keep going, which is always a good sign. :)
Great job, and good luck in the jam! If you have some time, we'd also love for you to check out and play our entry. We'd really appreciate your feedback!
Interesting idea and lot's of polishing here, but the game lacks some kind of a final goal or something
Great work to pull this off so quickly. Love the art and and the lightning reanimating a zombie is a great hook.
Felt so silly at the start though. Spent a good 30 seconds thinking your game was broken because I was clicking all of the tiles really quickly and nothing was really happening. Clicking once plays an animation like something was happening, and then another flash happens a few second later, but it doesn't progress the game. Should probably have the cracked texture happen after the first click, not the second, or at least update the wording to indicate multiple clicks are needed. It's so easy when you know how you're meant to play your game to forget that it might not be obvious for someone else.
Really really polished (And fellow italians so bonus points!), the art and the mechanic are great!
I don't know why I had the impression that even when I put effort in filling the whole board, the zombies came out equally powerful, so I found much more effective to just dig and place a random body part in the mold for each timer.
I don't think that was the intended strategy, but it seemed working better (or myabe I'm just blind).
Great work! It's really well made for being a jam game and I'm sure your updates will make the mechanics shine!
Thank you so much! It's always awesome to bump into fellow italian devs, really happy you liked it!
You are actually right, that was a bug we introduced in the final minutes before the deadline (the classic panic hour rush 😂). You're the first one to notice it, so well spotted! I'm glad you appreciated the polish despite that!
Unfortunately it lacks much direction. Once you figure out what you're doing there's not anything to evolve the formula, which is unfortunate because there's some good bones here. Lacks much in the way of diversifying the experience or even changing things like the consistency of the lightning strikes. Addictive for a moment, but then it falls off.
Has grave-digging ever been this adorable?
I honestly don’t know why I was collecting teeth (or if I could even lose the game?), but I had a lot of anxious fun doing so!
It took me a little while to figure out the zombies were my friends, and also to even switch my molds (so much action on the left, I never got my eyes to settle far enough on the right to figure out everything).
That being said, I had a lot of fun once the rhythm set in, and found it all tied together really nicely!
Great job, this was really cool!
Guys, you cooked so hard in this one. The art is so cool and everything is pretty polished. It's a shame that the time is limited because it could be an awesome game. Nice job!!
Awesome look and feel! I really loved the narrative that you’re digging up body parts and zapping them together into “close enough” monsters. It’s not hard to imagine filling out the gameplay loop with upgrades to provide longer lifespans etc. in order to have this pop off into a more incremental-style gameplay loop.
This is really polish! im really impressed. Its looks and feels amazing, i was a little lost after a while if was not making "palpable" progress until i saw the end game message. I do hope you keep working on it, is really charming and its amazing for such a short amount of time! Congrats!
We love this! Is there a way to make different zombie guys? I would totally play a full version of this game! Great Job!
