How does your game fit the theme?
Time moves when you move (sim time). But there is also 30 second countdown that operates in realtime. After which a wave of time cops (who also don’t respect the time control) arrive and make the game much more difficult. Players can also rewind time (sim time), by spending some of the countdown timer.

I enjoyed this quite a bit and made it through the full game, took me somewhere around 10 to 20 minutes. Learning how the enemies move off of my movement was the fun of it, once that clicked I was setting up rooms instead of just reacting to them.

One honest bit of feedback on the rewind, I never quite figured out what it was for. I held Q thinking it was a quick way to get back to the car and it ended up respawning enemies I had already killed, so I mostly stopped touching it. A small tutorial beat showing its intended use would go a long way.

And a fun idea if you keep building, if any time cops and bad guys are both left standing, it would be great to watch them fight each other.

What did you intend the rewind to be used for? I have a feeling I was holding it wrong :)

Thanks for playing and for the feedback

You’re not the first to be confused by it. It’s not very clear. It’s a shame I didn’t squeeze in playtesting time, because I could have caught this.

The rewind feature was originally a debug tool I had while developing. The intended use is as a short rewind *after* you have died. It lets you rewind just enough to avoid whatever killed you without needing to do a full restart of the level.

To make it less overpowered, I tied its use to the watch timer. So whenever it’s held down the watch timer runs at 3x speed, bringing the time cops sooner.

I use it when I play, but I have a particular play style, which is what I balanced everything on. Essentially I leverage the watch timer as a fallback / last resort to let me increase my risk tolerance and play faster.

Cool idea, I’ll include this

I thought it was really neat. Clearly you played Hotline Miami, as this is very much Hotline Miami. I never used the time reversal mechanic and had no desire to, because it did not make sense to me why I would want to do that. I think you need levels that train the player on why that mechanic is useful. But even just playing it like it's Hotline Miami is fun.

Yo! I never knew I needed Superhot Hotline Miami, but apparently I did!

The only thing I would change mechanically is the timer (or the time dilation when you don't move), I would like to have more time to think and make tactical decisions.

I've completed the game, it was challenging, but in the good way, I think the balance is on point.

Super.... Cool

Wow, really nice game! Its polished and has a lot of juice!

I think the time cops spawn too often. Makes it hard to get by them because they can eat through all of your amunition really fast.

I also don't think the whole building should be alerted to you stealing the artefact, makes stealthing around a bit pointless (i tried this on the final level).

The upgrades were nice, but maybe there should be acurency system or something, personaly i don't like random upgrade choises, im not a roguelike head.

I liked the vest and stealth upgrades!

Aah bummer, I didn’t test with a full stealth play through. The idol plays an alarm noise, its radius must cover pretty much the entire level. Thanks for the feedback.

This feels like a superhot x hotline miami game, and i absolutely love it. It really shows you don't need complicated sprites and environments to make an engaging and gripping game. The UI and sfx is also very punchy and makes the game feel like a complete package. Congrats on the awesome game!

Love the vector art and the morally dubious protagonist! The door kicking is a great touch :D

I really enjoyed “Minimal Hotline: Miami”! The graphics are cool, and the level design is great.

Supercooollllll take on the theme!!!! and the music makes it 10 times more intresting! Superhot but enemy cops are fun to shoot, take time and arrange positions. And plus the time cop thing is super duper addition!! Really well made!! Good game, took me some time to learn the cops but crazy timing needed to complete!! Super fun!!

Love how you incorporated the time theme in the game, nice inspiration from Hotline Miami with a twist! Good job!

Really fun game! The movement and gameplay felt really polished. I felt like the learning curve at the start was a little high, but it was still really enjoyable!

Woah! Really really impressive this is such a fun game, concept, and execution. It's like hotline miami but with time twists!

Great juice and cool effect on the time rewind. I thought the most interesting bit was the rogue-likey upgrades between levels
