How does your game fit the theme?
A deep addictive game where you throw and assign dice that decay every turn. Balance between killing monsters, defending your city and unlocking new skills and dice.

Cool game! Very deep for the time you had and it reminds me of a bunch of board games I love to play - but digital! So, even better! Adding this to my play after the jam cause this was quite addictive lol! Seemed straight forward enough, too, with the phases clearly listed and whatnot.

Thanks - I also love and play a lot of board games.

If people like the game maybe I should continue working on it.

I really liked the rythm of the game, having to think what dice to keep. As I have to find a relevant feedback, maybe having the possibility to re-affect a dice before the resolve would improve comfort !
Very good job on that, would definitely play it again !

Thanks!

There are unlocks like extra dice and transmute

Die and Decay — the pun landed on me about two seconds late and then I grinned.

The good tension here isn't the roll, it's the allocation. I almost never had the

faces I wanted, so every turn became "which of these three slots am I going to

disappoint." Putting the pressure on the spend instead of on the RNG is the right

call — losing to a bad roll feels cheap, losing to a bad decision doesn't.

And it kept asking for slightly more than I had on hand, right up until it got me.

Good escalation.

You get it!

Thank you very much!

I agree it would have been benefit from a tutorial, and of course you would have ran out of time, considering you made TWO games (How you managed to complete two games in beyond me). Both games are amazing. Well done, bravo.

Thank you, you make me blush!

I've been working on my game engine since 2009 - that certainly helps with quick prototyping.

Submitted(+1)

Wow, now you surprised me even further, game engine of your own. I also wanted to make game engine, but I don't know if I have patience to to do it, lol

Cool combat-system and looks very polished for just 4 days. Though it would benefit from a tutorial.

DeveloperSubmitted(+1)

Thanks!

Yes this a a recurring complaint, I ran out of time unfortunately.

Submitted(+1)

Oh this was a good time. I'd play a more fleshed out version of this for sure. Great work!

DeveloperSubmitted

Thanks! I will continue working on it for sure!

I like a lot about this game.  It feels like a lot of thought went into the different houses and balancing each stat.  I played a few rounds and never managed to beat an enemy, but had a unique run each time.  There's just a lot to understand here... this feels like a game that would benefit from having a manual :).

DeveloperSubmitted

Yeah I ran out of time unfortunately! Thanks for playing!

I had a lot of fun with it, but I don't think I ever truly understood the cities stats, which stopped me from being able to actually beat the game. I think it can be really confusing to try and get into but there's absolutely a lot of potential here.

DeveloperSubmitted(+1)

Sound like I have to work on that, thanks for your feedback! FYI the monsters have attritions that affects your city stats (that will then turn red and count down 1+ per round based on the monster)

Really interesting game that got me engaged, just needs a lot of balancing and better game design. You should simplify the game initially and add complexity as the player wins more battles. Like you could start with just the Hero’s stats, then introduce the City stats later after a couple battles. Basically, don’t overwhelm the player too early! If you polish this and add a tutorial I think you’ll have a very strong game! Really cool game tho, I hope to play this in the future after some updates!

Thanks! If people enjoy it maybe I should keep on working on it

Great ideas about the gradual complexity, I wanted to make a tutorial but ran out of time

Submitted(+1)

I really hope you do keep working on it. Feel free to reach out on discord if you want play testers (search ‘Cotters’ in the GMTK server).

A challenging and brain-teasing game that’s also super exciting!

DeveloperSubmitted

Thank you! 😍

This game has some interesting ideas but could benefit greatly from added tutorialization or visibility of mechanics. It is hard to make strategic decisions when you don't know what the basic mechanics are, or even once you do if you don't understand what something like "transmute" means. I spent more time than I otherwise would have because it looks really deep and I believe it is, but so much time was spent trying to figure out the basic actions I could take other than rerolling and placing my dice randomly.

DeveloperSubmitted

Thank you for your feedback. I agree with you! I wanted to create a tutorial but time ran out unfortunately.

A very clever combat system. Took me a few tries to wrap my head around it. The music is great. The art is very nice, but there is very little of it.

It seems that the player is very handicapped and needs to use the dice to overcome his serious limitations. This is very cool, though it turned out very difficult for me.

Thank you, glad you liked it!

Very enjoyable game. could see this being a full game with tons of different combinations.

DeveloperSubmitted

You think so?

If people like it I will certainly continue working on it!

Very cool game! Very nice for a game jam game!

DeveloperSubmitted

Thank you! Glad you liked it.

Wow, insanely impressive for 4 days. There's a lot of complexity in this dice battler and it goes by very fast. But I love the idea of juggling your character and your city.

Also love how your character & their enemy bobs in perfect time with the music :)

Thank you so much!

Almost all time went to the coding, so I had to use a lot of free assets!
